Happy Thanksgiving!!!

The kids got their thanksgiving celebration 'peeps' and they loved playing with them, especially the papoose

Audrey got her cherry apron to help cook, even though she didn't help

Ethan got mad when I held him.

We successfully cooked almost everything, everything but the cranberry sauce

we attempted to get our christmas card picture taken, it will be some version of this, while we were taking the pictures the cranberries burned

we ended the night with some skyping and painting...fun times. off to bed to shop til we drop!

Day 14 - A Picture I Love

Day 15 - Bible Verse

I'm not really into bible verses but this was one that was read at our wedding and I have it hanging in our bathroom.

Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous;
love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly;
it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered,
does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;
bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails...But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7,13

this one kind of puzzles me... but here goes

I believe that everything happens for a reason, but unfortunately we don't know it at the time. I have many examples in my life that has proven this to me.

I believe that these are the cutest kids on the planet :)

Day 8 - A place I have traveled to

Australia!!

When I was a junior in college I spent my Spring semester in Newcastle, Australia "studying" at the University of Newcastle. Studying is quoted because I hardly passed any of my classes while I was there. pretty sad but it is what it is. I have no pictures digitally from my travels there since it was pre-digital. I have a whole album full of my travels though- maybe someday I can scan them in. I went to wikipedia and copied a bunch of pictures though.

I went to see a show at the opera house, it was so cool.
I went to Sydney many times (my school was 2 hours north) and I never got tired or less impressed with the sight of the opera house. Its just magnificent.
They had this little petting zoo type places with kangaroos, wallaby's, and koalas. it was weird, they were fed by humans all day everyday so they would just come up to you looking for food.  I held a koala for a picture too, they are smelly smelly animals.

I traveled up the coast after the semester was over and went to Ayers Rock, Cairns, and down the coast back to Sydney. Crazy Times, backpacking, hostel staying, all by myself. I think it was a huge growth period for me. It gave me some self confidence and Independence. Knowing I could do something like that alone was a great feeling.

Favorite Movies
I have lots...I'll try to hit all stages of my life.

When I was little, one of my first memories of movies was this one.

I think me and my sisters watched it 1000 times, honest. We probably didn't understand most of the jokes...but we loved it.

Another one of my favorite movies (from high school time frame) was

This movie we found absolutely hysterical. Which it is not intended to be, but is suppose to be a story of a very horrible upbringing of kid. We have a sick sense of humor I guess. The author was a professor at Syracuse University and I think we stalked him and/or children for a while. Trying to get 'sightings' of them- we would drive by his house in Syracuse. We still quote this movie to this day. Some of my favorites are "LIAR! WHORE! LIAR!" "Concrete..fine town, fine town" "c'mon pepper". I think this was one of Leonardo's best movie, in my opinion.

A couple more highschool movies that I loved

I haven't really been into movies lately but the latest movie that I had in my DVD player always and would just turn it on to watch it where ever was this one:

I just love this movie, its such a feel good movie. And I love Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams. This is a true classic to me :)

Day 5-My Children

Audrey

She was born June 18, 2008 she was 2 days early and 2 days of labor :). she is getting more and more fun everyday. She is just the cutest thing ever and such a joy. she was such a laid back baby- and so patient and content. She sleeps like a baby :) she is pretty adverse to change...anytime we introduce change (and unfortunately she has endured a lot with our move to VA) she has a lot of tantrums. for the most part she is a very agreeable, happy, obeying daughter. I couldn't ask for much more from her. She is a clone to her daddy...and she is for sure a daddys girl lately...mommy is chopped liver now. She has had to adjust to her baby brother but I think she is doing pretty good with him. She is talking almost like a grown-up and I am happy and a little afraid now :) next will be back talk. Tonight she requested "mommy come say to me" she meant come up and say goodnight to me :) she does yoga at daycare but she calls it her "yogurt". Oh i love that little girl.

Ethan

Our second born, he was born January 15, 2010. He was 2 weeks early and REALLY surprised his parents. We didn't find out what we were having this time and he was very active in the womb and then came early. My mom and ryans dad thought we were having a boy and I was 100% sure it was another girl. crazy. My water broke with him in my kitchen as I was tying my sneakers for work. Ethan was born less than 8 hrs later. Then he put us through hell- he had pneumonia when he was born and had to stay in the hospital for 7 days. it doesn't seem that long but to have to leave your baby in the hospital is HORRIBLE. He is the sweetest little thing ever, I didn't know what it would be like to have a baby boy- coming from a family of all girls and even all my cousins were girls (well except one boy) so I was a little nervous about that- afraid I wouldn't know what to do with a boy. but he is definitely a momma's boy so far and I love it! I would have all boys from now on. (I'm very glad to have a girl though) It took a few weeks before I finally figured out who he looked like- he had dark hair and a much darker skin tone than audrey but i didn't think he looked like me- then i realized he looked JUST LIKE my dad. So funny because I don't really look like my dad- but the genes are in me apparently. :) Ethan absolutely adores his older sister, I just hope this continues for a while at least.
Audrey and Ethan may never be told 'you look just like your brother/sister..but that's OK cause they are both cute :)
Today we went to a pumpkin patch and talked to the woman in front of us (mother of 4) and the woman behind us (mother of 5) and it really made me more open to more children- we had originally planned 4, then when ethan was born I was like- ok maybe 2 is ok- because the shock of the second is so much more work than the first. but they both said the 3rd...and all subsequent are no where near as bad as the second. so I'm actually coming around to maybe more. we will see :)

Today is Siblings. I have two sister - my older sister is Becky and my younger sister is Sarah.
Sisters are very tumultuous I think. we fight, we laugh, we play, we cry, we love...everything is is like an 11 on a scale of 1-10. I have said that Audrey doesn't need any sisters, cause she doesn't need that drama. but if you ask a girl without a sister they wish they had a sister they would say yes... so we will see if audrey ever gets a sister...I don't really have a say in it.
So that said my sisters and I have many good times and many bad times. I'm so glad I have sisters- and we all always wished we had had a little brother. we use to beg my mom to have another baby when we were older.

This is Becky (aka Rebecca)

She was born 2 1/2 years before me, we shared a room on and off until I was in 10th grade- when she tried to drive me to the psych ward asking me questions about my biology lab partner that she had a crush on. i learned how to stalk boys by her :) I got into the bars using her id, she willing took my furkid patty poo, she is definitely my go-to person whenever I need advice, shes a great person to go on vacation with cause she'll let a 2 yr old and her rain machine share a room with her with out complaining, she is an awesome painter, she has zero sense of directions, she used to be an avid blogger but seems to be in a blogging lull...and IF she hasn't run out of minutes on her phone she always answers my calls :)

This is Sarah (and her husband)

She was born 16 months after me, we also shared a room off and on- I apparently didn't like to have my own room (So my mom says). If I wasn't sharing with becky, it was with sarah. Sarah and I played soccer and softball together growing up, being so close in age it was nice because we were always together and becky was always in an older bracket. Sarah is my go to person for all my medical and kids medical questions...she is a nurse...and with all of my dads recent medical issues she has definitely stepped it up there, thank god.  Sarah married Brian (junior) and they have 2 little girls, same age as mine so it will be great that they can grow up together and play-even though we live so far away :(

So even with all the drama i'm so glad I have my sister and I love them dearly

Day 3 - My Parents

Cath and Mike-My parents

Cath is a teachers assistant at the school me and my sisters graduated from (i won't mention the name so she can keep her anonymity...teacher and all... you know how it is) she stayed home with us until my little sister was school age...i honestly don't know how she kept her sanity...i think the clothes flying out of the window onto the front lawn is MUCH more understandable now... My mom is the middle daughter with an older brother and sister and one younger sister. She now enjoys farming and selling sake on farmville. My dad was an electrician and is now retired...his new profession is golfing and fishing. My dad is 100% Native American (Mohawk of the Iroquois Nation). My dad is older of two brothers. They met at a bar in my moms hometown, and they married on Aug 14, 1973. We grew up in the house my dad grew up in and then when I graduated high school we moved to the house my mom grew up in. Now they just travel to see the grand babies. :)

Dad at Virginia Beach

Cath and Little e (mini-mike)

Grampy, e, Cath, and Audrey (this was the day they left, hence the cry face on cath)

Day 2 - My Love

This is Ryan...we met in 2002 when I moved to Olean, NY for work. I remember the first time my friend and I hung out with him an ex girlfriend of his was very rude to us and I had stated to my friend-its not like we want him or anything. Little did I know that this was who I would be spending the rest of my life with. We were friends for about 6 months and he asked me out to dinner and I remember asking 'like a date?...yes a date...ok' and within 6 months we had moved into together and engaged 9 months after our first date on St Patricks day 2003. We were married on Aug 28, 2004.

Our Wedding Day
This is from our summer vacation this year in Virginia Beach- This was the night we celebrated our 6th year anniversary.

Linus Strikes Again

This is a chain of emails I received today from ryan…

Sent: Monday, October 18, 2010 10:18 AM
we have our first dead rabbit. I don't know how it went down. Murphy had been inside, and Linus was down by the shed running around it like crazy. Then I let Murphy out during my call. I went out afterward, and they didn't want to come up. Murphy was laying down, near the shed, and Linus was kind of prancing around. So I walked down, and about 10 feet from Murphy was the rabbit. I'm thinking it was probably a tag team, unless Linus had already gotten it. But there was no blood anywhere at all. And the rabbit actually felt like it had been dead for a while.

Sent: Monday, October 18, 2010 12:08 PM
I cannot find Linus anywhere!! I think she escaped. Good thing we have the new tags. What a pain in the ass.

Sent: Monday, October 18, 2010 12:23 PM
She's underneath the shed and she won't come out. I even have a treat. I think she's scared (maybe that I will kill her?)
She is a pain. This probably isn't the last of it either.

Sent: Monday, October 18, 2010 12:33 PM
I'm sure that's what prompted her to go in. She's in the corner of the shed with the least room to get out, and she doesn't know what to do. I got a hold of her and tried to pull her fat ass out, but she wouldn't fit. She got a little testy with me, and by a little testy, I mean she treated me like I was the rabbit.
I think she's going to have to figure this one out on her own. Maybe I can get her to come to the other side....

Sent: Monday, October 18, 2010 12:43 PM
I know, it is pretty funny. No, she didn't break skin.

Sent: Monday, October 18, 2010 12:46 PM
Murphy is inside with me now, but yes, when he was out there, he was trying to tell me where she was I think. He kept circling the shed and looking around it. She never made a peep, I just saw this hump from the other side, so I went to the side she was on and shined the flashlight, and there she was.

Sent: Monday, October 18, 2010 3:36 PM
Linnie made it out. I'm glad for her. I felt bad. I had this vision of us calling the fire dept, ya know like when the cat's stuck in the tree :)

A Look Back at the Summer

I feel like the past 8 or so months are one big blur. I keep thinking of things we did and then thinking no that was in the last few months because ethan was born. The days before he was born I can't even recall. its so strange but its happened a couple times this week. In the last 5 months or the summer of 2010 I've:
Sold a house
Sold a Car
Bought a house
Quit a job
Got a new job
Moved into an Apartment
Moved into a house
Redid 25% of the house
Put up a fence
Got a new air conditioner system
Went on a week vacation in VA Beach
I've been to VA Beach 3 other times
Went to a wedding in the Chesapeake Bay
Went to Baltimore for a yankees game
Not all in that order...

I am seriously ready to just not do ANYTHING for a while. I feel like I've missed a lot of ethans "moments" because we have spent so much time doing other things and trying to keep him occupied so we can get it done. he has spent many many hours in his stroller watching, which I guess surprises me that he is so mobile now.

Let's Play Ball!

We went to the Yankees-Orioles Game Saturday Night. Here are some of the best Pictures I got.

There were hardly any Orioles fan, 90% were yankees, I kind of felt bad for them. we had a great time though and the kids had a ball too. we left in the 5th inning but it was so worth it.

Fence

Before
Before

After

After

We originally hired someone back in June to do our fence. After a couple months of excuses and poor workmanship we fired them and decided to finish it ourselves. we are 95% done with it, one gate still needs to be finished but the fence is working, AKA our dogs can be let outside without a leash. And this is what I am most happy about. it has been a long 4 months of taking them on leashes between our move into the apartment and here at the new house. Luckily it wasn't 95+ degrees this weekend but it was still very sunny and pretty hot.  Throw on top of 10 hour days of working on the fence trying to take care of two babies equals one busy labor day weekend. I am exhausted, sore, and very excited about going back to work tomorrow.

Chiropractor

During our latest (and last) move to Virginia by left arm and hand went numb and tingly for almost a whole day. So at the point I made the decision that I was going to go see a chiropractor. So with all the moving chaos and starting a new job we finally made the time to find one. Ryan went a few weeks ago and he is a chiropractor pro, this is his 3rd or 4th chiropractor. He has had chronic back and neck pain starting from his early childhood football I presume, but in his alumni football days he injuries his neck and that is why he is going and will have to go for the rest of his life. Anyways the point is after his first appointment here he said this is the best feeling he has ever gotten from a chiropractor before. I decide that I will make an appointment too knowing they are good. They spent over an hour with questions, x-rays, and all sorts of other tests. They stated they wouldn’t touch him until they got the results back. So he is on a plan of 3 times a week for a while, then down to 2 times a week for like 10 weeks, and 1 time a week for 40 weeks. Who knows when he will be able to go once a month. So with all this I am thinking well I am fine I have never had back pain so mine is going to be in and out no big deal. Well I went today to get my results and treatment plan because I did my tests Monday. I am in much worse shape than I thought I was. So I will be seeing the chiropractor 2 times a week for 15 weeks then reevaluated. I was very nervous to be 'adjusted' today just because I had no idea what to expect but it went pretty well. My hip bones are not even (5mm difference) and after some adjustments he said they were back even, but as I go about it will probably go back as they were. Hence having to come back every week. I guess with all these adjustments my body will start to go back to the way it should be. I learned a lot.

1. good posture is very important and can correct a lot of my back/neck problems
2. there are 3 stressors - physical, chemical, emotional and all affect your body health
3. sleeping on your belly is not good. Back is best, just like for babies :)
4. Water consumption is very important.
5. My chiropractor is against medicine.

playset building

Recently the fence the people came and showed us where our property line was, showed us that the previous owners grossly overestimated where their property ended. There is a sprinkler head in the neighbors lawn, half of the playset (as seen below, the yellow rope shows the property line) and the horse shoe pits are on our property but you can't stand next to them anymore with the fence there. lovely!

so then we moved the playset and it literally folded over as we moved it, all dryrotted. i think the people we bought the house from laughed when we asked for the playset. we've been working on a new one and just need a couple more eyebolts and a tarp for the roof and its done.

woah...too long

I haven't posted in forever... but my excuse is valid, i've been busy. Started my new job. Its so strange, i've worked in manufacturing my whole career and this place a transactional, credit card company. soooo different, but some things the same. its an 'open' atmosphere, meaning everyone has a laptop, its all wireless and no set desks. so i have to bring everything home every night, that's not so fun. its pretty crowded in my area too so i have about 3 feet by 3 feet tabletop and that's it- no desk drawer, no filing cabinet, no shelf to put my frames or calendars.  There are alot of perks though, starbucks, chik fil a, sushi, all on campus. its too bad i started weight watchers the week i started working. Last week there was a snack cart that came around one day, and a breakfast sandwich cart the next day- all free mind you. its pretty plush compared to previous working environments, oh and the hours are 9-5! the job is not exactly as described, but i think i can get used to this. ha ha
meanwhile back on the home front grammy and grampy came to babysit for the week...here are some classic pictures.
