Day 5-My Children

Audrey

She was born June 18, 2008 she was 2 days early and 2 days of labor :). she is getting more and more fun everyday. She is just the cutest thing ever and such a joy. she was such a laid back baby- and so patient and content. She sleeps like a baby :) she is pretty adverse to change...anytime we introduce change (and unfortunately she has endured a lot with our move to VA) she has a lot of tantrums. for the most part she is a very agreeable, happy, obeying daughter. I couldn't ask for much more from her. She is a clone to her daddy...and she is for sure a daddys girl lately...mommy is chopped liver now. She has had to adjust to her baby brother but I think she is doing pretty good with him. She is talking almost like a grown-up and I am happy and a little afraid now :) next will be back talk. Tonight she requested "mommy come say to me" she meant come up and say goodnight to me :) she does yoga at daycare but she calls it her "yogurt". Oh i love that little girl.

Ethan

Our second born, he was born January 15, 2010. He was 2 weeks early and REALLY surprised his parents. We didn't find out what we were having this time and he was very active in the womb and then came early. My mom and ryans dad thought we were having a boy and I was 100% sure it was another girl. crazy. My water broke with him in my kitchen as I was tying my sneakers for work. Ethan was born less than 8 hrs later. Then he put us through hell- he had pneumonia when he was born and had to stay in the hospital for 7 days. it doesn't seem that long but to have to leave your baby in the hospital is HORRIBLE. He is the sweetest little thing ever, I didn't know what it would be like to have a baby boy- coming from a family of all girls and even all my cousins were girls (well except one boy) so I was a little nervous about that- afraid I wouldn't know what to do with a boy. but he is definitely a momma's boy so far and I love it! I would have all boys from now on. (I'm very glad to have a girl though) It took a few weeks before I finally figured out who he looked like- he had dark hair and a much darker skin tone than audrey but i didn't think he looked like me- then i realized he looked JUST LIKE my dad. So funny because I don't really look like my dad- but the genes are in me apparently. :) Ethan absolutely adores his older sister, I just hope this continues for a while at least.
Audrey and Ethan may never be told 'you look just like your brother/sister..but that's OK cause they are both cute :)
Today we went to a pumpkin patch and talked to the woman in front of us (mother of 4) and the woman behind us (mother of 5) and it really made me more open to more children- we had originally planned 4, then when ethan was born I was like- ok maybe 2 is ok- because the shock of the second is so much more work than the first. but they both said the 3rd...and all subsequent are no where near as bad as the second. so I'm actually coming around to maybe more. we will see :)
