A Bug's Life
Mar 28, 2006
tuesday
anyways its on tonight and i love it.
I have been trying to get my bug running for 2 days now...no luck. i got my new battery in hoping it would be the fix...knowing that it wouldnt be though. and it wasnt. maybe tomorrow i can get some help. i need to have the oil changed too but i will leave that to my mechanic.
patty had her teeth cleaned yesterday and it was only $80. i think fayetteville is trying to rip people off when they clean their dogs teeth.

sick

i'm still sick, i slept most of the day...it was so nice. we had our leadership retreat this weekend. ryan and i are both doing a leadership program for the county. there are 22 people in the program and its 10 months long. we go once every month now for 9 months. i think its going to be a great resume addition. plus i will learn lots about the area...and hopefully not be so negative about it all the time.
so not much has been going on lately. i got my carb back in the bug but i still need to do some adjustments. next saturday i can take it out on the road, as long as its not salty. i have a few things i need to buy for it, a new battery is the main thing. this bug is much easier to change the battery thank god.
patty is going in for her teeth cleaning tomorrow, i'm hoping it wont break the bank. shes had no food or water since noon. poor baby. i think i finally found a 'paintable' picture of linus. i seriously took about 140 pics to get it. she is just not photogenic like patty. half of them have her tongue sticking out. i never realized how often she does that.

st pattys day
tomorrow is such a good day. i'm so excited, i am taking a half day of vacation. ryan and I are getting out at 11, going to the Y then going to lunch and drink drink drink. i think its going to be a sloppy night. fun fun. i am bringing my beeleybop's to wear. which reminds me - becky you never wore the ones i got you in vegas! how rude........
i have been so busy at work i havent had a moment to catch up on the blog. so last weekend
we went to albany for nicoles house warming party. so fun.
patty got groomed today, i had them cut her butt and legs a little shorter this time cause she sometimes gets some unmentionables on her butt hair, cause its so long. she looks a little ridiculous right now, kindof like a mindy butt- but it will grown in.
ryan tried our irish tout tonight- after he broke a bottle in the basement, agh. wasting our precious beer. it tastes pretty good, kinda like the IPA though :) tomorrow when i drink the real stuff i should be able to tell better. its been forever since i have had a guiness though.

oscars!!
tonight is the oscars, i am excited. i hope jake g wins for brokeback mountain. oh i am pissed. i read in the paper last sunday that brokeback mountain was coming to wellsville movie theater so i asked ryan if we could go on saturday and he actually said yes. so i was so excited. well yesterday he called to see what time it was showing and last thursday was its last night!! so upset. i missed my chance to see it.
it has been a very busy week for me, a guy i work with is out for 3 days and so i am doing extra work, plus its a busy time anyways. ugh. i went in today for a few hours.
ryan and i are going to bottle our latest beer- an irish stout tomorrow. hopefully it is ready by st pattys day.

more vegas
okay soooo.......
tuesday we watched the view and then shopped and went sight seeing.
we spent forever in the forum shops. lots of really high end stores
which we only window shopped but it was fun.
tuesday night we went to dinner at margaritaville and sat outside and
it was freezing. we thought drinking lots would help- but it didnt.
just got me drunk. i slept for an hour after we did sparklers off the
balcony in beckys room. then went back down to the casino to gamble
with ryan and my mom until 2 in the morning. it was fun- i won $3
that night.
overall i lost lots. wednesday night we went to see O - cirque de
soliel. it was awesome. it was a water based show.
having to go back to work friday wasnt as bad as i thought it would
be, i am pretty much caught up so that tomorrow should be back to
normal. i hope so cause i have to leave early to go to an aerobics
class. i need to get back into going to the gym. ryan gained 4.5 lbs
over our vacation, i didnt even weigh in, i was too afraid.
yesterday we brewed our irish stout beer, hopefully it will be ready
by st patricks day. and i took apart my bugs carbuerator. i am going
to put it back together today. it has been soaking in cleaning
solution all night.
oh ryan and i went to see eight below last night- it was so sad. the
huskies are so cute and reminded me of poopsie too much. the movie is
only a little sad if you havent recently had to put your husky to
sleep. if i ever get another dog it will be a husky.

home
we got home thursday night just in time for survivor.
vegas was so fun. we jammed so much stuff in. i am going to get the pictures up on the internet today and i will send them out. we got to vegas monday morning about 11. we had no problems getting there, thank god. not sure i really like the way southwest does things. cause if you are late then you would get crappy seats. or if your connecting flight was late you would get crappy seats. but it was cheap so i cant complain.
we went sightseeing at the stratosphere monday night then we went to old vegas to see this fabulous light show that cathy and becky kept talking about. we ate buffet too, i think i tried every desert there. i totally blew my diet. but anyways the light show was pretty dissappointing. it was all gambling scenes. we were so exhausted since we had been up since 3 that morning. so we went back to our casino and gambled a bit. oh we met up with my friend taryn from school too. becky had given her our tickets to the view and she told us that there were lots of seats empty that morning. soooo we decided that the next morning we would try to go see the view.
the next morning we woke up at 5:30 ish to a very loud crash followed by an alarm (like a car alarm) i thought it was a bomb... it really scared me. so anyways we find out later it was a swat team going through the window of the casino next to us. at midnight the night before a 22 yr old shot another 22 yr old in the hotel, then ran into a room and 5 hours later the swat team finally got him. crazyness.
we saw the view tuesday morning, it was so cool. the guests were rosanne barr, wolfgang puck, and the chippendales. i got lots of pictures. it was very cold though, we had to sit outside to wait to get in and then the taping was also outside. we froze.
ok ryan is insisting that i get off his computer so i will finish later....

valentines day dinner
well Ryan and I went to dinner at spragues... we waited about 40 minutes to sit down... right after we got our salads Ryan noticed an ambulance outside the window. so I look around the room looking for some commotion that prompted the ambulance...nothing. then 3 EMT guys run by our booth and go to a booth in the same row as us (so I couldn't see what was going on....luckily) Being Cathy's daughter- I rubberneck out to see whats going on. An EMT runs back out the door and it seems serious. as I peer out I see an EMT pulling an old man out of a booth and onto the ground. I couldn't watch anymore. but I did see that about 4 tables were pushed out of the way. I would have hated to be those people, having a front row seat and all.
then I hear the automated voice of a defribulator. since I just had my first aid/Defribulator training I knew what was going on. not sure if it was a good thing or not. anyways so they shocked him twice atleast. and you could feel it in the floor when they did. it was awful. not everyday some one dies right in front of you. I think they did revive him though- as they were wheeling him by our table the machine was shocking him again and then it said something like "rhythm changed...check for vitals" so we think he lived. we are going to check the papers today.
how horrible though...dont think we will forget this valentines day.
Feb 7, 2006
finally over
well the event at work is over... it has been looooong days. i dont like working so late. esp when i left for work at 5:45... that was yesterday of course. today i was late. and then on my way to work i was calling my mom to wish her happy birthday (her golden golden birthday) and i dumped my coffee on the pants (ankle) twice. it was horrible. i have a terrible stain on my jeans now. the day started not so good. i woke up at 6:12 (suppose to be at work at 6:30). so i took 6 minutes to get ready. Ryan was so nice to start my car, shovel a path, and warm my coffee up. so thoughtful.
well the rest of the week shouldnt be as eventful. i'm glad. we had a quiet weekend and this next weekend should be too. its ryans last weekend of classes. then he only has 1 class once a week for a few months, then he graduates. i think we'll have a party. probably combine it with our chicken fiesta. mark your calendars
Feb 5, 2006
super bowl sunday
this game isnt as exciting as last year. i dont even know the teams playing this year. well i know the steelers i guess, lots of people i work with like them. i always forget how close i am to PA.
i have to go into work extra early tomorrow so i wont be able to watch the whole thing. i am doing another kaizen event, only for 2 days this time. but we start at 6:30 both days. i am going to go to dunkin donuts on my way to bring in donuts for the team. do anyone see the DD now has a Latte Lite? a small only has 1 point and a medium is 2. its made with splenda and skim milk. the iced ones are 1 point more. also i dont know if you add flavor syrups if it adds points. but its way better than the normal 13 points...or something along those lines. i tried one and ithe smell of it totally reminded me of highschool when i would make espresso on the stove and choke it down with chocolate syrup.
vegas is coming soon.... two weeks tomorrow we leave. sooo excited. if anyone has been there and can recommend things to do let me know. dont worry becky i am looking for some 300 ft monument to walk to the top. hey maybe we can walk to the top of the stratosphere....
we watched two movies last night, crash and cinderella man. they were both very good. crash was disturbing, but mostly because its all true. Cinderella man was very inspiring, i was afraid it was going to have a million dollar baby ending and i would have been so pissed.... that russell crowe is good. i cant believe he didnt get any nominations for it.

pictures coming soon

My work wont let me log into my blog anymore, or see comments at work. hmm. I don't like that.
so anyways I have some really cute pictures from recently that I am going to post tonight.
work has been pretty busy. I have been here much longer everyday than I have wanted.
so yeah last week at ww I weighed in, it was not good. I weigh the most I have weighed in 3 years. not good. I have been doing extremely well this week, so hopefully it continues and I can get back to my lifetime weight...and then stay there.
veronica mars finally started showing new episodes last Wednesday. I was very happy, it is a great show. Survivor starts tomorrow, I cant wait to see the new twist play out. should be good.

goodbye earth destroyer
well last night we made the trek in the snow to niagara falls to trade in the earth destroyer for a colorado. its so nice. it has on-star and XM radio. and with verizon you can hook up your phone through the on-star system so its hands free through the radio. seems cool. I'll put pictures up of the new truck.
work is crazy lately, I have been given a few new projects that will keep me very busy.
I'm off the ww meeting- I have to weigh in this week but I am turning over a new leaf and I am going to go to the meetings every week. I think it will really help me. and I need it.
Jan 23, 2006
truck shopping
we bought the truck essentially on Saturday but have to go tomorrow to pick it up. we got a great deal on it though. Ryan got more than he owed on his old truck and we got them down over $5000 on the new one. our payments are going down only a little, but still down- but he has a 3 year warranty and much better mileage. and we would have had to put a bunch of $$ into his old one soon. Ryan is pretty excited...it will be his first new car. and now I can keep my bug!!
Sunday we watched all sorts of football, fun fun. and we made chili. it was so good.
Jan 20, 2006
check out the quotes
isnt that cool? it changes everyday. and I pick out the quotes. so dont tell me they are crappy.
wow this week has flown. tomorrow we are going up to niagara falls to buy ryan a new truck. He is getting a smaller one with much better gas mileage. so now I dont have to get a silly suv yet. this will work perfect for road trips. the only thing we will need to buy is a trailer for the 4 wheeler. but there is no rush on that. and our monthly payments are going to increase at all. maybe even decrease.
We tried a couple of the beers we made. they are very good. tomorrow we are going to stop at the beer store in buffalo too. so we can make another batch. we will have to start drinking our beer or buy more bottles.
Jan 16, 2006
weekend
well the weekend was good. Friday night I went to my Y and started what they call mission meltdown. its $15 and you get a t-shirt and pedometer and each week you weigh in (if you want to lose). I'm hoping it will help me get to the gym more. I have been using the treadmill we have at home quite a bit too though. I walked or went to aerobics everyday but Sunday. not that I have noticed any weight loss yet. I'm working on it.
ryan started a class so Friday night and Saturday until about 3 he is at class. I got a lot done around the house. Saturday the temperature dropped to 10 degrees. brrr. Saturday night we went over to a coworkers house for a drink before our dinner. dinner was sooo good. I got broiled scampi and ryan got a filet. and the dessert was awesome, some sort of cake with chocolate filling. it was over very quick this year since it wasnt open bar. so we went back over to the co-workers house and watch the patriots LOSE- WTF??? he has a bar in his basement (finished basement) and ryan fell in love. I will not have a bar in my house though. never.
Jan 12, 2006
THURSDAY
this is my first full work week in a long time. it should be Friday...
it has been in the 50s for the past few days and for 2 more. then I think we might actually get winter back. I'm afraid that my flowers are going to think its spring and come up only to be killed by the snow later in the week.
I have an awards banquet to go to this weekend. I have worked for my company for 5 years now. doesn't even seem possible.
we got our beer bottled this weekend so in 4 weeks we will be able to drink it. ryan tried alittle (its beer just not carbonated yet) and he said it tasted like beer. so that is good, our first try was a success.
ryan starts classes this weekend, he is taking a 5 week fri/sat class. then he just has one other class and he is done. then we are getting the horse (some people call them labs). cant wait.

busy busy
Anyways yesterday we went to see family stone, and i had already been warned by becky that it was a sad movie but completely forgot until the previews when i cried during the husky movie! defiantly wont be able to go to that one without a BOX of tissues. Well the movie was sooo good, but very sad. my friend nicole was at the movie too and she said at one point she was crying so hard during it she felt like she was at a funeral. i highly recommend the movie though.
then last night we did pedicures, so fun. my foot has been hurting me lately. i dont know why. it doesnt look any worse but it feels worse. i wont get it operated on again though.
Today ryan started his sunday morning football games. he was so excited it was like christmas morning- he was up at 8 am to leave at 10. i have alot of cleaning and organizing to do today.
Jan 6, 2006
so sore
I am so sore from my aerobics class Wednesday. I have another one tonight. I had forgotten that I was on the waiting list for one class and went to it anyways and it was really full. but there were some people in there that left in the middle of the class and came back in later....it was too much for them. so I am thinking they wont be back. I am going next week anyways. it feels good to be back at the gym. I have been eating really good this week too.
no plans for the weekend. I think we might go to the movies (btw bm did not come here this weekend, maybe next weekend). Oh on Sunday we are bottling beer I think. then in 4 weeks I will let you know how it tastes.
Thank god those silly football games are over. I have been up way too late this week. ryan was up until 1 am both Tuesday and Wednesday night. thank god Penn State won. he would have been so mad if they hadn't.

new years
well new years this year was quite fun. we went up to rochester, ny Saturday afternoon (after our 3rd christmas). we gave JS a baby carebear that giggles. you are suppose to give loud noisy gifts to other peoples children, right? thats the known rule... ha ha ha I laugh cause noone can give me them yet. it was the first time in a decade I think I have shopped in the toy aisle for someone who should actually be playing with them. she loved the baby so I was happy with our present.
so anyways we go up to rochester visit with JM and N for a couple hours then we went to the red robin restaurant. its a chain like TGIF, pretty good. terrible service though. the place wasnt even busy. then we went to RH friends apartment for the party. it was like a step back into Potsdam and at frat party. very fun though. ryan spilled red bully hill champange all over my leg. (oh side note: both bully hill champanges are nasty).
I think ryan is completely ok and maybe even excited though to move to rochester.... his friends all live there and play softball in a league and get together all the time. and where JM lives it is getting into farm land. soooo excited.....
no new years resolution this year.
I am still waiting for brokeback mountain to come to olean...i think there is a 15% it will. cross your fingers for me.
Dec 27, 2005
christmas
i'm watching my laguna beach season 1 dvds now.... i had missed a bunch of them i realized. i got lots of goodies.
we got home last night about 8, after a full day of shopping... i slept in until 10:30 i think. it was so nice. i have tomorrow off too. this week is going to be so nice, i have to work thursday and friday half days. noone will be there friday either.

threats dont work
well my cookie party was fun. the cookie party I do here with my friends family. Her father is 1 of 12 brothers and sisters and they have adopted me into some of their family traditions. so it was my friend and all her aunts and a few cousins. but normal cookie parties work where everyone makes a cookie (8 dozen if there are 8 people) and you bring the cookies and exchange them. However this party is a little different because everyone goes to one persons house and makes the cookies together. a few people make them and bring them but only like 2 people. I brought mine this year because its very time oriented and I burnt myself bad one year. so a crowded kitchen and boiling sugar doesnt mix. I helped with all the other cookies though. and we do a ornament exchange.
that was my Sunday.... Friday night was fun we went to a xmas party and ryan actually drove. they only had blue light for light beers and I hate blue light but I suffered through with a smile :). I was really good with the eating there, didnt overindulge at all. but then we met two of my friends out at a bar and we went to the P Club, and they were having a xmas party of their own. Being a little drunk, all inihibitions flew in the wind, and I gorged on jalapeno poppers, cookies, chicken nuggets and who knows what else.... agh.
Dec 16, 2005
waiting
well I am waiting to leave work, but ryan and I carpooled and he is stuck at work.... its Friday and I am ready to go home. my puppies are waiting for their walk.
We have a christmas party to go to tonight, should be a good time. usually lots of work people go. the fun ones not the ones I dread.
Bad weather is coming tonight though we should get over a foot of snow. I think we got almost a foot last night. Hopefully the weather will be good on Thursday for when we drive up to syracuse.
I have to make butter crunch all day tomorrow. I am going to my cookie party on Sunday and I need to bring 8 dozen I think. oops I forgot to ask how many. I made a batch last night- it was good.
Just finishing up a few christmas presents and I think I am all done. We didnt do too bad this year as far as spending too much. I cant wait to give ryan his christmas present I think he is going to be soooo surprised.

alright alright
jees I've been too busy to get the pictures up on the web. but I will do it tonight. I can show everyone the new couch we got from a guy ryan works with. only $75. its a very nice couch, the only downside to it is that the family we got it from is asian and the couch smells like chinese food and becky keeps mentioning chinese food on her blog and thats what I keep craving!
the weekend was eventful. I got to drive drunk people home on Friday. very humerous. I have never seen jr so drunk. the bouncer at the bar had the same b-day as jr so they did shots of patron.... then sarah and them did one. I think they had tequila in the car too. Jr pushed sarah in the snow bank on the way to the car so she was not happy. other than that not too eventful....
Saturday we stayed in and watched all our tv shows oh and went and got our couch. Sunday we went to the bar at 1:30 and started drinking. :) strange I drank from 1:30 till about 5:30 but I really dont think I ever got drunk. a waste of all those calories. :(

weekend update
Saturday I put up some more xmas decorations and put up the last of the lights then we went to the st bonaventure basketball game. we were suppose to meet some friends out at a bar afterwards for a drink. well they didn't even end up going out and we ended up staying out until 2 am!! it was a lot of fun though. I felt pretty crappy Sunday but not near as bad as thanksgiving day. yesterday we watched the end of the season 1 of veronica mars. I am going to start wrapping Christmas presents today I think.

Japan here I come!
I got it today too. I got it yesterday too. I love puzzles like that. my brain was actually used at work.
well I think it has poured here since 9 am...there is going to be some flooding. I was warned when I go in the parking lot to be careful because the water is close to a foot deep.
I will put my pictures up tonight. last night I was so deeply involved in veronica mars dvds. ryan and I watch 4 of them I think. shows are much fast on dvd- no commercials, it was like 40 minutes. it is a very good series if anyone is looking for one. nancy drew type. I love it.
tonight is the real world reunion, I cant wait. it looked really good- people confront lacey and her trash talking. I cant wait to see what she says about it.
whoops
guess you need the directions in english, like the forward I got had: sorry!
Click on link, and then click on the big blue circle. Use the rules below.
Apparently this is an IQ test given to job applicants in Japan:

presence
The mother can not stay with any of the sons, without their father's
presence
The thief (striped shirt) can not stay with any family member, if The
Policeman is not there
Only the Father, the Mother and the Policeman know how to operate the raft
To start click on the big blue circle on the right.
To move the people click on them.
To move the raft click on the pole on the opposite side of the river.
You do this right - you can land a job in Japan!

bad challenge news
well my update is bad...i gained .6... and it wasnt even thanksgiving week!! I dont even want to weigh in next week. I think I am going to suck it up and go weigh in today. I think they have a meeting at 10:30 am so I am going to try and make that weigh in. then I dont have to worry about it this week.
Nov 21, 2005
monday
so its Monday and most of our first shift is off for the "killing season". its been nice though a whole bunch of new people are working. hopefully things go smoothly this week. everytime my supervisor has been off we have had a crash.
Me and two of my friends drove 30 minutes to smethport, PA yesterday to go to a christmas store that is suppose to be fabulous. but when we got there, there were big signs saying they were quitting the business and having a sale. there was a couple outside the door looking all confused- the store were closed from yesterday till Friday for inventory and pricing changes. and they had all sorts of cute peanuts character christmas stuff. so I couldnt wait to get in. we were soooo pissed.
ryan got his deer yesterday. a 6 point. for those of you city dwellers that means there were 6 antler points. and thankfully I didnt have to see it. I did see some organ in my fridge though. hopefully ryan has eaten it by now. he has the week off.
Nov 19, 2005
saturday
i pulled out my christmas lights cause i want to get them up. i cant believe how behind i am with lights, so many people already turn theirs on!!
ryan is out today for a kill...first day of shotgun...its almost dark and he hasnt come home yet....so i dont think he killed one. he would be home early if he got one. i already told him if he kills a doe or more than one buck i would call the police. (its illegal) he must be so happy he married me :)
Nov 16, 2005
challenge update
So I weighed in last night at the gym and its one of those slide scales so I don't know the true accuracy, but I lost 1.2 lbs this week. so far doing good. I didn't eat all of my flex points last week so I think that is good.
I need to save all of them for the month for next week :). So that is 3.2 total, I just need 6.8 to go. I'm still not back in the ww circle yet though. so I am either going to have to weigh in wed BEFORE thanksgiving or risk it and go after thanksgiving.... hmmm. decisions decisions.
So I took Patty to the vet this week and she needs a teeth cleaning. (I guess thats whats causing her bad breath). but the vet quoted me between $215 and $530... yeah, almost going to happen. I called the two other vets in the area and I have gotten much better prices. I think I have found a new vet too. I don't need to be ripped off. Plus this cost has motivated me to start brushing linus's teeth. apparently small dogs are more prone to these teeth problems.
While I was at the vet another dog had to put to sleep. why is it my luck to always be there when this happens?? luckily it wasn't a Pomeranian this time. I felt so bad though, the people didn't have the $1000-$1500 to pay for the surgery. Little did they know it would have cost probably half that anywhere else. They didn't look like they had too much anyways, so it might not have mattered.

shelves
Last night I went to dinner with CF and NF at the beef n barrel. It was so good, I hadn't been there in forever.
I cant wait for the Goblet of Fire this friday. we are going friday night. i cant wait. the commercials are getting me so excited.
Nov 10, 2005
challenge
so a friend of mine was telling me how her and two other people are doing their own "weigh in" instead of going to ww meetings. each week they weigh in and pay $5, but in may whoever has lost the most weight wins all the money. don't you think we should add money to the challenge? but we could do highest % lost? what do you guys think? money is always a good motivator I think.

JARHEAD
so Saturday we did get to see it, Oh it was soooo good. JG is so gorgeous and half naked most of the movie, all naked some of the movie. Its def. not for children. and to my surprise there were quite a few in the theater. Lots of other cuties in the movie too, including lucas black (aka Pee Jo in crazy in alabama). A very interesting fact I learned from the movie was that during the time when the lit all the oil fields on fire it actually rained oil all over. that was crazy. they showed a horse that was running in the desert completely covered in oil.
we cleaned like crazy people yesterday. I have made of list of things we have to clean before our thanksgiving guests come. and we have lots to do. I also cleaned out our garage on Saturday. well took all the stuff that goes in the basement down there. my goal is to get my green bug sideways in the garage so I can park my yellow one in there during the winter.

finally Friday...
I think I have been saying that for months now.... work isnt as fun with this new job. much more stressful. I think I need to be meaner. I just got the book from carolyn (on apprentence) I should start reading it this weekend.
Tonight we are going to see jarhead (love that jake gylenhall...) I cant wait. I think it looks so good. other than that I dont have too many plans. I am going to keep working on my cards. and no becky you need to make your own.... I get my new stamps tomorrow too. they are being delivered.
ryan ordered us a plow this week, so now this winter we can plow ourselves. see now I really dont need a 4 wheel drive car. we have a 4 wheeler for that.
I'm excited this weekend I can take down all my halloween decorations and start getting my christmas ones out. I love decorating the house.
Nov 2, 2005
halloween
oh I forget the wonderful news, we had 2 trick-or-treaters.... it was 8:00 and I was all sad that we didnt get any....cursing where we live again...and about 8:10 the dogs went nuts and they do it all the time so I ignored them, finally ryan got up and there were our neighbors all dressed up. we have never met them before (they live near us, but not that close) then about 9 ss, ts, as all stopped by. AS was dressed up as pooh dressed as a bee. it was so cute.
I have been diligently making christmas cards all week. its so fun. I could go into business doing it. wait till you all get them, you'll love them :)

Saturday

well my week is finally over, thank god. I went to bed about 9:45 last night and slept til 7:30 this morning. I had to get up early cause I had to take the pups to get their haircut. I'll post some pictures. then I went shopping for the lasagna I am going to make tonight. oh becky I got some of that tofu crumbles you were talking about. I am going to put it in the lasagna and see if ryan notices...
then I got back and watched some tv before picking up the babies. now I think I am going to take a nap. I'm pooped. I wanted to make some christmas presents today but I don't have all the supplies. I have to go get them tomorrow.

crappy - the word of the day

yesterday ryan and i took the dogs on a walk and i decided we should turn up this one road where a dog attacked me before (i was alone with both patty and linus) i figured it would be okay since it was ryan and i. but right as we got near this house 2 dogs started running after us and the old man that owns them starts yelling for the dogs but they dont listen. both of them were jumping up on me- one i know bite my arm. patty was going bizerk in my arms. it was terrible. the old man meanders out finally and trys to get them. saying "they've never done this before" when one of them ran after me a year ago. anyways we finally get away and we see this big black dog coming down the road and when get near her patty goes bizerk again. (she had a very stressful walk) but the woman must have heard all the commotion with the attack cause she told us that her dog had been bite twice by those dogs. agh. but we live in east bumf- and there is no leash laws- so you cant even have the dogs tied up. pain. needless to say i will never walk up that road again.

cpr-aed
yesterday I got 4 hours of training on CPR and AED. so now I can use one of those shocking machines just like on tv. I didn't realize how simple those things were.
I have to go to first aid training next week, agh. thats the stuff that makes me want to puke.... just the training, let alone I actually had to use it.
I have to go back to ww again tonight... I'm terrified that I have to pay AGAIN, no I am sure I am going to have to pay. what is wrong with me?! why cant I lose these few lbs like I used to be able to do?!
I also have to go to a leadership community event thing tonight. I'm going to apply to be in it for next year. its a once a month meeting thing where you are in groups with people from all different companies in olean trying to make the community better, more prosperous. I hope it doesn't go too long though cause I haven't eaten or drank since noon and I think I am going to be famished and grouchy.

crafty lady weekend
this weekend I was crafty lady... I cant go into too much detail though cause I made some presents... but Saturday morning I went to stamp camp in portville and made 3 xmas cards, a mini scrapbook, and a gift bag. then I came home and did my secret crafty job. it turned out very nice. Its something I saw when I went to letchworth state park last weekend that I said "oh I can do that" and low and behold I did! now I am going to make more to give as presents.
Friday night Ryan got my bug fixed (green). I even got to drive it today. so exciting. however I did have to listen to some of ryans drunk friends talk to me for about 15 minutes on batteries... how I need a new one even though its not dead- what a difference it is going to make, what brand I should buy, what color the writing is on the battery, which store carries which brand... the list could go on and on, but I wont torture you like I was.
Sunday I pretty much cleaned and sat on the couch and slept. our shower is now clean, I hate the hard water we have- it turns our shower curtain orange and makes me feel dirty when I get out of the shower.
Oct 14, 2005
finances
So becky you can finally rest at ease... ryan and i now share our
money, all in one account. this is a pain though having to change all
of my online banking accounts... agh. and i have to use up all of my
hello kitty checks. and order more!!! ryans name is going to be on a
hello kitty check, hee hee.
Oct 13, 2005
holes (again)....
ugh. anyways i finally finished the hole patchwork in our living room. so exciting. i'll put a picture up. cath you'd be so proud.... it only took 6 months. and i should emphasize I because i did everything, cut the dry wall, mudded it (twice), sanded it, primed it, painted it, and put the cover back on. and nothing got broken in the process... just took a while. doesnt it look nice?

i got to interview a candidate today at work, it was strange i have never interviewed anyone and they didnt give me a format or questions or anything. but i think it went ok- well since i have nothing to compare it to it went great..
Oct 12, 2005
green bug
So last night ryan and I tried to get the green bug going, so we pulled it out of the garage with the 4-wheeler and pushed it down the hill towards our neighbors houses and ryan put it in 2nd and it started for a second but then stalled out. I dont think he was going fast enough. it was funny though, then we had to pull it back up the hill with the 4-wheeler.... our neighbors must think we are quacks.
went to the parkwood for dinner last night, it was yummy. they do chicken wings and tenders on Tuesday nights.
Does anyone watch CSI: NY? I missed the very end of the episode and wanted to know if they fired an agent....
Oct 11, 2005
Car fixes
Well I dropped my car off at my garage this morning and they call me around 10 to tell me that they are having trouble getting parts and they are going to need my car for a few days. :( if only my green bug still worked... I might have to try and get it to start tonight.
anyways my cylinders are misfiring because they think its a bad coil and they can't get any parts as of yet.... once they fix that they are going to try and figure out the transmission problem. AGH. she didnt think it would cost THAT much, the parts anyways.
baseball is no fun now, I dont think I am even going to watch anymore.
Oct 10, 2005
car troubles
first off i went to the letchworth craft show on saturday morning. very cold and rainy out- but overall was a good time. and i got some cute stuff.
well i get home and ryan, junior and pudge are working on ryans truck, about an hour later ryan comes inside and says his truck is done - but it shakes a little at 50-60 mph. and pudge told him to live with it. (good mechanic, anyone want his number for your cars??) so jr and pudge are working on jr truck- they need a part, so they take ryans truck to olean. about 10 minutes later the phone rings and ryans drive shaft fell off while they were driving it. So ryan takes my bug (that i had just driven and it was driving perfectly fine) and goes down to bring them tools to fix it. well my bug comes back in the driveway for 2.5 seconds and then speds off. 15 minutes later i get a call from ryan asking me if my car was shaking when i drove it earlier. (it hadnt) apparently it just goes bad sometimes. so 2 hours later they get home and ryans truck is still broken. they have to wait until sunday to get a part from a store. so they go to close up the garage and my electric garage door opener wont close. agh. my conclusion for the day: dont let them anywhere near your stuff.
meanwhile my car is shaking at speeds from 0-39 and its not shifting gears. the mechanic (pudge) says its bad gas. ???
needless to say i have an appointment tomorrow with my REAL garage.

the stupid red sox lost again last night, i dont think they are going to make it....

fired
monday...

well it was such a nice quiet weekend for once...
i cleaned alot on saturday- the dog hair was over taking us... unfortunately i forgot to take my allegra and had a horrible allergy attack and was so exhausted the rest of saturday and alot of sunday. i got alot of cleaning done though, i was very impressed. ryan worked on the shed, it is almost all done (not done done) but the siding is done. there are still no doors... I'll send out some pictures dont worry.
i was in our office saturday cleaning when i noticed a noise coming from the attic and a watermark looking stain on the ceiling. well i sent ryan up there yesterday and its a huge bees nest in our attic. ryan sprayed them with our wasp/hornet spray but i think we need to do it again. crazy bees, seem to just love me this summer.
sucks that i had that dumb, cant move her feet, brianna

dr appt day
we had crazy wind this morning- when I woke up I looked out the window and it looked like you were in a car wash- the rain was that consistent and horizontal. I was afraid to let linus and patty out, thought they might get blown away...

my tape for desperate housewives did not tape- i'm pretty pissed. if anyone has it on tape and it can get to me before sunday i would greatly appreciate it.
i got all my halloween decorations up last night- the house looks so cute. my neighbor loves the ghosts i put in my garden. i still have my pumpkin lights to put up on the porch but i might do that tonight. i was pouring rain most of yesterday and last night.

survivor
we are getting out of work at 3pm today and we should be on the road by 4. I'm bringing a surprise.... Hopefully people like it. (and don't worry cath, its not a puppy.... even though I think you need one)
I'm a little nervous about the wine tour now, I was thinking of all the terrible terrible experiences I have had with wine and wine tours....not to name any names- eh em nicole... so hopefully this experience is good or I think I will swear off wine forever.
Sep 21, 2005
getting excited...
i was just thinking of this weekend and all the gossip i heard about people. there are alot of people getting divorced and/or are cheating on their spouse. its kind of discouraging for me to think too that i was just at a wedding where the grooms mother brought her boyfriend, who is married to someone else... and today i found out they have been having this affair for 9 years. troubling. why do people bother to get married?! and why not just get divorced? why carry on for so long leading two lives? its a classic lifetime movie. only lately it seems like more the norm.
Winery Info
Swedish Hill Vineyard (315/549-8326)-
-Well-groomed vineyards and state-of-the-art equipment characterize this winery that opened for business in 1985, producing a wide range of dry and sweet wines that include champagne, port and brandy. And the efforts have been rewarded; the vineyard has won top honors and gold medals in many national and international wine competitions. Informed tour guides take you through the wine making process with a tour of brandy and wine making facilities. On weekends from May through October, you may opt for a horse-and-wagon tour, learning about a year in the life of a grapevine, the varieties grown and how the grapes are used. Open year-round from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Swedish Hill charges $1 to sample up to eight wines; the fee is refundable with purchase.
Knapp Vineyards (607/869-9271)-
-Featuring wines that consistently win gold, silver and bronze medals in national and international competitions, this vineyard emphasizes its Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Additionally, a small production of Methode Champenoise Champagne brings depth and excitement to the vineyard's offering as does their own grappa. The vineyard itself opened for the sale of wine in 1984 and in 1992 a restaurant was added. Appropriately named The Restaurant at Knapp Vineyards, the facility offers an ever-changing menu to complement the wines. And the winery's innovation has continued; in 1995 Knapp became the first winery on the East coast to operate an Alembic Pot Still for the production of brandy. The tasting room is open April through December from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday. There is a $1 tasting fee, refundable with purchase.
Hosmer (607/869-3393 or 888/467-9463)-
-Over 100 years old, a majestic barn is the site of the Hosmer tasting room. This vineyard produces a wide range of premium wines, from dry Chardonnay and Pinot Noir to the sweet Raspberry Rhapsody and Fireside Red. Plus, they're well known for their Sangria, the only one produced on the Wine Trail. There's also an extensive gift shop that offers gourmet food items, as well as wine accessories, regional specialties and personalized wine labels. From April through December, the tasting room is open Monday through Saturday from 1 0 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. A $1 tasting is charged, refundable with the purchase of a souvenir wine glass.
Lucas Vineyards (607/532-4825)-
-Cayuga Lake's oldest winery offers more than a magnificent view of Cayuga Lake. With a tugboat captain in the family, the motto of this nautical- themed winery is "Wine if by land, tug if by sea." And the award-winning wines have memorable names--Evening Tide, Captain's Belle, Harbor Moon, Tug Boat White, Dry Dock and Tug Boat Red--as well as colorful bottles and unusual labels. As a special treat, you can make arrangements for barrel tastings, too. From May through December, the tasting room is open from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday; Sunday hours are noon to 5:30 p.m. From January through April, the tasting room is open on weekends only. There is no fee to sample the wines.
Six Mile Creek Vineyard (607/272-9463)-
-Situated on historic ground containing a pre-Civil War cemetery and stagecoach stop, the vineyard produces a number of wines, including several blends that underscore its status as the only winery in Ithaca: Ithaca White, Cascadilia White and Ithaca Red. And you can sample each of them from the spectacular tasting room that overlooks the vineyards. The renovated 18th century barn, true to its original Dutch-Reformed style, is large enough to accommodate parties and receptions. The winery is open year-round from noon to 5:30 p.m. for both tastings and tours. There is a $1 tasting fee, refundable with purchase.
King Ferry Winery (315/364-5100)-
-This small vineyard, producing Treleaven wines, uses many time-honored European techniques. Enjoy an informative tasting in a relaxed setting on the eastern shore of Cayuga Lake, where a free tour of the winery and a slide show (for a nominal fee) are available. The vineyard features wines for all occasions and tastes but is perhaps best-known for its award-winning Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay, Reserve Chardonnay and Chardonnay, all 1995 issues. Don't miss Oliver, either, a talkative cockatoo who will enthusiastically greet you! From April through December, the tasting room is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. In February and March, the tasting room is open on weekends only; the winery is closed in January. There is a $1 fee to taste up to 14 wines; the fee is refundable with purchase.
Long Point Winery
is located just off scenic Route 90, with a beautiful view overlooking Cayuga Lake. Winemaker Gary Barletta focuses his attention on the dry red wines such as Merlot and Syrah while Rosemary adorns the tasting room with unique gifts for all occasions. Grounds available for outdoor weddings.

laguna
we had a good weekend, i'm still pretty tired though. friday night i got home about 7 and we went out to eat at spragues then watched survivor. i'm so excited that bobby jon and stephanie are back. soo since we have to add to people we decided to wait until someone is kicked off this week and then redraw the names- sound good to everyone?
saturday we went to tj and kathleens wedding at the pulaski club. it was fun then we went out to sean patricks afterwards. i was the dd so it wasnt as fun to drive around a bunch of drunks but oh well.
sunday we went to the garlic festival (1st annual!!) then watch the bills suck it up in the game... hee hee. then we went over to kevin s. house (he was in our wedding) he was home for the weekend cause him and his fiance are planning their wedding for next summer. it should be cool, they are getting married at the ski resort.
today was crazy at work, stress, stress, stress. i got alot of my catchup work done though, so that is good. tomorrow i have to go to my kickboxing class, i hope i didnt miss too much the first week.
only 5 more days till the wine tour....

finally over
oh before i forget i can't watch survivor tonight so DON'T mention it to me or on your blogs. i'm watching it tomorrow night on tape.
not too much happened this week. last night we went to dinner at a mexican resturant and it was so good. we got to shop (well window shop) at little five points in atlanta and it looked like the cutest shops, but they all closed at 7pm and we didnt get there till 8:30... but they looked cool, one had emily the strange stuff and another had a huge sanrio poster in the window.
the night before we went to a seafood resturant and i got mahi mahi and tried some sushi. it was really good. i've had fun here i guess but i cant wait to go home and get some decent sleep. i keep waking up in the middle of the night thinking its morning. i'm drained. i'm going to bed tonight right after the OC. remember mums the word on survivor!!

plane ride
First I almost missed my flight, I was stuck in security and had to beg people to let me cut them because they were announcing my name on the loud speaker for last boarding call. so I run from security with my laptop and belt in hand- make the flight. so I go to my seat and I am between two old men. They both stink like smoke, gross. then the guy to my right keeps fidgeting and putting his arm on the whole arm rest and putting his feet in my feet space. We all of the sudden the guy to my right take a plastic bag out of his stuff and puts it to his face and starts puking. puking, spitting, couching, gagging...for like 5 minutes. It was HORRIBLE. so I looked to the guy to my left and was like "what do we do?!?" so we got the flight attendants attention after a bit and he got out and went to the bathroom. telling me he was sorry but he has food poisoning.
WHO GETS ON A PLANE WITH FOOD POISONING AND SITS IN THE WINDOW SEAT?!
anyways I got moved to first class so this guy could have his own row. That was a nice concession, but however I think I would have rather just sat next to someone without food poisoning from the beginning.

last day of golf
i rode my bike at lunch today and wow you must use totally different muscles to bike because i could barely make it. i was soo tired and out of breathe and my legs were all shakey when i was done. i have been very strict on my ww diet this week, hopefully it will pay off. it will be harder next week in atlanta b/c we go out to eat dinner all week and lunch usually has such good deserts. so i have to be strong.

thursday
this weekend we have some good plans, we are going to go test drive the highlander, see if we like it. cause right now there is a backorder list at the dealership and if we want to get one we have to get on the list. since gas prices have gone crazy recently i bet everyone wants a good gas mileage car. then we are going to detail my bug and get some pictures of it so i can try and sell it. see if i can get more than would the dealer would give me. saturday is also the irish festival here. its so fun, we are going to go there for dinner. sunday we are going to go 4-wheeling again and maybe hit the taste of olean before the bills play on sunday. so happy that its football season again.
oh did everyone see agassi won yesterday? he was down 2 sets and he came back and won. and people said his career was over.... he is way outlasting pete sampras
i got my green bug working again, thank god. what a pain it is. for weeks it doesnt start then all of the sudden it wants to.
next week i am going to be in atlanta again, too bad there are no baseball games. they are away all week. i have to fly out at 6 am on monday which means i am going to have leave at 3:30am AGAIN. makes for a very long day.
Katrina victims
Now becky i have a $500 limit....so you cant go overboard :)

labor day
Saturday afternoon Ryan and I and his parents went on a 4 hour 4-wheeling trip. it was a lot of fun, the first time we have really ridden it far. we went all over. it was nice to see that we can go on trails and not just around the house. we found a trail that takes you to spragues!! there was a sign in the woods pointing to spragues, very cool.
we had an eventful weekend, Saturday when we went to cook our dinner in the oven it decided it did not want to heat up. we have been having trouble with it taking forever to heat up and finally it pooped out. sooo Monday we went with our trusty home depot card and bought a new stove. I cant believe how much some stoves are. They range from $350 TO $1799. CRAZY. I wanted the $350 one for obvious reasons, but we actually got one that has no holes around the burners for food to fall into. Its very nice. we now have 12 months to pay it off. :)
I cleaned my bedroom so good, I can see the top of my dresser again. I went through all my jewelry and got rid of some things, I still cant get rid of my plastic ring collection. there are some great rings in that! And I'm thinking someday if I have little girls they would just love them. So I kept my polly pocket rings and my hello kitty stamp rings. But I did get rid of a lot of junk. I'm so proud of myself.
I also got some new pictures up and reorganized my kitchen to put stuff in the basement that we got for our wedding that we STILL haven't used, like linen napkins.... I think those will be a thanksgiving use only item.
Sunday night Ryan and I went to the drive-in- we saw red eye and skeleton key. They were both really good. I would recommend both.
so overall it was a very productive weekend.
Sep 1, 2005
sick
so katrina has wiped out most of new orleans and southern mississippi, we have a plant down there where my old boss (who i did not enjoy working for) is and they are without power for atleast 2 weeks. alot of our customers got hit by katrina so this could be very good for our business, however since we had major equipment malfunctions we may not be able to provide them. its sad that we track hurricanes and get excited when they hit.
last night i went to ww and it was horrible- i knew i had done bad but it was way worse than i had imagined. i'm starting to journal adain today and i need to keep it up. i think i will start going to the meetings to listen everyweek, but not weigh in until i know i wont have to pay again... or october whichever comes first.
oh i forgot the best part of ryans and mine first anniversary... ryan had roses sent to me at work, he is so dreamy :)
Aug 30, 2005
more
we woke up the next day and had to drive an hour back to the main land to go to walmart to get a new mattress and charcoal since we had forgotten our stove gadget to hook the propane to it. so every time we wanted to cook we had to light charcoal and then wait 45 minutes. not fun. the next day my car was really acting up (the starter didnt want to start the car). so we decided to go to the main land again and have my battery checked. we went to VIP (like autozone) and they said oh yeah its dead we can fix it- it will be about an hour wait. so we leave and walk down to the little plaza and waste an hour- walk back giving them some extra time cause we were probably gone an hour and a half and when we walk up the mechanic looking guy was like- is the bug yours? oh man i cant touch that with a mechanic, its buried. so we wasted over 3 hours to get there and wait to find out they cant do it. their mechanic had gone home for the day. so we waited till thursday when we were leaving acadia to get it fixed. it died thursday morning so we had to have another neighbor jump us. what a disaster. i am so looking forward to getting rid of the bug now.
after acadia we went to visit my friend carrie from clarkson. we got to see her new baby, he is so cute. if you have seen my pictures from our trip then you already know. we had such a good time visiting, we spent thursday night there and went out to dinner, we also went looking for moose but to no avail.
friday morning we went to burlington and toured the vt teddy bear factory and magic hat brewery. we filled 5 growlers, it was soooo good. at our hotel we were told they had an outdoor heated pool- so we decided at dusk time that we could swimming, it being heated and all. well when i jumped in it was about 50 degrees!! i would hate to see how cold an unheated pool is there.
saturday we drove back to syracuse to end our trip. we played trival pursuit and had a bbq. it was very fun except dad and i lost in trivial pursuit.
what a relief to be home though
work was crazy being gone for two weeks straight and i think it took til thursday to catch back up, then friday we had another catastrophy with one piece of equipment.
this past weekend ryan and i went to binghamton for a friends of his wedding. sunday was our one year anniversary, hard to believe its been a year already. yesterday i went to syracuse in the morning to golf with my dad in an all native tournament at the turning stone casino. it was such a nice course. i sucked terrible at golf but it was really fun otherwise. next year i think we should cheat so we can win a trophy.

New England vacation recap
well we went to boston first and got to shop and tour fenway and then see the game saturday night- johnny damon wasnt even playing! very disappointed. we started drinking at 4:30 with Taryn at some billards bar. cheap drafts.... then we drank through the game (well 6 innings) then it poured so we went to the bar. kinda like when becky, ryan, tim and i went to the yankees/red sox game in NY. then we went to some bar that wouldnt let ryan wear his visor (which he ended up losing...and it was the visor he got on our honeymoon :(.... i was mad)
needless to say we were all quite intoxicated by the end of the night.
we were suppose to get on the road about 8:30am but ryan was too hung over, actually we didnt wake up until 10 am. but didnt get on the road until 1pm. we got to Freeport after 3 hours (due to horrible traffic) after 3 hours of mad dash shopping in which we still managed to spend way too much we set off for Acadia national park. we didnt get there until 10:15...and it was pouring rain. We got the tent up no problem then when we went to put the air mattress up there was no stopper to stop the air from flowing out. soooo we had to sleep on the gravel. and to top it off i had turned my headlights on so we could see to put the tent up and ended up killing my battery. so if we had even wanted to leave and go to a hotel we couldnt because my car was dead. and i had no jumper cables.
more to come...
Aug 11, 2005
atlanta
anyways it has been fun. monday night i went to bed about 8 because i had gotten up at 3 am to get here. then tuesday night i went to the braves-giants baseball game. it was a very nice stadium.
last night i went out to dinner with RH (worked with him in sumter) he lives here in atlanta now.
tonight we are going to go to a mall i guess, if not i think i should just rest. i havent even gone in the pool yet....

sweat
my week has been very hectic trying to get everything settled for being off for 2 weeks. i got a laptop yesterday though- very cool. i think when i have to give it back i will so want to go buy one. i think work should give me one. lots of other people have them.
so this weekend we have jammed packed way too many things for one day. saturday we have a bbq to go to at 2:30 (in which we have to bring a dish to pass) then be to a wedding at 5, with a ~1 hour drive. Then go to the big 30 football game which starts at 7, with another 1 hour drive. Not sure how long we will be at the wedding, but it could be as little as 1 hour. but i think we might be alittle late to the football game. agh- i'm tired just thinking about it.
oh happy anniversary Cath and Mike!!

hotlanta
i got stung by ANOTHER bee when we went to the beach on sunday. it was a perfect beach day except for that incident. patty and linus barked at every dog (surprise, surprise) but i put linus in the lake and she liked it.
Last night i went to golf after work (my work league) and i get there put my golf shoes on and open my trunk and it was empty! i had forgotten my golf clubs! what a retard. i had to share with alice- i got my usual score so i know for sure i dont need to go out and buy new clubs, cause i would still suck. i dont think i want to play next year, i'm never going to get better- nor do i care to.

work
today I am working until about 11:30 then ryan and I are going to go garage sale shopping on our way home. I hope it isn't as disappointing as the last time we went. there was a "HUGE BARN SALE" a few weeks ago and we figured would be a good sale to get tools and such for our house. well we go to it and yes it was a HUGE BARN, but it was filled with crap like: USED boxers, bags of those hair rollers you sleep in, wigs, anything you would ever want to have if you owned a bird, and just plain junk. hope these ones today are better. we saw 3 on our way to work this morning though.
Tonight we have nicole and patricks wedding, it should be a good time. I am going to wear my new seventies skirt. Its sooo cute. I am sad that I am going to miss the Hahn family reunion, its always so fun and such good food.
tomorrow we are going to go to quaker run and go to the beach. its suppose to be 82 tomorrow. how fun!

bee's suck
Ryan and i have been looking into getting a bigger car for road trips and such cause my bug is alittle too small and ryans truck gets terrible gas mileage soooo we need an inbetween size. we have been looking at all sorts of SUV's to find something we both like. well today on the radio they were talking about toyots highland hybrid. it gets 30 mpg and its a 4x4 (for me getting out of our driveway) sooo i think this is the kind i want now. its alittle more expensive than the non-hybrid but we will get some sort of tax break by having a hybrid car. and we will get way better gas mileage. yipppeee! the only down side is the color selection is not very good. white, black, gold - all blach!! then silver or blue metallic - those would be the only 2 i would consider.
i have to go weigh in for july tonight- i am NOT looking forward to it at all. i hope to have lost 1.4 pounds that i needed to. i havent been sore from my kickboxing class yet- i'm thinking its not as effective as my other aerobics class i took. i'm very surprised how well my foot is doing now that i am exercising again.
we got a major rain storm last night- trees were down all over the place on my way to work- thank good we got some rain, my tomatos are looking dead compared to cathy's plants.

6th book...
but other than that the weekend was so much fun- Ryan and I left around 4 on Friday and drove up to Syracuse. When we got there we went shopping at Joanns and Target. I got the cutest skirt at Target and a bunch of other good stuff. They have all of their little dogs supplies on sale (well some of them) I wish I could get my dogs to go around in a little bag. :) Then we went to bed kinda early- there was no going out this weekend. I got up at 7am Saturday so we could make it to the Kohl's morning madness sale. oooh that was fun, it felt like the day after thanksgiving all over again :) I got a really nice ottoman (blue velvet) that also is a storage container. very nice. we got tons of stuff on sale, Ryan finally got his AC DC shirt he has been searching for. Cath had a 15% off coupon too which made the sales even better. Then we went home and went to Lakeview. We got there about noonish. Right when we got out of the canoes two labs came to attach me and my dogs. there was a chocolate lab puppy and a big yellow lab. They were awful cute. cath even thought so. Patty and Linus did pretty good with all the dogs and people, they only barked when dogs actually walked by.
After the beach we went to red lobster...oh it was divine :)
I guy I work with has a sister who took his golden retriever a few years ago and bred this dog and had puppies. Well today he IM'd me and asked me if i wanted to see something cool- so i went to his computer and there was a web cam of his dog having puppies! (another litter of pups) apparently his sister and her husband couldnt be home all day today so they set up a web cam on her so they could see when she was in labor and go home. It was the strangest thing ever, and this poor dogs was all alone in labor. i saw 2 or 3 puppies but she must have more.

Linnie Loo
I was reading my Harry Potter this morning after Ryan left cause he woke me up at 5:30 and I don't normally get up until 6:30. First I was laying down with my book on the pillow reading and Linus walked right across the pillow and layed on the book then I sat up so she brought her basketball up on the bed and was playing with it right next to me, then she turned looked at me and threw herself against my arm- like "helllo- play with me!!!" she is never like that to me- she does it usually to patty. who hates it. :)
So Harry Potter is so good- I want to bring it to work and read it at my desk... but at the same time I don't want it to be over- such dilemmas

harry potter
today it isnt as warm out but i am still sweating from my lunch time walk.
i'm not that sore today from kickboxing, i must not have done all 84,000 situps correctly- i have my yoga class tonight though so after that i should be okay-
i mowed our lawn last night- it had gotten very long in only a week- i was very surprised. i think i need to water our garden tonight cause its not suppose to rain very much the rest of the week. which is good though cause ryan and i are going to syracuse and we want to go to the beach. fun fun.

fillings
i just got back from my first kickboxing class at the Y and i think i am going to be sore tomorrow from it. we did 84,000 situps.
i washed my car yesterday with the new soap system that cath and mike got me- it worked so nice. and ryan got me for my birthday an easel that i can use to draw or paint and a pad of canvases. its so cool. i think i am going to start with a painting of patty and linus- or maybe a drawing- what do you think?
ryan and i went to dinner last night and we were going to go to the drive-in but we were too tired- maybe another day this week we can go.
oh cath- you forgot the chicken!

its my birthday!!!
well this weekend was crazy busy... I went to work saturday morning and then to the Italian Fest for a few hours and ran home showered/changed for the wedding. Ryans parents picked me up and we went to the outdoor wedding. it thundered during the ceremony but no rain fell. it was a nice short ceremony- then we went to the reception a waited and waited and waited for the party to get back. The rain slowed down the picture taking because they had to wait out the rain in between pictures. finally at 7:45 the wedding party was announced and we were allowed to eat. will and kristina had the cutest/creative centerpieces I have ever seen. each table was a city that they had visited in europe last year when they lived in switzerland for 6 months. and they had pictures of them and a little blurb about the place. and then everyone got a little thank you card that had a picture of them corresponding to the city of the table. very cute.
well during the wedding ryan, tammy, shane and I snuck over to the Italian fest for about 45 minutes.... it was soooooo crowded there. we saw everyone and their brother though. I also got a beer from someone then turned around and some drunk kid offered me $1.50 for it. (normally only $1 anyways) so I made some money there :)
ryan and I tried to do our dance that we learned for the wedding- we can only remember parts of it. I wish we had gotten it on video...
we left the reception a little after 1 and went to grannys for a beer then we went home. I was a little tipsy. I felt the need to finish off the head tables glasses of champagne...(yeah yeah I know- atleast I didn't screech at anybody) I think it gave me a bit of a headache sunday morning.
cath and mike stopped by sunday morning to visit for a few hours, it was very nice. I gave my dad his harry potter book- I already have 100 pages read dad- better get going on it!

I've read one and a half chapters and let me say ITS GOING TO BE GOOD!!!

Harry Potter
last night we went to the casino for the buffet- it was yummy as usual. i had about 35 king crab legs. mmm mmm. then we went back to my parents cabin and had a fire, even though it was close to 80 degrees. it was fun- a giant moth tried to kill my mom and there was the cutest little boy pomeranian at the cabin next to theirs, he had a lion cut. he was pattys size. patty and linus scared him though- i think they are a little aggressive :). he didn't ever bark either, i was so jealous. yeah and with out my knowledge sarah and junior took it upon themselves to take any camping supplies we had in our house/garage without asking. ryan said they could use our sleeping bags and i guess in their speak that means "take anything you need". feels like I'm back in high school when my clothes/stuff would disappear.
we didn't get home until 11:30 last night so i am so tired today. after work i have my golf league, dad is going to come down and golf with us too. should be fun. oh i got such good birthday presents, the automatic car washer thing from Mr. Clean, pretty colored golf balls, hello kitty tattoos, and the cutest hello kitty purse. i needed a new one for summer since my big ass purple purse is a little on the warm side with its fur...
have a wonderful weekend and be sure to get your copy of harry potter!!

Sweltering heat
Some kid was stabbed in don's friendly tavern last night (becky and luanne- where you went while you waited for the brakes to be done) and they died. wow how scary.
there have been alot of deaths here lately, a 19 yr old kid died last thursday night while speeding down a road- he flipped right over a bridge guardrail and landed upside down in a creek. I think some kid died on a motorcycle too. Blood alcohol was like .25 and he wasn’t wearing a helmet. Not so smart...
i took my yellow bug to get inspected yesterday and the check engine light is on- which with the new law they wont pass it until they fix it. soooo i have to replace the oxygen sensor which is like $175 just for the part. agh, cars suck.

Headache
it is so hot and humid here today. Its going to be 90 I think again. yesterday I had to golf in the 90 degree weather- it was soooo hot and horrible. and I golfed horrible on top of that. Alice carried her clubs though which must have been worse then me pulling my cart. when I got home I went swimming at ryans parents though- that was nice.
This week is going to be very humid. has everyone seen that a tropical storm is named Emily again? Hopefully nicole and patrick can get married this weekend without any problems from Emily. Will and Kristina are getting married on saturday here in olean and I just checked the weather and there is a 40% chance of rain/thunderstorms.
This weekend was fun- ryan and I went to see batman begins friday night. It was sooooo soooo good. I loved it. I want to watch it again. I think Christian bale is the best batman of all the others. saturday we went to letchworth state park hiking. I was so worried that patty and linus wouldn't be able to make the hike, but I should have been more worried about me making it! I'm in desperate need of going back to the gym. it was a lot of fun though and the waterfalls were beautiful.

Friday
yesterday was very nice i went shopping and then swimming at the Y. My arms were so sore afterwards. i need to start going to the gym again. i'm taking a kickboxing class and then ryan and i are going to take a yoga class once a week. Last night we went walking with the dogs- they really need to get back in shape for our big hike this weekend.
Tonight we are going to see batman returns, i can't wait. then tomorrow we are going to letchworth to go hiking for the day. the forecast is a little bad but i think we are going to risk it.
Patty's eye is STILL dilated.

liver transplant....
the weekend was so much fun- we hung out mostly with chad and kevin because this will be the last time chad is home before he goes to Iraq- so ryan wanted to see him. i dont like knowing people that are over there. Kevin said he will probably be going back sometime next year.
we saw fireworks sunday and monday night. Oleans were better than cuba's. both finales though were pretty disappointing.
I had to take patty to the doctor again yesterday because her eye got scratched on saturday somehow and so i put drops from ryans mom in her eye- but then her looked so weird (cause the drops make the pupil dilate...but i didnt know that) so i thought patty was going blind- her eye was all dilated and looked glossed over. but it isnt, she can see... $40 later it took though.

party time
i think its going to be a long weekend. esp since i have monday and tuesday and MAYBE wednesday off. ryan has already left for the party he is going to help brent cook chicken... i'm not sure if i can even eat chicken today i had it saturday and then all week. i think we still have some in the fridge and i know we have tons in teh freezer thanks to cath.
oh i put my pictures up on kodak- can anyone tell me what on earth cath is doing in the pictures where she looks like she is mental challenged? i think she might be dancing but i don't remember that.
its another beautiful day here only its not muggy, it's so much nicer. i have to go walk the dogs before the party then get ready to go. i'm in no rush though i dont think i will know too many people there until 4pm anyways.

Canada Day!
well its finally a new quarter, new month- so work isnt so hectic. we didnt make our 2nd quarter numbers though, not good. esp when you get blamed for it.
i finally weighed in for the month of june too and it was bad- very bad.. i had to pay for only the 3rd time in 3 years. ugh. back on track now though- counting every point. its going to be a tough weekend because we have parties to go to on saturday, sunday, and monday. it will be alot of fun though.
Last night when i left work on my way to meet ryan to go grocery shopping my green bug wouldnt start. it wouldnt even turn over. i thought maybe the battery died but all my lights came on- plus i didnt know where the battery was even located (under the back seat-i now know) So i called ryan and he came and got me (isnt he soooooo amazing?!) we went shopping then when i got home we had just gotten our AAA cards, perfect timing. so i called them and we had to go meet the tow guy at work to get the tow. when we got there my bug started! i felt so bad for making the tow guy come all that way and then the bug started. but i'm happy it started. dont know whats wrong with it. its very inconvienant when it doesnt start.
More upsetting news is that there is nothing that can be done with the 4 kittens that live in our barn and upset my Patty and Linus and probably the neighbors. Well there is but we have to do it ourselves. i called the SPCA and they have a LONG waiting list for kittens. We looked at other animal shelter places but noone touches cats really, esp wild ones. So we now have to do something... not sure what and i dont think i even want to know about it. Ryan will have to do it secretly.
