EXHAUSTED

well we got back sunday from our big trip to New York...what fun we had! i'll post a few pictures now but I hope this weekend to do some more detailed posts. The kids had a ball- it was so fun! But the heat killed me...I am not made for heat. so central air down here is awesome.

Happy Father's Day 2011

We had a wonderful Father's Day weekend...we got 10 yards of mulch delivered Saturday morning... Ryan's idea, not mine - I wouldn't have signed up for this on mothers day weekend, that's for sure. we spread a little and then zipped to the pool- waited until the kids went down for a nap and spread all the mulch for the front yard- I didn't get a before picture but here is after-

This is the the before and after of the backyard. we waiting until the kids went to bed- because its near impossible to do thing with them running around and its cooler at 7pm. we finished almost all of it saturday night and had maybe 10 more wheelbarrels full to finish sunday. Luckily our neighbor had let us borrow a second wheelbarrel and a pitchfork. A pitchfork made it so much easier!

Happy 3rd Birthday Audrey!

Audrey is 3!!!
Friday night when we were putting Audrey to bed I asked her if she knew what tomorrow was, and when I told her it was her birthday, she said "again???" she has had a fun-filled birthday week apparently. with her school party last week she got a few straggling presents during the week and then on friday we sent cupcakes to school. it was fun though- she enjoyed every cupcake i think.

we got balloons, opened presents, went to the pool, and had cupcakes for lunch and dinner :) Here are some pictures of the day- thank you for everyone who sent cards and presents-you helped make it an awesome day!

Audrey is going to be 3 on Saturday!!!

I still can't believe that almost 3 years ago my sister and my dad came to visit to see the red sox play philly and then the day they were going home I woke up and was in labor with audrey! so they got to be there (36 hours later) when she was born!

And this weekend we did her class mates at school party at a local place called Romp 'n Roll. It was an hour of play- on a padded room type place and then food and cupcakes. They did all the set up and clean up AND we didn't have to clean the house so I think it was SOOOO worth it. Ethan really enjoyed it too, he is 1-2 years younger than all of the other guests so he didn't follow directions at all and I thought it was funny. He was always the odd one out doing what he wasn't suppose to. Audrey was a little shy-hesitant at first, but warmed up pretty quickly. She had a BALL there. Here are some pictures from the party.

Busy Weekend

We were very busy this weekend...we had to eat some Popsicles in the heat

We bought some Adirondack Chairs, unfinished and we put them together and then decided to paint them. I am doing a Syracuse Theme...Ryan is doing Yankees Pinstripes. I think mine is going to look better. I still have to put some orange slats back in the chair but other than that it is ready.

16 Months

Ethan is 16 months old!!
He is talking so much more (i think grammys visit improved this immensely)
He can do sign language for "more" and he just lights up when he does it and I say "more" I love it. I don't think that Audrey ever picked up any of the sign language.
I think going to the chiropractor is finally helping he has had two colds back to back and no fevers and his bm's are getting so much more regular (I know TMI)
I love the faux hawk...it will never get old for me
He gets along pretty well with his sister, she takes almost every toy he has and sometime he just lets her and walks away, other times he squeals, sometimes he attacks for it back :)
He loves to play with anything with wheels, he "drives" them all over.
He has four top teeth and four bottom teeth
Wears size 4 diaper
Wears 12m-18m tops and 9m-12m bottoms.
He makes me smile everyday...such a sweetie!

I can't believe Sunday there will be a SOLE SURVIVOR!!! I feel like way too many people are left. i hope they do two people from the ometepe tribe and 1 from redemption island for the jury vote- that would be awesome!

Wow, I was really late on this post, I hope I got everything right...check it out.

Ukrops Monument 10k 2011

Today I completed the 10k race. I've never done any race of any sort since my sophmore year in highschool at indoor track. and that may have been 200 meters. So this was quite a feat for me. I started training 4 months ago and I vividly remember my first night of training I tried to run the 1.2 mile loop around my neighborhood and I think I made it half way and I had to walk...I was so convinced I would NEVER run the 10k. But I kept training. The next night I was able to run the whole 1.2 mile loop. And today I ran 6.2 miles without stopping to walk. Around mile 4-5 I was running probably slower than I could walk...but I never walked. That was my only goal. Maybe next year I can focus on speed. we will see.

The experience was crazy. 40,000 people sign up for this race. I ran past a guy with a wooden doll house on sticks 4 feet above his head (and he was running) lots of dressed up people, lots of people in black and gold (GO VCU!) Bands at every block on the course which really helped keep you moving.
