pottery class

so this week i started my pottery class, its an 8 week class at the wellsville creative arts center. right near where i work. it was alot of fun. i tried atleast 4 pots and only 2 actually made it. but then i cut them in half to make sure the thickness was good. next week i should be able to keep one of them i hope. it was so fun though. the place is so cool too, its a coffee house/art place. they have lots of classes. it reminds me a bit of zopies and starbucks in one. oh and an art class. too bad no ska bass player works there. :)

no tv again this week.

we are headed to syracuse for the weekend and taking off monday so we can watch the superbowl up there. i bet grammy, grampy, and auntie b cant wait for the pom poms and the beast :)

no tv week

so this week ryan and i have sworn off two things, tv and beer. i am not allowed to watch tv and ryan is not allowed to drink beer. so far we have got alot done this week. we are trying to finish the basement and i am suppose to be helping. its hard though not watching my shows. on the weekend i can catch up though. tonight we get to watch 1 show - grey's cause our DVR can only handle two shows... so that is nice.
we are also going to bed early which i love. i wonder how long this will last. i am hoping a month. but we will see, ryan loves his beer. :)

shrimpies

i think thats how you spell it... anyways plural shrimp. thats what we won. 6 lbs of shrimp. we were lucky. i wanted some lobsta tail and filets but we didnt win that.
and its a steak and shrimp raffle, i'm sure little ol'olean isnt the only place that has them. i bet snobby manlius has them :P
overall the night was fun, we drank free beer, well i didnt since i was dd. but everyone else did. ate a lot of really good food. and won some shrimp. so we'll bring shrimp to the super bowl party this year.

SNOW!!!

we have over a foot of snow- it is so nice! we played last night after work with the pups in the snow and then again this morning. Linus and Murphy just love it. Patty not so much. She sits by the fence waiting to get back in. she is such a princess sometimes. we video taped the playing today. I've never seen Murphy so happy.
And Ryan got to use the plow on the 4-wheeler too. since we bought that plow i think we have only needed to use it 4 times.

Today i need to get some pictures copied and go to the grocery store. we are out of everything. tonight we are going to some raffle at the high school. should be a good time i suppose.

we saw Over the Hedge last night, i thought it was pretty good. funny. and it was only an hour which was a bonus. then we watched Ricky bobby. i thought that was good too. next netflix i have coming is breakfast at tiffanys. I'm so excited to see that one.

grammar mistakes

i got an interesting email at work today, i'll post a portion of it because it really made me feel stupid...
i'll premise this with the fact that i sent him an email asking for something, and he was confused with what i wanted. so this is the third email iteration.

Please re-read your emails for clarity and grammar mistakes. Next time you write to me, save it in drafts, then come back to it in an hour and proofread it. (I was an English major in college.) a long time

wow its been a while since i have updated, i cant believe i haven't got any harassing email from becky.
we are watching syriana tonight- i hope its good.
not too much is going on here in portville. my friend nicole and her husband are coming to visit for the weekend, we are having a game night at our house saturday night.
i think we are going to start trying again discipline patty and linus, get them to listen to us. murphy is well on his way to being the best listener, if only he would stop peeing on things. we went to ryans parents and he peed on their basement pole and the bed. agh.
ryan has been finishing the basement, he put up a little room for storage- it looks very nice. I'll have to take some pictures and post them. he finally finished the shed last weekend, started it in april 2005 - finished january 2007. record time :)

xmas

well christmas is over...and it left me with a stomach bug. i have not been feeling well for 3 days now. today i am doing better but everytime i eat i get a terrible stomach ache... and fill up really fast. maybe it will help the diet though :)

it was a great christmas though, i got tons of great stuff.- lots of hk. i havent used my mixer yet but tonight i might test it out. it was a jam packed weekend, we went out for ryans b-day. then saturday we got our annual pictures taken- i cant wait until we get them. then we went to the casino where i lost $40. sunday we cooked and watched/listened to football. monday was the big day- then i got sick.

work is a bit boring this week, i am the only person from my team here so its lonely. i have been getting out right at 4 though, so thats a plus. i feel a little guilty only working my 8 hours- isnt that terrible??

this weekend we are headed to SYR for NYE... cant wait, should be a good time

Happy Birthday Ryan!

Today is ryans birthday! he is 29!! so old...ha ha ha
i got him a book from kodak.com of murhpys pictures, its nice. and then a buffalo bills jersey. i told him he needed to pick a new team, one that was good. but he is stubborn and wouldnt so i got him a jersey.

everyone is coming today, i think i am ready. i had to clean off the beds that were full of presents and we put our christmas tree up wednesday night. Today ryan is picking up our new bench for the mudroom, so that should be all set for the weekend.

Tonight is a big night to go out, everyone i used to work with will be out so it should be a good time.

Does anyone have a male dog that they did not neuter??? Ours has taken to "marking his territory" all over our house. he has not peed in the house since his first week at it and now he has started this. the only thing i can think of is because he is male, esp since my girls have never done this. any help???

video camera

so excited, last night we got an early christmas present when we went to ryans parents for dinner. we got a video camera!!! i've been taping all night....its a bit boring at our house but the camera sure makes it more fun. this christmas we are going to have to do some newscasts i think.

i have to make some peanut brittle tonight, hopefully i will get my 10 dozen made. this weekend i am going to a cookie exchange party and need 10 dozen. lots of work.... but when i get 10 dozen cookies it will all be worth it.

I HATE home improvement projects

Lets see...As you know Ryan likes to do home improvement projects...Lots of them at once I should add.
yesterday was a typical plan for Ryan-
get up and go to the gravel pit (which was closed) go to hardware store to get some of his supplies (not all of them) go home dig a ditch across the driveway so we cant park in the driveway. Go hunting for a few hours. get the wagon from his parents so he can use the gravel he already spread somewhere else to use in the ditch he dug. at 7pm after dinner START plumbing a new washer and dryer line in the basement. mind you to put new lines in for the washer you need to cut the main water lines. meaning NO WATER in the house. well at about 9:45pm he cant finish cause he broke a piece of pipe and needs a new one, and no stores are open. So now its 10pm and we still don't have water because he cut the lines and cant finish it.
its now 1:33pm and we still don't have water and we still cant get in and out of our driveway. junior came over to help though- so maybe something can get finished.

Dog adventure weekend

It was quite an adventurous weekend with the dogs. Ryan started hunting yesterday morning so it was all me with the dogs. I got to sleep in since Ryan wasn't there pestering me to get up, so I slept until 10- 10:30 and I got up and decided to take the girls into town for a walk.... I cant walk the girls and Murphy so I was going to leave him in the fence. He didn't like that idea at all though- he kept trying to escape out of the fence when I was letting the girls out. So then I remembered I hadn't fed him breakfast. So I fed him and snuck out of the fence and we left. I was about 3 houses down on our main road when I looked in the rear view mirror and there was Murphy booking after me. I pulled over and put him in the car. If he wants to go somewhere he goes!!! It was so scary though, luckily I saw him or else he would have been on the main road for atleast a half hour. He could have been killed!

back to work tomorrow though.... ryan has the whole week off- lucky. i cant wait for thanksgiving...lots of good sales.

we made some more beer tonight, emilys amber, hopefully it will be ready to taste test for christmas- becky you better have your taste test license by then.

walks

i took the girls on a walk everyday this weekend, i am so proud, i havent done that in months i bet. they are such better dogs when i walk them daily. unfort. my new job is alot longer hours its seems than my last.

we went to see borat last night, i thought it was funny, but not THAT funny. it was so embarressing, i went to get popcorn with my old bag from the last time i went to the movies....and i walk into the concession area and looked at the popcorn bags on top of the counter and they changed the large bag!!! i turned around and walked back by the ticket guuy.... i was soooo embarressed! how dare they?! i still had a refill on that popcorn bag :) i saved it though, just incase they go back to the original bag. ha ha ha

today was a lazy day watching football....the bills almost won, which was good cause ryan wasnt too irrate during the game. other than that not too much happened this weekend.

new car!!!

so i got my new car tonight- its so cute!!

rav4

oh just a reminder- lots of people still owe me their $5 for the survivor pool...so pay up! especially if you are already eliminated....

well i went to the toyota dealer today with total intention of buying a used highlander....and well plans changed and we got a 2007 rav4!! i'm excited. the color is a dark blue very similar, probably the same as my dads scion. i should get it next week probably by wednesday. i'm a little sad to say goodbye to the bug but relieved too. so i said i would never buy a new car again- i lied i guess. i got $5400 for my bug though. i am very happy with that.

then we went to the casino and i lost $1.78, ryan lost $20. we ate at the buffet too. it was so good. they had the chocolate fountain out with rice krispies to dip in. i just love the fountain.

all in all a good day. i cant wait to get my new car...whooo hooo

people really need to get a life

weekend over

well the weekend is over...no fun. work has been so hectic and long hours that i am not looking forward to tomorrow. its going to be this busy for months. the weekends are going to mean so much more than they did before. last week i worked 4- 12 hour days and then 8. augh.
so this weekend i got my bug back- its time to search for a new car now. turns out the dealership in PA made me pay for my water pump- then turned around and put a warranty claim on their own into VW!! scum...

we cleaned the basement today, we are going to start to finish it off. first step is to move the washer and dryer to the basement though. i took pictures of our progress, but i havent got them on the internet yet. but i did load over 100 pictures off my camera and i think 95% of them were our dogs....you can tell what exciting lives we live. i'll link them up here, incase anyone wants to see our pups.

we took family photos of the dogs halloween costumes, ryan let me buy murphy a cute coat from old navy.

it was also suggested that i start putting up an entry to state who got voted off survivor each week- so just a warning that if you dont watch it thursday nights dont check my blog friday unless you want to know who gets voted off.

cold

it was freezing here this morning- i had to scrap ice and i didnt even have my icescraper in my car yet. actually i dont have my car- i am driving ryans truck. we took my bug up to buffalo this weekend to have the water pump fixed- it is still overheating. luckily the part is under warranty so i shouldnt have to pay for it. we went to dinner at red lobster and we had to eat off paper plates and utensils because there is a water advisory in buffalo - due to the storm. and they are like on survivor where you have to boil the water for 2 mins before you can drink it. it was an experience. very good though.

then yesterday i had to come into work to help with inventory. i wanted to shoot ryan for answering the phone :)

this weekend we are going to the bills/patriots game with becky and her friend. its going to be fun!!!! i just hope not cold and rainy. last time we went to a game it was awful weather. and i swore i would never go to another game. ha ha

wedding

well this weekend was nicoles wedding. it was alot of fun. i got to see so many people i hadnt seen in years. it was decided for me that i have to plan a camping trip for everyone next summer. sooo start giving me some good dates for people. it will probably be in the lake george area since a few people have boats and that seems to be a conviant place for people to go to. it is 6 hours for us but i guess we can handle it.

the bug is still leaking antifreeze- and i havent got confirmation that the warranty will cover the breakdown in PA. i am hating the bug more and more. but the thought of not having it is sad too.

linnie and patty didnt complain too much about their trip to auntie B's so i think becky was civil to them. big step for her :)

garlic festival

today we went to the garlic festival today in cuba. it was nice. we got 6 garlics- all different types all locally grown. apparently the garlic in grocery stores is from china! and we got some garlic dip spices. we made the tomato garlic today it was yummy. we had steaks tonight too with cloves of garlic in it. we probably smell so good right about now.

we got alot done this weekend. alot of cleaning and home improvements, alot of the nuisance stuff that just had to get done.

i got my bug back tuesday after $1280!!! and then it stalled on thursday and overheated on my way home friday. oh and the radio doesnt work. i dont know what to do i am sooooo sick of this car.

Last night we went out to dinner and then to a bar. it was fun- alittle dead out but i had a good time and i was DD so we didnt have to get a cab.

Cant wait to hear how the beer tour went in SYR

weekend #1 in albany

this was the first weekend of 3 that i will be in albany. It was nicole's shower. Here are the pics. Nicole was a very good sport about the whole thing, i thought the dress up was a riot. Sarah BEWARE!!
I also got linus her halloween costume. it is soo cute. there are pictures in there of her too.

my bug is finally done- they haven't told me the cost yet but i am going to get it tomorrow. i can't wait. i just want my car back.

today we had to go to a funeral for one of ryans friend, who husband (27!!) just died of a heart attack. It was SOOOO SAD. i cant imagine- and they have a 1 yr old son. just cant even imagine what she is going through.

Bucky on the loose

this morning when we got up there were flares up on the road in front of our street. i thought there was an accident or something but it was a roadblock and the st troopers were checking all the cars coming through. when ryan went through town there was another block and it was backing up traffic all through town. apparently last night someone tried to break into the pharmacy and they think it was bucky. SCARY. we have to lock everything up tonight. i guess over a month ago he stole a car from portville. he lived here years ago i guess.
oh in case people didnt know the story- a guy "bucky" phillips escaped from a prison near buffalo and has been on the run since april. they suspect he killed a trooper this weekend. the trooper died sunday and he is the main suspect. crazy.

OBX RECAP

Well we made it back and it only took 16 hours to drive back. We picked up a u-haul and then picked up my bug....took it to Du Bois, PA then dropped the u-haul off. We had some directions trouble in finding the VW dealership. thank god we made it. it was quite cramped in the silverado with 6 people but not too bad.
we got home at 11:00 pm and asleep by midnight. we had to get up early to get to the dogs. they seemed to be okay at the kennel. they had some funny stories. murphy was the "blanket stealer". Every morning when they came in to the kennel murphy had taken the blankets from the cages on both sides of him. and linus was the "social" one, cause everytime they let them out linus would have to stop and visit every dog in their cage. so funny. linus and patty both have a hoarse cough, but i think its because they probably barked for a week straight. Patty has one eye that seems to be bothered. hopefully it will be better tomorrow. i have some old ointment from before that we put in her eye.
the trip was fun, i am still pretty itchy from my sunburn. i think i got some sun rash.

tonight ryan picked a huge green "zuccini" and cath informed me today that it was a pumpkin!!! you learn something new everyday. ha ha ha

OBX

we are in the outer banks this week. we have had lots of fun so far... boring is not a word that can be used so far. my bug blew up on the way down, so we had to squeeze into ryans parents truck for half of the trip. i talked to the mechanic yesterday and they said the 'motor' was bad. they are going to have another person look at it. there is only 92k miles on it so i am not happy. i have a warranty of 7 years or 100k so i might have this covered we will see.
saturday we hit 3 hours of almost deadstop traffic. sunday it was beautiful weather - we went to the beach all day. yesterday it rained alot of the morning and then becky decided to drink a couple of 20 oz chocolate martini's and just about died in the pool. nurse sarah took care of her though and she made it. Only after puking in the pool ALOT. she doesnt remember much- i have some pictures though. i will be sure to post them.

getting geared up for going to Syracuse this weekend. I have been trying to walk the dogs everyday this week - cause that is the dog whisperer's biggest thing is work, discipline, then affection. and work is walking. last night we tried to do what he did with the vacuum cleaner cause I cant vacuum with patty or linus in the house cause they attack the cleaner. but it worked last night doing what he said. I'm so impressed. my dogs have hope.

busy busy

well i have been a little busy so i havent been able to update the blog. unfort. my new job does not allow me the luxury of surfing the net and checking email all day.... i have to actually earn my pay.

we are (well ryan is) doing housework today. he got 3 truck loads of gravel to put under murphys cage and under the deck. he has been moving the gravel since about one. i have been cleaning inside.

murphy is doing good. he was 20 lbs on thursday when we took him to the vet. getting bigger everyday i think. ryan has sit and stay pretty much down. now ryan has to learn how to duck hunt since he will be training murphy to go get the ducks he has to learn to kill. funny how boys think. backwards that is. lets get a dog and train him on something you dont even do. ugh. i wish dogs could retrieve deer. since we already have the million dollars of supplies for that hobby. i need an expensive hobby. hmmm.... any ideas?

only 2 weeks to nc. i am so excited for it. this is our last weekend of rest for a while. next weekend we are going to syracuse then our trip to the OBX and then my friend is getting married on labor day. Then i go to Albany for nicoles shower...two weeks later back to albany for the bachelorette party... two weeks later the actual wedding. then rest.

monday

So the puppy has been a handful. ryans mom watched them friday and saturday night and sunday morning she was WAITING for us to come take them. he chews on alot of things, that wouldnt be so bad if linus wasnt barking, growling, and chasing him all over. i feel bad for the both of them- linus is truly bothered by him- she wont relax and poor murphy gets attacked any time he breathes wrong around linus.

work has been good- starting over though kind of sucks. i work with really nice people and i dont think it will take long but its still an adjustment period. and i seriously think i have a neon light on my head when i walk in the plant. its like these people have never been out in public before- no manners i tell you.

we watched tristan and isolde last night. it was a good movie- enertaining. this weekend was a friend of ryans wedding. i had a very good time. friday night we went to the ellicottville brewing company for the rehearsal dinner and then saturday the wedding was at the ski resort. they were suppose to get married outside but it poured all day. they got married inside and it was very nice.

yesterday i saw a black snake in the side yard, and i was in my bare feet. i was so scared. ryan was mowing the lawn and i was screaming and jumping up and down to get his attention. i finally got him to see me - he went over to the snake and tried to pick him up and the snake tried to bite him. so ryan had to kill him. i was soooo freaked out though. then i was convinced to mow the lawn and while i was mowing something moved in the grass right near where my mom had also seen a snake. so i got all freaked out again. It was only a toad - but it was horrible, i was hysterical and ryan just looked at me like i was crazy. i dont want to even step foot on the grass anymore. i read that snakes like loose dirt and tall grass. so i told ryan we are going to gravel the whole yard.

lots to report on

so there is so much to tell you about...
first off terrible news- murphy has a heart murmur. and ryan called the breeder (Gun Creek Labradors) and they dont think they are responsible for the vet bills associated with it. AND they didnt even have him see a vet before we got him. The breeder gave him his first shots. Ridiculous that they get away with that. ryan is talking with his vet and the breeder. but i think we need to threaten that we will get a lawyer and take out an ad in the paper over this.

most terrible news- i turned 28 today! god i'm old.

this weekend was the italian fest. fun fun. becky came to visit. she has all the details on her blog.

i did get tons of good stuff today though- ryan got me the cool new clogs that are everywhere, a linus doll bobble head, and margarita fixins. cath got me tons of little cakes, daisies, and a red sox sweatshirt, sarah and jr got me an old navy gift card, carrie got me the wreckers cd and a cute new hello kitty shirt that ryan would have never let me buy, hopefully becky is getting me laguna beach season 2 on dvd. :)

2 days to go

only two more days and i am done with my current employer. whooo hoooo. i cant tell you how excited i am. tomorrow they are a having a lunch for me, i am probably going to have to say some sort of speech. but i dont want to.

murphy pee'd inside for the first time last night. and ryan took him outside in the pouring rain and thunder and lightening...hopefully he is so tramatized that he will never do it again.

reunion weekend

so reunion weekend is done....finally. It was a fun but long weekend. We went to the parkwood Friday night and there was a large turnout. We partied all night. When we got home at 2:30 I passed out and Ryan had to play with Murphy for a bit, then he went to sleep for about 2 hours and then Murphy started crying so Ryan had to get up. he slept in the office next to the cage, in the doorway using my workbag as a pillow, and outside in the yard. so he didn't get much sleep, a puppy is a slot of work :) Then Saturday we had to get up early and go to a picnic. We brought Murphy and he slept alot of the day. Saturday night we went to a dinner that the average age was 70. it was good food but kind of boring. We then went out to the bars again. most of us were exhausted, so we weren't a ton of fun. We went to granny's (and they are under new ownership) and a bachelorette party came in and apparently asked the DJ to play some different music. they were playing terrible music for a Saturday night. and the owner came up to the bachelorette and told her that "we don't play n-word music here" so the party left and informed us of what he said. needless to say we pretty much finished our drinks and left. I wont be frequenting that bar again. and Ryan tries to tell me the people aren't racist here. I guess there are racist people anywhere, but come on....it was as if I was in SC again. and why a bar "service" would not give its customers what they want is beyond me. I know I am going to tell everyone I know not to go there. I hope the guy goes out of business.

Murphy

Murphy is the name of the new puppy. I liked charlie better (to go with Linus and Peppermint Patty) but ryan said no. he is mean sometimes.

Murphy apparently cried all day yesterday my neighbor told me. so that is not good. luckily grammy and grampy stayed over last night after the pearl party and were able to keep him company today. cath went out this morning and he was crying and shivering in his dog house. poor baby.

linus is still not liking him at all. lucy and franklin and mindy came over yesterday and all seem to be okay with him. its just linus who hates him.

puppy

well we finally got the puppy-
we picked him up last night and he cried the whole car ride home- well he cried, then puked on me, then fell asleep. he is so adorable. here is the link to the pictures. some are from our camping trip and cleveland trip this weekend.

patty seemed fine with him, sniffed him and then went on her normal way. Linus however is scared of him. her ears are down and she will bark at him when he cries. and if he makes any sudden movement she runs away. very not like her. she even went in her cage on her own last night. she has done that maybe once in her life. I'm a little concerned about her.

one week to go

one week from today we will have our new puppy. they added new pictures on the link, so check them out again. we need to start getting our house ready. we also got our new fence for him and need to put it up.
this weekend we are going camping and then going to cleveland to see wicked and the yankees/indians game. then when we get back its puppy time.

fiesta

so the fiesta went off without a hitch.... i'll post some pictures tonight maybe i havent even put them on my computer yet though. so it will probably be tomorrow. Our dogs are still exhausted from the excitement of the party. all the kids just loved the dogs.
yesterday after we cleaned and ate at spragues and cath and mike went camping- we sat on the couch and watched 5 episodes of greys anatomy. it is such a good show!!
tonight we are watching some more.

vacation day

we took today off from work to try and get ready for our fiesta.

its official so i can write about it on the blog- i am quitting my job and got another one. i'm going to be working for the same company as ryan but at a different location. should be a good change for me. Less stress and more money. i'm excited. i start on july 17. they announced it at work. my boss still hasnt even said anything to me about it. strange. i'm excited though for a change.

last night we watched donnie darko, it was a bit strange, but good. i dont think i paid enough attention to it.

tonight there were thunder and lightening storms...so cool.

i stained the steps and the picnic table too. they are going to look very nice. i am starting to clean inside the house now. ryan still has a LONG way to go on the garage. i dont think its going to be done in time for the fiesta.

we decided to take a vacation day friday to get ready though- looks like we are going to need it. sucks to take vacation days to work around the house.

yesterday we went to ryans parents house for fathers day- they cooked chicken, it was really good. and their pool was open so i got to swim. felt so good. linus was so good with jordyn (she 2 and half) Jordyn would take the rope we tied to linus (cause she likes to run away) and walk around the yard with her. If linus went the other direction it would pull the rope right out of her hand and she would run after her going "mindy, come here." but linus never got nasty with her...patty would have.

house projects

well tonight ryan and jr did work on the garage...it took all night and they only got 3 pieces of drywall hung. its going to be a very long time until the garage is done. i however was much more productive. i painted all the trim on the outside of the house (becky you'd be so happy) and then i got our street sign all ready to post in the ground. So by the time of the chicken fiesta there will actually be a road sign.













i didnt get to "w" the dogs though. the only thing i didnt get done. it was hot though 73 when i came home. i filled their pool for them.

we have had 2 really nice weather days. i think tomorrow is going to be nice too.

tomorrow i am taking an excel class through work- hopefully i will learn a bunch.

ANOTHER SUNDAY

the clambake was alot of fun. it was way too cold though. i wore my mittens for most of the day. i wasnt as hungover this sunday as i was last sunday, but not 100%. i HATE people who do not get hungover. stress the HATE part. we started drinking at 3:30 pm. we got home probably at midnight. today we went to the first church picnic of the summer, transfiguration picnic. i had lazy gulumpkees and pierogies... good polish food.

i took a few pictures of my garden, i will put them up on the blog soon.

i finally got tickets for wicked on ebay. i'm so excited for cleveland now. we are going july 2nd-4th. then on the 5th is the day we get murphy.

hurricane season

today is the first day of hurricane season....for those in the power business its big news.

i made a strawberry rhubarb pie yesterday, sooo good. i used phyllo dough for the crust though to cut points, i dont think i would do that again, it was too messy to eat and now its soggy.

it is pouring here...and it has been raining all day... so no gardening today. hopefully tomorrow i will be able to get them in.

hot

it is so freakin hot here....
it was like 90 i think... unbearable
we got home at 8:30 last night and put the air conditioner in the
window. it was essential. in the process we saw atleast 3 brown
spiders. i was afraid they were brown recluse spiders (deadly) we
caught one, but after checking on the internet i dont think it is.

we went to boston this weekend to move becky back to syracuse...check
out her blog to see some pictures. i will put my pictures up tomorrow
i hope.

i havent been to work in 5 days. its going to be so hard to
go back. i had leadership cattaraugus today. it was education day. we
got to tour BOCES, and they do the neatest stuff there. way more
practical learning then things learned in class rooms. i dont think
our school offered that.

hmmm what else did i need to write about...this weekend is ryans big
game...anyone in the area should go. portville is actually suppose to
win this year.

i planted today and tomorrow i am going to go buy a bunch of
flowers...so the next few days are all going to planting. actually is
suppose to rain from now until saturday atleast.

rain

it rained all day today.... not good. and it got very cold, its the
first time we have used our heat in a long time.

i have another bug update.... i was too ashamed the next day to write
about it. thursday when i went to drive my bug to work i didnt take
the garage out this time, but about 2 miles down the road i heard a
ping and then the accelerator wouldnt work. i was going down a hill
into portville so i pulled over when i could. When i pulled over i
couldnt get the out of the ignition. it was terrible. some guy
stopped and was looking at it- he said he had never seen anything
like it (the key). I still don't know whats wrong with it. I need to
call a mechanic i think. oh well i called ryan and he was already at
work, so he had to leave and come get me. so we hooked the bug up to
his truck and drove home. it was so scary, i had to drive it and i
was so afraid that i was going to go crashing into the back of ryans
truck.

hopefully this week i will figure out whats wrong with it.

we got alot done on the garage this weekend- i am going to get some
pictures up someday...maybe when its finished

new carb!!

I'm so excited!!!!!! i took my carb out of my green bug again last
night and i had ordered another carb on ebay- for parts. I learned
alot just from having a carb that was put together- and i was able to
take mine apart and i tokk a piece of it to work to have some work
done on a part - then tonight i put it all back together - which took
FOREVER, but when it was all put together i started it up and it ran
without stalling! i was so excited, i actually had to turn it off
which i hadnt had to do this year. I didnt get to drive it to see if
it will stall when i down shift but i am hoping to drive it tomorrow.
So exciting, i feel like i actually accomplished something.

ryan has found his puppy, it was born saturday. we are going to pick
him up on july 4th.

the batman

so Tuesday we had the bat man come to our house and he said we don't have that bad of a problem, they have probably been there 2 years. he put up a net with duct tape on the outside of the chimney where they are getting in. and caulked up all the holes in the attic and used expanding foam too. He thinks he plugged the hole that the bees came in through last summer. So Tuesday night we watched the bats come out of their hole and into the net. then they had to shimmy down the side of the house to get free, apparently the next morning when they came back they wouldn't be able to figure out how to get back in, so they would go find a new home. I hope it worked. this weekend Ryan has to take the net down and seal the hole. All of this cost $200. Not too bad. There isn't enough bat poop to bother cleaning, not enough to be harmful so that is good.

I drove the green beetle to work yesterday and I was
backing out of the garage and thought it would be a good idea to turn around
in the driveway.... well I misjudged the bumper and hit the garage door
frame and took off the green molding.... I also scratched the paint on my fender. I was mad. I didn't think it was big deal but when Ryan got home he did. I figured we could just nail the wood back on but apparently bob the builder says we need a new piece.

The bug stalls every time I down shift STILL, kind of embarrassing. I bought a new carb on Ebay, but it hasn't arrived yet. I was reading online at vw sites and I could have an air leak. so this weekend I need to check it out.

bats!!!!!!

we got home tonight after taking the old bug to the ice cream place and our neighbor came running over to tell us that they just saw 5 bats fly out from between our house and chimney. Ryan couldnt believe it so we stood there for a few minutes and i finally saw 2 more fly out!! It was horrible! So then we came in and checked on the internet and apparently ryan thinks that all the mouse "poop" was really bat poop, which is very dangerous to humans. UGH its horrible!!! so ryan called the pest control guy and it is going to be quite extensive for them to be removed. why us??? last summer we had bees...and apparently bats too.

i got burnt today on the march of dimes walk. the girls made the walk no problem, i was so impressed. It was such a nice weekend. yesterday we went to home depot and got all the supplies to finish the shed and garage. so exciting. ryan starting painting the shed doors today and i got a new shelf painted and into the basement. we need to get the shed/garage finished in time for our bbq.

anyways the guy that is going to remove the bats is coming here tuesday....wish us luck

Sunday

Well its sunday night, we got alot done this weekend. Friday night we watched brokeback mountain. i liked it alot, ryan thought it was different than he had expected. but he didnt hate it. he was actually somewhat mature during the movie...i was surprised. i did think it was better than becky had made it out to be.

saturday we went to wellsville to get ryans trailer. then we got a roller from ryans grandfather so we could roll our lawn. then saturday i made a texas sheet cake for ryans moms birthday which was today. we then went out to the parkwood for a few drinks and ended up staying until midnight.

Today we cleaned up the house because we had ryans family over for his moms birthday. they are redoing their kitchen so they cant cook anything. ryan made ritzy chicken, it was very good. the texas sheet was so good. i sent most of it with people who left though. noone got less than 4 pieces. hope you liked it cath and mike.

Tuesday we have our first leadership catt session. it is my groups turn to host the session...i'm kind of nervous cause i have to doing the opening message. but atleast i will get mine over and i will be able to enjoy some of the day.

sugar withdrawl

My body is revolting against me since not everything going in it is sugar.... I ate so much candy this weekend. Luckily when we got home last night Ryan ate all of the whoppers so I couldn't.

we had a very fun weekend in Syracuse, we went bowling Friday night. after two games though everyone but my dad stopped playing so I had to bowl for 7 people...in two lanes. I was pooped after another game. a girl at the bowling alley had a pink hello kitty ball!! I was so jealous. Got lots of shopping done too. we got 3 beer kits so we can make some more beer. We need to drink some of the Irish stout we made, I think we have only drank 2 bottles of it.

Last night when we got home we raked some of the stones out of our yard that the plow had pushed during the winter. I HATE that job. pisses me off so bad, b/c the plow guy doesn't have to ever rake so what does he care where he pushes the stones. I think we are going to put a little fence up for decoration so that the plow can't go so far into our yard.

for some reason I seem to have extra time at work today...I must be forgetting to do something. hmmm I'll probably find out tomorrow what it was.

shock

i cant believe they voted austin off. i was so convinced that bruce would vote for aras. i dont like that bruce. i hope they vote him off next. terry should have given him the idol before the vote. atleast he is on the jury. it was a good survivor though.

so i just found out that nicoles wedding and my friend from college are getting married on the same day....a few miles from each other. what are the chances of that?! now i have to decide which one to go to. ha ha!!! (kidding nicole)

i finally found a good enough picture of linus, i'll put it up one of these days. i am going to start painting it soon. becky the paper i have is canvas paper, does it matter what side i paint on?

no plans this weekend, kind of nice. especially when we look at our summer schedule, its going to be nuts. starting in may.

A Bug's Life

so. I decided to take the bug out for a "spin" I figured that it wont stay running in the garage because it needs to get going and moving in order to warm up. I was wrong. way wrong. I drove it down the hill and shifted into 2nd and started to turn in the culdasac. when I heard a bang and it stalled. of course I was at the bottom of the hill and couldn't get it going again. And btw ryan wasn't home to help me. so I went back to the house and got the 4-wheeler and dragged it back up to the driveway, I didn't think it all the way through though. I backed into the driveway and the bug didn't want to turn cause the wheels weren't turned. so I pulled it into the driveways bank and got into the bug to get the brake on. Somehow I finally got the bug back into the garage. I cut my hands all up on the wench and cursed the bug up and down. I definitely think the 4-wheeler was worth buying now though.... my neighbors must get a good laugh out of me.

tuesday

does anyone watch the unit? it is so good- everyone should watch it. its about this secret department in the army that goes on secret missions and basically doesnt exist. i dont understand though why we would give the general public all this info. cause all our tv shows are watched in other countries. then we wonder why we get bombed.
anyways its on tonight and i love it.

I have been trying to get my bug running for 2 days now...no luck. i got my new battery in hoping it would be the fix...knowing that it wouldnt be though. and it wasnt. maybe tomorrow i can get some help. i need to have the oil changed too but i will leave that to my mechanic.

patty had her teeth cleaned yesterday and it was only $80. i think fayetteville is trying to rip people off when they clean their dogs teeth.

sick

i'm still sick, i slept most of the day...it was so nice. we had our leadership retreat this weekend. ryan and i are both doing a leadership program for the county. there are 22 people in the program and its 10 months long. we go once every month now for 9 months. i think its going to be a great resume addition. plus i will learn lots about the area...and hopefully not be so negative about it all the time.

so not much has been going on lately. i got my carb back in the bug but i still need to do some adjustments. next saturday i can take it out on the road, as long as its not salty. i have a few things i need to buy for it, a new battery is the main thing. this bug is much easier to change the battery thank god.

patty is going in for her teeth cleaning tomorrow, i'm hoping it wont break the bank. shes had no food or water since noon. poor baby. i think i finally found a 'paintable' picture of linus. i seriously took about 140 pics to get it. she is just not photogenic like patty. half of them have her tongue sticking out. i never realized how often she does that.

st pattys day

tomorrow is such a good day. i'm so excited, i am taking a half day of vacation. ryan and I are getting out at 11, going to the Y then going to lunch and drink drink drink. i think its going to be a sloppy night. fun fun. i am bringing my beeleybop's to wear. which reminds me - becky you never wore the ones i got you in vegas! how rude........

i have been so busy at work i havent had a moment to catch up on the blog. so last weekend we went to albany for nicoles house warming party. so fun.

patty got groomed today, i had them cut her butt and legs a little shorter this time cause she sometimes gets some unmentionables on her butt hair, cause its so long. she looks a little ridiculous right now, kindof like a mindy butt- but it will grown in.

ryan tried our irish tout tonight- after he broke a bottle in the basement, agh. wasting our precious beer. it tastes pretty good, kinda like the IPA though :) tomorrow when i drink the real stuff i should be able to tell better. its been forever since i have had a guiness though.

oscars!!

tonight is the oscars, i am excited. i hope jake g wins for brokeback mountain. oh i am pissed. i read in the paper last sunday that brokeback mountain was coming to wellsville movie theater so i asked ryan if we could go on saturday and he actually said yes. so i was so excited. well yesterday he called to see what time it was showing and last thursday was its last night!! so upset. i missed my chance to see it.

it has been a very busy week for me, a guy i work with is out for 3 days and so i am doing extra work, plus its a busy time anyways. ugh. i went in today for a few hours.

ryan and i are going to bottle our latest beer- an irish stout tomorrow. hopefully it is ready by st pattys day.

more vegas

okay soooo.......

tuesday we watched the view and then shopped and went sight seeing.
we spent forever in the forum shops. lots of really high end stores
which we only window shopped but it was fun.

tuesday night we went to dinner at margaritaville and sat outside and
it was freezing. we thought drinking lots would help- but it didnt.
just got me drunk. i slept for an hour after we did sparklers off the
balcony in beckys room. then went back down to the casino to gamble
with ryan and my mom until 2 in the morning. it was fun- i won $3
that night.

overall i lost lots. wednesday night we went to see O - cirque de
soliel. it was awesome. it was a water based show.

having to go back to work friday wasnt as bad as i thought it would
be, i am pretty much caught up so that tomorrow should be back to
normal. i hope so cause i have to leave early to go to an aerobics
class. i need to get back into going to the gym. ryan gained 4.5 lbs
over our vacation, i didnt even weigh in, i was too afraid.

yesterday we brewed our irish stout beer, hopefully it will be ready
by st patricks day. and i took apart my bugs carbuerator. i am going
to put it back together today. it has been soaking in cleaning
solution all night.

oh ryan and i went to see eight below last night- it was so sad. the
huskies are so cute and reminded me of poopsie too much. the movie is
only a little sad if you havent recently had to put your husky to
sleep. if i ever get another dog it will be a husky.

home

we got home thursday night just in time for survivor.

vegas was so fun. we jammed so much stuff in. i am going to get the pictures up on the internet today and i will send them out. we got to vegas monday morning about 11. we had no problems getting there, thank god. not sure i really like the way southwest does things. cause if you are late then you would get crappy seats. or if your connecting flight was late you would get crappy seats. but it was cheap so i cant complain.

we went sightseeing at the stratosphere monday night then we went to old vegas to see this fabulous light show that cathy and becky kept talking about. we ate buffet too, i think i tried every desert there. i totally blew my diet. but anyways the light show was pretty dissappointing. it was all gambling scenes. we were so exhausted since we had been up since 3 that morning. so we went back to our casino and gambled a bit. oh we met up with my friend taryn from school too. becky had given her our tickets to the view and she told us that there were lots of seats empty that morning. soooo we decided that the next morning we would try to go see the view.

the next morning we woke up at 5:30 ish to a very loud crash followed by an alarm (like a car alarm) i thought it was a bomb... it really scared me. so anyways we find out later it was a swat team going through the window of the casino next to us. at midnight the night before a 22 yr old shot another 22 yr old in the hotel, then ran into a room and 5 hours later the swat team finally got him. crazyness.

we saw the view tuesday morning, it was so cool. the guests were rosanne barr, wolfgang puck, and the chippendales. i got lots of pictures. it was very cold though, we had to sit outside to wait to get in and then the taping was also outside. we froze.

ok ryan is insisting that i get off his computer so i will finish later....

valentines day dinner

well Ryan and I went to dinner at spragues... we waited about 40 minutes to sit down... right after we got our salads Ryan noticed an ambulance outside the window. so I look around the room looking for some commotion that prompted the ambulance...nothing. then 3 EMT guys run by our booth and go to a booth in the same row as us (so I couldn't see what was going on....luckily) Being Cathy's daughter- I rubberneck out to see whats going on. An EMT runs back out the door and it seems serious. as I peer out I see an EMT pulling an old man out of a booth and onto the ground. I couldn't watch anymore. but I did see that about 4 tables were pushed out of the way. I would have hated to be those people, having a front row seat and all.
then I hear the automated voice of a defribulator. since I just had my first aid/Defribulator training I knew what was going on. not sure if it was a good thing or not. anyways so they shocked him twice atleast. and you could feel it in the floor when they did. it was awful. not everyday some one dies right in front of you. I think they did revive him though- as they were wheeling him by our table the machine was shocking him again and then it said something like "rhythm changed...check for vitals" so we think he lived. we are going to check the papers today.

how horrible though...dont think we will forget this valentines day.

finally over

well the event at work is over... it has been looooong days. i dont like working so late. esp when i left for work at 5:45... that was yesterday of course. today i was late. and then on my way to work i was calling my mom to wish her happy birthday (her golden golden birthday) and i dumped my coffee on the pants (ankle) twice. it was horrible. i have a terrible stain on my jeans now. the day started not so good. i woke up at 6:12 (suppose to be at work at 6:30). so i took 6 minutes to get ready. Ryan was so nice to start my car, shovel a path, and warm my coffee up. so thoughtful.

well the rest of the week shouldnt be as eventful. i'm glad. we had a quiet weekend and this next weekend should be too. its ryans last weekend of classes. then he only has 1 class once a week for a few months, then he graduates. i think we'll have a party. probably combine it with our chicken fiesta. mark your calendars

super bowl sunday

this game isnt as exciting as last year. i dont even know the teams playing this year. well i know the steelers i guess, lots of people i work with like them. i always forget how close i am to PA.

i have to go into work extra early tomorrow so i wont be able to watch the whole thing. i am doing another kaizen event, only for 2 days this time. but we start at 6:30 both days. i am going to go to dunkin donuts on my way to bring in donuts for the team. do anyone see the DD now has a Latte Lite? a small only has 1 point and a medium is 2. its made with splenda and skim milk. the iced ones are 1 point more. also i dont know if you add flavor syrups if it adds points. but its way better than the normal 13 points...or something along those lines. i tried one and ithe smell of it totally reminded me of highschool when i would make espresso on the stove and choke it down with chocolate syrup.

vegas is coming soon.... two weeks tomorrow we leave. sooo excited. if anyone has been there and can recommend things to do let me know. dont worry becky i am looking for some 300 ft monument to walk to the top. hey maybe we can walk to the top of the stratosphere....

we watched two movies last night, crash and cinderella man. they were both very good. crash was disturbing, but mostly because its all true. Cinderella man was very inspiring, i was afraid it was going to have a million dollar baby ending and i would have been so pissed.... that russell crowe is good. i cant believe he didnt get any nominations for it.

work has been pretty busy. I have been here much longer everyday than I have wanted.

so yeah last week at ww I weighed in, it was not good. I weigh the most I have weighed in 3 years. not good. I have been doing extremely well this week, so hopefully it continues and I can get back to my lifetime weight...and then stay there.

veronica mars finally started showing new episodes last Wednesday. I was very happy, it is a great show. Survivor starts tomorrow, I cant wait to see the new twist play out. should be good.

goodbye earth destroyer

well last night we made the trek in the snow to niagara falls to trade in the earth destroyer for a colorado. its so nice. it has on-star and XM radio. and with verizon you can hook up your phone through the on-star system so its hands free through the radio. seems cool. I'll put pictures up of the new truck.

work is crazy lately, I have been given a few new projects that will keep me very busy.

I'm off the ww meeting- I have to weigh in this week but I am turning over a new leaf and I am going to go to the meetings every week. I think it will really help me. and I need it.

truck shopping

we bought the truck essentially on Saturday but have to go tomorrow to pick it up. we got a great deal on it though. Ryan got more than he owed on his old truck and we got them down over $5000 on the new one. our payments are going down only a little, but still down- but he has a 3 year warranty and much better mileage. and we would have had to put a bunch of $$ into his old one soon. Ryan is pretty excited...it will be his first new car. and now I can keep my bug!!

wow this week has flown. tomorrow we are going up to niagara falls to buy ryan a new truck. He is getting a smaller one with much better gas mileage. so now I dont have to get a silly suv yet. this will work perfect for road trips. the only thing we will need to buy is a trailer for the 4 wheeler. but there is no rush on that. and our monthly payments are going to increase at all. maybe even decrease.

We tried a couple of the beers we made. they are very good. tomorrow we are going to stop at the beer store in buffalo too. so we can make another batch. we will have to start drinking our beer or buy more bottles.

weekend

well the weekend was good. Friday night I went to my Y and started what they call mission meltdown. its $15 and you get a t-shirt and pedometer and each week you weigh in (if you want to lose). I'm hoping it will help me get to the gym more. I have been using the treadmill we have at home quite a bit too though. I walked or went to aerobics everyday but Sunday. not that I have noticed any weight loss yet. I'm working on it.

ryan started a class so Friday night and Saturday until about 3 he is at class. I got a lot done around the house. Saturday the temperature dropped to 10 degrees. brrr. Saturday night we went over to a coworkers house for a drink before our dinner. dinner was sooo good. I got broiled scampi and ryan got a filet. and the dessert was awesome, some sort of cake with chocolate filling. it was over very quick this year since it wasnt open bar. so we went back over to the co-workers house and watch the patriots LOSE- WTF??? he has a bar in his basement (finished basement) and ryan fell in love. I will not have a bar in my house though. never.

THURSDAY

this is my first full work week in a long time. it should be Friday...

it has been in the 50s for the past few days and for 2 more. then I think we might actually get winter back. I'm afraid that my flowers are going to think its spring and come up only to be killed by the snow later in the week.

I have an awards banquet to go to this weekend. I have worked for my company for 5 years now. doesn't even seem possible.

we got our beer bottled this weekend so in 4 weeks we will be able to drink it. ryan tried alittle (its beer just not carbonated yet) and he said it tasted like beer. so that is good, our first try was a success.

ryan starts classes this weekend, he is taking a 5 week fri/sat class. then he just has one other class and he is done. then we are getting the horse (some people call them labs). cant wait.

busy busy

for some reason my friday post i emailed from work didnt post until today...hmmm. thats a first.

Anyways yesterday we went to see family stone, and i had already been warned by becky that it was a sad movie but completely forgot until the previews when i cried during the husky movie! defiantly wont be able to go to that one without a BOX of tissues. Well the movie was sooo good, but very sad. my friend nicole was at the movie too and she said at one point she was crying so hard during it she felt like she was at a funeral. i highly recommend the movie though.

then last night we did pedicures, so fun. my foot has been hurting me lately. i dont know why. it doesnt look any worse but it feels worse. i wont get it operated on again though.

Today ryan started his sunday morning football games. he was so excited it was like christmas morning- he was up at 8 am to leave at 10. i have alot of cleaning and organizing to do today.

so sore

I am so sore from my aerobics class Wednesday. I have another one tonight. I had forgotten that I was on the waiting list for one class and went to it anyways and it was really full. but there were some people in there that left in the middle of the class and came back in later....it was too much for them. so I am thinking they wont be back. I am going next week anyways. it feels good to be back at the gym. I have been eating really good this week too.

no plans for the weekend. I think we might go to the movies (btw bm did not come here this weekend, maybe next weekend). Oh on Sunday we are bottling beer I think. then in 4 weeks I will let you know how it tastes.

Thank god those silly football games are over. I have been up way too late this week. ryan was up until 1 am both Tuesday and Wednesday night. thank god Penn State won. he would have been so mad if they hadn't.

new years

well new years this year was quite fun. we went up to rochester, ny Saturday afternoon (after our 3rd christmas). we gave JS a baby carebear that giggles. you are suppose to give loud noisy gifts to other peoples children, right? thats the known rule... ha ha ha I laugh cause noone can give me them yet. it was the first time in a decade I think I have shopped in the toy aisle for someone who should actually be playing with them. she loved the baby so I was happy with our present.

so anyways we go up to rochester visit with JM and N for a couple hours then we went to the red robin restaurant. its a chain like TGIF, pretty good. terrible service though. the place wasnt even busy. then we went to RH friends apartment for the party. it was like a step back into Potsdam and at frat party. very fun though. ryan spilled red bully hill champange all over my leg. (oh side note: both bully hill champanges are nasty).

I think ryan is completely ok and maybe even excited though to move to rochester.... his friends all live there and play softball in a league and get together all the time. and where JM lives it is getting into farm land. soooo excited.....

no new years resolution this year.

I am still waiting for brokeback mountain to come to olean...i think there is a 15% it will. cross your fingers for me.

christmas

well christmas this year was great, i was most excited to give my presents this year because i got such ones. I gave ryan a home brew beer making kit....he was very surprised. And i gave my parents 12 new pages to their scrapbook. fun fun. i had made a page of poopsie cause cath forgot her in her christmas letter....and when i showed ryan he was like oh you really want to make her cry. well she did cry, but it only took the first page :) hee hee

i'm watching my laguna beach season 1 dvds now.... i had missed a bunch of them i realized. i got lots of goodies.

we got home last night about 8, after a full day of shopping... i slept in until 10:30 i think. it was so nice. i have tomorrow off too. this week is going to be so nice, i have to work thursday and friday half days. noone will be there friday either.

threats dont work

well my cookie party was fun. the cookie party I do here with my friends family. Her father is 1 of 12 brothers and sisters and they have adopted me into some of their family traditions. so it was my friend and all her aunts and a few cousins. but normal cookie parties work where everyone makes a cookie (8 dozen if there are 8 people) and you bring the cookies and exchange them. However this party is a little different because everyone goes to one persons house and makes the cookies together. a few people make them and bring them but only like 2 people. I brought mine this year because its very time oriented and I burnt myself bad one year. so a crowded kitchen and boiling sugar doesnt mix. I helped with all the other cookies though. and we do a ornament exchange.

that was my Sunday.... Friday night was fun we went to a xmas party and ryan actually drove. they only had blue light for light beers and I hate blue light but I suffered through with a smile :). I was really good with the eating there, didnt overindulge at all. but then we met two of my friends out at a bar and we went to the P Club, and they were having a xmas party of their own. Being a little drunk, all inihibitions flew in the wind, and I gorged on jalapeno poppers, cookies, chicken nuggets and who knows what else.... agh.

waiting

well I am waiting to leave work, but ryan and I carpooled and he is stuck at work.... its Friday and I am ready to go home. my puppies are waiting for their walk.

We have a christmas party to go to tonight, should be a good time. usually lots of work people go. the fun ones not the ones I dread.

Bad weather is coming tonight though we should get over a foot of snow. I think we got almost a foot last night. Hopefully the weather will be good on Thursday for when we drive up to syracuse.

I have to make butter crunch all day tomorrow. I am going to my cookie party on Sunday and I need to bring 8 dozen I think. oops I forgot to ask how many. I made a batch last night- it was good.

Just finishing up a few christmas presents and I think I am all done. We didnt do too bad this year as far as spending too much. I cant wait to give ryan his christmas present I think he is going to be soooo surprised.

jees I've been too busy to get the pictures up on the web. but I will do it tonight. I can show everyone the new couch we got from a guy ryan works with. only $75. its a very nice couch, the only downside to it is that the family we got it from is asian and the couch smells like chinese food and becky keeps mentioning chinese food on her blog and thats what I keep craving!

the weekend was eventful. I got to drive drunk people home on Friday. very humerous. I have never seen jr so drunk. the bouncer at the bar had the same b-day as jr so they did shots of patron.... then sarah and them did one. I think they had tequila in the car too. Jr pushed sarah in the snow bank on the way to the car so she was not happy. other than that not too eventful....

Saturday we stayed in and watched all our tv shows oh and went and got our couch. Sunday we went to the bar at 1:30 and started drinking. :) strange I drank from 1:30 till about 5:30 but I really dont think I ever got drunk. a waste of all those calories. :(

weekend update

well the weekend was a lot of fun. Friday night we went to dinner with Ryan's parents then watched all the TV shows we had missed during the week. Survivor was great. I loved how pissed judd got.... "scumbags.....you're all a bunch of scumbags" I can't wait to see what he does at the jury. unbelievable how pissed he got b/c they lied to him. I wish they played the clip of him saying he will lie to anyone about anything b/c this is a game to win a million dollars.
Saturday I put up some more xmas decorations and put up the last of the lights then we went to the st bonaventure basketball game. we were suppose to meet some friends out at a bar afterwards for a drink. well they didn't even end up going out and we ended up staying out until 2 am!! it was a lot of fun though. I felt pretty crappy Sunday but not near as bad as thanksgiving day. yesterday we watched the end of the season 1 of veronica mars. I am going to start wrapping Christmas presents today I think.

I got it today too. I got it yesterday too. I love puzzles like that. my brain was actually used at work.

well I think it has poured here since 9 am...there is going to be some flooding. I was warned when I go in the parking lot to be careful because the water is close to a foot deep.

I will put my pictures up tonight. last night I was so deeply involved in veronica mars dvds. ryan and I watch 4 of them I think. shows are much fast on dvd- no commercials, it was like 40 minutes. it is a very good series if anyone is looking for one. nancy drew type. I love it.

tonight is the real world reunion, I cant wait. it looked really good- people confront lacey and her trash talking. I cant wait to see what she says about it.

bad challenge news

well my update is bad...i gained .6... and it wasnt even thanksgiving week!! I dont even want to weigh in next week. I think I am going to suck it up and go weigh in today. I think they have a meeting at 10:30 am so I am going to try and make that weigh in. then I dont have to worry about it this week.

monday

so its Monday and most of our first shift is off for the "killing season". its been nice though a whole bunch of new people are working. hopefully things go smoothly this week. everytime my supervisor has been off we have had a crash.

Me and two of my friends drove 30 minutes to smethport, PA yesterday to go to a christmas store that is suppose to be fabulous. but when we got there, there were big signs saying they were quitting the business and having a sale. there was a couple outside the door looking all confused- the store were closed from yesterday till Friday for inventory and pricing changes. and they had all sorts of cute peanuts character christmas stuff. so I couldnt wait to get in. we were soooo pissed.

ryan got his deer yesterday. a 6 point. for those of you city dwellers that means there were 6 antler points. and thankfully I didnt have to see it. I did see some organ in my fridge though. hopefully ryan has eaten it by now. he has the week off.

saturday

also known as "not getting dressed day" its 5 pm and i am still in my pajamas. i got up at 9:30 and watched reunion and young and the restless, that i had DVR'd. then i started cleaning. i talked to cath for a while and rearranged the spare bedroom. so much nicer. alot more room. and i put one of the nightstands in the newly organized closet so now its like at a hotel, you can put yoru suitcase on it in the closet. then i moved on the basement (and talked to becky) i got my scrapbook/card making area pretty much cleaned. well the best i can. then i organized the basement and put stuff away. it still is a mess but i got alittle done.

i pulled out my christmas lights cause i want to get them up. i cant believe how behind i am with lights, so many people already turn theirs on!!

ryan is out today for a kill...first day of shotgun...its almost dark and he hasnt come home yet....so i dont think he killed one. he would be home early if he got one. i already told him if he kills a doe or more than one buck i would call the police. (its illegal) he must be so happy he married me :)

challenge update

So I weighed in last night at the gym and its one of those slide scales so I don't know the true accuracy, but I lost 1.2 lbs this week. so far doing good. I didn't eat all of my flex points last week so I think that is good.
I need to save all of them for the month for next week :). So that is 3.2 total, I just need 6.8 to go. I'm still not back in the ww circle yet though. so I am either going to have to weigh in wed BEFORE thanksgiving or risk it and go after thanksgiving.... hmmm. decisions decisions.

So I took Patty to the vet this week and she needs a teeth cleaning. (I guess thats whats causing her bad breath). but the vet quoted me between $215 and $530... yeah, almost going to happen. I called the two other vets in the area and I have gotten much better prices. I think I have found a new vet too. I don't need to be ripped off. Plus this cost has motivated me to start brushing linus's teeth. apparently small dogs are more prone to these teeth problems.

While I was at the vet another dog had to put to sleep. why is it my luck to always be there when this happens?? luckily it wasn't a Pomeranian this time. I felt so bad though, the people didn't have the $1000-$1500 to pay for the surgery. Little did they know it would have cost probably half that anywhere else. They didn't look like they had too much anyways, so it might not have mattered.

shelves

Today we got the shelves put up in the spare bedroom. finally. i painted them today and need one more coat on them, and hopefully tomorrow i can get all the stuff put away and organized. Yesterday we got the office all organized and clean. i can't believe how much bigger it is now. so nice. our cleaning is coming along nicely. we still have the basement to do but that won't be too much. Becky did you want to sleep down there?

Last night I went to dinner with CF and NF at the beef n barrel. It was so good, I hadn't been there in forever.


I cant wait for the Goblet of Fire this friday. we are going friday night. i cant wait. the commercials are getting me so excited.

challenge

so a friend of mine was telling me how her and two other people are doing their own "weigh in" instead of going to ww meetings. each week they weigh in and pay $5, but in may whoever has lost the most weight wins all the money. don't you think we should add money to the challenge? but we could do highest % lost? what do you guys think? money is always a good motivator I think.

JARHEAD

so Saturday we did get to see it, Oh it was soooo good. JG is so gorgeous and half naked most of the movie, all naked some of the movie. Its def. not for children. and to my surprise there were quite a few in the theater. Lots of other cuties in the movie too, including lucas black (aka Pee Jo in crazy in alabama). A very interesting fact I learned from the movie was that during the time when the lit all the oil fields on fire it actually rained oil all over. that was crazy. they showed a horse that was running in the desert completely covered in oil.

we cleaned like crazy people yesterday. I have made of list of things we have to clean before our thanksgiving guests come. and we have lots to do. I also cleaned out our garage on Saturday. well took all the stuff that goes in the basement down there. my goal is to get my green bug sideways in the garage so I can park my yellow one in there during the winter.

baby cow

last  night when we went to go to dinner and see jarhead - we were driving on our road and there were 2 cars pulled over with their hazards on right in front of the farm where all the cows are. we i almost hit 3 women and a baby cow. apparently he got loose and was in the road. it was quite a site to watch them try and  pull the cow that did not want to go where they were taking it. ryan jumped out and went to see if they were home but they werent. as ryan was coming back from the house the guy pulled in that owns them. He didnt seem too concerned, he told them to "let her go, she'll be ok" then called her like a dog. too funny.

 

 

well we went to dinner and then went to the movie. we got there 5 minutes after the movie started and there was a long line, but i didnt think anything of it. but it was SOLD OUT!!! i was so pissed. the only thing i had planned for the weekend. agh. anyways i think we are going to go back tonight and try and see it.

finally Friday...

I think I have been saying that for months now.... work isnt as fun with this new job. much more stressful. I think I need to be meaner. I just got the book from carolyn (on apprentence) I should start reading it this weekend.

Tonight we are going to see jarhead (love that jake gylenhall...) I cant wait. I think it looks so good. other than that I dont have too many plans. I am going to keep working on my cards. and no becky you need to make your own.... I get my new stamps tomorrow too. they are being delivered.

ryan ordered us a plow this week, so now this winter we can plow ourselves. see now I really dont need a 4 wheel drive car. we have a 4 wheeler for that.

I'm excited this weekend I can take down all my halloween decorations and start getting my christmas ones out. I love decorating the house.

oh I forget the wonderful news, we had 2 trick-or-treaters.... it was 8:00 and I was all sad that we didnt get any....cursing where we live again...and about 8:10 the dogs went nuts and they do it all the time so I ignored them, finally ryan got up and there were our neighbors all dressed up. we have never met them before (they live near us, but not that close) then about 9 ss, ts, as all stopped by. AS was dressed up as pooh dressed as a bee. it was so cute.

I have been diligently making christmas cards all week. its so fun. I could go into business doing it. wait till you all get them, you'll love them :)
