Jean Jacket

I do most of audreys clothes shopping at consignment sales or in the clearance racks at kohls- (i'm sure she will NOT be proud of that when she is a teen) but the problem with this is I buy ahead of time and put in her closet, and then forget I have it- a couple shorts will not be worn by her cause I just found them and summer is almost over. BUT anyways the point of the post is I just found her jean jacket that I bought and think is so adorable on her.

Maine

Over labor day weekend we headed to the great state of maine. It was a long drive...we hit 7 states in one day. We arrived in portland at about midnight and stayed with a friend of ryans. It was very nice of him to allow us to get in that late. It was funny though to stay in a college persons room (his roomate) after being out of college for so long. Audrey loved all the 'toys' to play with. The next morning we got a driving tour of portland - such a cool little city. and we went out to eat breakfast.



Then we headed to freeport for some LL Bean shopping. We got great deals at the outlet store and got to window shop at the main store.

After Portland we head to Norway Maine to visit my friend Carrie- we stayed with her one night and enjoyed some 4-wheeler rides, cookout, and lots of laughs. Audrey was in awe of her two children.


Our final stop was in Unity to Maine to visit with Kevin and Lindsay. It was a great time seeing some cute little maine towns, eating lobster, playing lawn games, and drinking home brew

Eagles Game

Audrey went to her first NFL game, we got tickets from ryans work and went to the preseason eagles game. it was fun except for the 2+ hour drive in traffic, not getting to our seats until the second quarter and leaving halfway through the 3rd quarter, not really worth it to me. But now i know not to go to a football game on a thursday night.

i broke down and got audreys ears pierced...and i must say i think they are so cute. she cried for about 30 seconds and then was fine. She wasnt even crabby that day. it was much easier than i thought it was going to be.

5 years!!

Audrey is 14 months old today! Daycare celebrated with face painting!

Day at the pool

With temperatures reaching into the 90s this weekend, i planned for a day at the pool sunday. We raced to get all our chores done early in the morning with the plan that when audrey got up from her nap we would go for the rest of the day. ofcourse audrey took a 3+ hour nap...i actually had to wake her so we could go :) we still had plenty of sun and warmth at the pool- i might have gotten burnt if she hadnt slept so long.

Show us your life - wedding

This weeks show us your life is wedding parties and flowers from kellys korner

The flowers: I love roses and I thought the bright red against the white dress would look so nice in photos. so my bouquet was plain red roses. my maids of honors had white and pink roses mixed, and the other bridesmaids had white roses.


The unity candle table: the outdoor wedding caused the unity candle not to stay lit, thanks to chad we were able to complete the lighting of the candle. but i dont think the candle stayed lit for long.


The girls: from left is my friends carrie, kelly, nicole, nicole, my younger sister sarah and my older sister becky. my sisters were both maid of honor's. the bridesmaids wore mix and match tops from davids bridal, in periwinkle the only request was the tea length skirt. then my sisters wore matching tea lengths dresses. they all wore silver glitter shoes- i loved them so much i wore a pair too.



The boys: from left ryans brother junior (brian), his friends will, Brent, Patrick, Jeff, Kevin, and Chad. friends from all stages in life.


After the ceremony we went to a park and had our pictures taken, the pictures turned out great- but it took way too long! our guests werent too pleased.

Baseball game

We took Audrey to her first MLB game this past friday night. Unfortunately there was a Jonas Brothers concert in the stadium next store (they share parking areas) and roads to get there. so traffic was awful. it took us 40 minutes to go 1 mile to the off ramp. then as we were on the off ramp i saw a flash- it was lightening. there was a wicked lightening storm for about 20 minutes, so once we got to the stadium we waited in our car. we were about to leave to go eat something and come back when the rain stopped and skies were clear. very strange weather. we went into the game and got to watch about 4 innings, before audrey started to get cranky. not too bad for 3 hours past her normal bedtime. she thoroughly enjoyed being in the stadium, i think she thought when people clapped they were clapping for her, i'm not sure if she even noticed the game going on.

Show us your Life - Wedding Dress

The show us where you live tour has ended, but dont worry there is more! this week is show us your wedding dress. I had to dig up some old pictures for this one. it makes me sad, cause i was so skinny then. ahhh the memories.

I got my dress at the Running of the Brides at Filenes basement in Boston. my sister and mom went down to filenes at like 5 in the morning to wait. some people had been waiting the whole night before- we werent that crazy. we ended up finding the perfect dress. it was quite an experience trying on dresses as fast as you could in a room full of people, trading dresses with people, hoping to find what you are looking for. Luckily we did! it had beading on the top part. And i got to wear a petticoat, so fun.

resting weekend

This summer it seems that we have travel plans every other weekend, so I cherish the weekends we get to rest. this weekend was one of them. saturday i got my haircut, not exactly what i was hoping for, i think my hair just doesnt have enough natural body to do the cute bob. it just hangs there and it just doesnt look like i wanted it to. oh well, it will grow out. here is a picture from sunday on our hiking trip. if i pull the hair up in the front i like it better. the back is really short, a bob.




so we did some housework too- ryan is putting up a wall at the top of the stairs so that we can put a gate up. if audrey starts walking it would be a constant worry. i have been having nightmares about her falling down them so i knew it was time for us to get a gate up. we have had to put the gate at the bottom of the stairs all the time because audrey has been going up them all the time now.

we went to the state park this morning and took the dogs so they could go swimming and murphy could fetch some ducks. they loved it, audrey loved to be in her backpack too. then I took a nap. that was pretty much our day.

July 4th weekend

This is a little late, but never late than never...


we went up to fayetteville for the 4th of july weekend. we checked out the green lakes playground, audrey took her first slide ride.



we got to meet ollie...it was all fun and games until audrey slammed ollies head to the floor....well she really did but i dont think she meant it. i see a bully in our future.



then we went swimming...well audrey did.



then we played some poker, lost all our money

Online Shopping Nightmare

All I wanted was this cute hello kitty mouse for my future laptop- which came alot sooner than i thought. however I have had a little problem getting the mouse.


I bought it from an online auction site similar to ebay. only its not bidding you just buy. this was May 4- on june 5 i realized i never got it. so i emailed the guy- here are the emails back and forth-

Show us where you live Friday- yards and garage

This weeks show us where you live is the yard and the garage from kellys korner.

Here is our front yard garden- we have since put mulch in, and a few new plants but this is pretty much it.



this is the side of the house, new this year we did this. there are two rose of sharons that are growing and we planted a lilac tree this summer, hopefully it makes it.


this is the raised bed garden we put in this spring. its doing GREAT, lots of tomatoes will get eaten soon.


this is our new garage doors, we had old dark brown wooden ones, i love the new doors


my dream car- a 1974 vw beetle. well my real dream would be that it ran :) but we are working on it. I got this on ebay 4 years ago. it was a steal.
