16 months

Miss audrey is 16 months now


some recent milestones
1. she is such a big girl now. talking up a storm, we cant really understand most of it- but she sure seems to be saying ALOT. i cant wait to figure out what/who 'bobby' is. she says that frequently.
2. she says more, bye-bye, doggie, woof woof, ball, ducky, baa, bubu for her bunny toy, and a few other words.
3. she can touch her nose when asked and rubs her belly when asked where her belly is.
4. she is great at peekaboo.
5. she can climb on the couch now.
6. She likes to high five (esp your face) and we are working on the fist bump.
7. She moved into her big girl room.
8. and she loves her mummy!

Survivor Update #4

ooooh Ryan is gone now too...i didnt think ashley would make it to the end...but even natalie voted for her, i was surprised. you can kind of figure out what is going to happen in these episodes, they show ashley talking about how easy this challenge is going to be, then ooh surprise surprise she loses it for the team. those pruney hands and feet and down right gross, i hope it either stops raining or atleast they dont have to show us close ups again.

The Zoo

We went to the Philly zoo this weekend. And of course Audrey loved it, i'm not quite sure if there is much she doesnt like.

Audrey had to run the steps just like all first timers to philly (even though it wasnt her first time, it was the first time she was in philly and could walk.

Audreys first haircut

below is a picture of Audrey's hair last week, as you can see it looks awfully like a mullet, short on top, long in the back...this is not the look i am trying to achieve with my 1 year old...its just fate i guess.

so we intervened...don't judge the cut, i did not attend or graduate from cosmetology school, nor did i feel like paying money to cut all of 25 hairs probably. I think it looks so much better, hopefully now it will grow out non-mullet style.

Survivor Update #2

two weeks update, forgot to update last week- how funny was ben in the challenge? he sucked. I want shambos hairdo! russell is one scary looking person...and what is up with the circles that dont grow hair? knew ryan was losing someone tonight, so glad it was ben. what is up with only one challenge per episode this season??

Making Chili Sauce

I made some chili sauce this weekend and canned it. It turned out great. I tried it today. I have never canned on my own before and am so proud it was a success!



we also got a ceiling fan up in audreys new room. hopefully next weekend we can get the room painted and audrey will be moved in once its ready. we want her to get used to the new room well before the new baby is born. so she doesnt feel kicked out by the new sibling.

Contact Fiasco Avoided

I forgot to write about a CRAZY contact incident. While traveling in Maine, I was sitting in a dark bedroom waiting for audrey to fall asleep- we had just arrived and I didn't want to just drop her off in a strange place and leave her, so I was sitting there and figured well i might as well take my contacts out while I am just sitting here. So I took them out and put them in their case. Ryan came into the room right as I was finished and I was going to have him turn on the light just to make sure they were in the case but I thought- nah its fine. I go to bed- put my sleeping bag on top of the strangers bed I am sleeping on. Sleep a few hours (thanks auds) wake up and get around, about an hour after being awake I go to put my contacts in and open the case and only one contact is there. i think the words Mother F-er were uttered...then I look to the bed frantic hoping that maybe somewhere my contact could be found. And there it is a green halfmoon flatten on the bed. I immediately put it in saline hoping that I can save it, esp since I didn't bring extras. After probably 30 minutes I reluctantly open the case back up and look at it, no rips, looks ok, put it in my eye - no pain! My contact was FINE! how lucky was I? So I slept on that contact all night and found it the next morning somehow. I guess I was having good karma that day.

Jean Jacket

I do most of audreys clothes shopping at consignment sales or in the clearance racks at kohls- (i'm sure she will NOT be proud of that when she is a teen) but the problem with this is I buy ahead of time and put in her closet, and then forget I have it- a couple shorts will not be worn by her cause I just found them and summer is almost over. BUT anyways the point of the post is I just found her jean jacket that I bought and think is so adorable on her.

Maine

Over labor day weekend we headed to the great state of maine. It was a long drive...we hit 7 states in one day. We arrived in portland at about midnight and stayed with a friend of ryans. It was very nice of him to allow us to get in that late. It was funny though to stay in a college persons room (his roomate) after being out of college for so long. Audrey loved all the 'toys' to play with. The next morning we got a driving tour of portland - such a cool little city. and we went out to eat breakfast.



Then we headed to freeport for some LL Bean shopping. We got great deals at the outlet store and got to window shop at the main store.

After Portland we head to Norway Maine to visit my friend Carrie- we stayed with her one night and enjoyed some 4-wheeler rides, cookout, and lots of laughs. Audrey was in awe of her two children.


Our final stop was in Unity to Maine to visit with Kevin and Lindsay. It was a great time seeing some cute little maine towns, eating lobster, playing lawn games, and drinking home brew

Eagles Game

Audrey went to her first NFL game, we got tickets from ryans work and went to the preseason eagles game. it was fun except for the 2+ hour drive in traffic, not getting to our seats until the second quarter and leaving halfway through the 3rd quarter, not really worth it to me. But now i know not to go to a football game on a thursday night.

i broke down and got audreys ears pierced...and i must say i think they are so cute. she cried for about 30 seconds and then was fine. She wasnt even crabby that day. it was much easier than i thought it was going to be.

5 years!!

14 months

Audrey is 14 months old today! Daycare celebrated with face painting!

Day at the pool

With temperatures reaching into the 90s this weekend, i planned for a day at the pool sunday. We raced to get all our chores done early in the morning with the plan that when audrey got up from her nap we would go for the rest of the day. ofcourse audrey took a 3+ hour nap...i actually had to wake her so we could go :) we still had plenty of sun and warmth at the pool- i might have gotten burnt if she hadnt slept so long.

Show us your life - wedding

This weeks show us your life is wedding parties and flowers from kellys korner

The flowers: I love roses and I thought the bright red against the white dress would look so nice in photos. so my bouquet was plain red roses. my maids of honors had white and pink roses mixed, and the other bridesmaids had white roses.


The unity candle table: the outdoor wedding caused the unity candle not to stay lit, thanks to chad we were able to complete the lighting of the candle. but i dont think the candle stayed lit for long.


The girls: from left is my friends carrie, kelly, nicole, nicole, my younger sister sarah and my older sister becky. my sisters were both maid of honor's. the bridesmaids wore mix and match tops from davids bridal, in periwinkle the only request was the tea length skirt. then my sisters wore matching tea lengths dresses. they all wore silver glitter shoes- i loved them so much i wore a pair too.



The boys: from left ryans brother junior (brian), his friends will, Brent, Patrick, Jeff, Kevin, and Chad. friends from all stages in life.


After the ceremony we went to a park and had our pictures taken, the pictures turned out great- but it took way too long! our guests werent too pleased.
