Well last night we had some visitors from NJ and CO come over. Promptly after dinner Luca started asking everyone to play baseball with him. He had gotten a foam bat and ball to play with this week in NJ. Its so much nicer than the wiffle ball type kits I remember always playing with. The bat looked like a real wooden bat- but it was dense foam. very nice- i think everyone was impressed with it except murphy- who was struck by it accidentally :) Anyways it was fun night running around the backyard with Luca...and only 1 person stepped in poo.

Hunts and Bakers - 2008

We took a trip to portville this weekend so that Audrey could meet all her family...or well vice versa I guess- because she probably wont remember this weekend. but anyways it was fun. Ryan and his dad did their famous chicken. all the family came over, lots of friends and their kids too. We gorged on chicken...sooo yummmy. Audrey was a popular hot potato- and we got lots of pictures with her.

sunday we got up early and ryan, his dad and I went and practiced shooting soda cans with ryans gun. my shot is not so good- but my thoughts are if someone was in my house to get me and i went to shoot them they would be bigger than a soda can so I would be alright. right???

i drove home yesterday- b/c ryan is working in NY until wednesday. met up with cath and mike at a reststop. we didnt get home until after 8pm last night...long trip :)

Overall it was a nice relaxing trip- the weather could have been more like philly- hot/humid/no rain....but i still got to swim and mananged a sunburn so i cant complain.

It was back to work for me this week...not fun. but the good side is i have next week off. we are heading up to binghamton to camp (in cabins) with the fam (minus becky) who has used all her vacation already... she'll come down for a night though.
ryans parents are down visiting and watching audrey for the week.

its been hard to get back to work- hard to concentrate on things for more than 10 minutes at a time. and the lack of sleep is getting to me- i had not functioned before 10 am in a long time- or worn socks. i had to drink a whole cup of coffee the first day and a soda...i had the caffine jitters. its getting easier though. i think i just need to adjust to less sleep.

This past weekend we went to my work picnic- it was alot of fun. ryan got to meet some of the people i work with. we got a family portrait taken, food, airbrush face painting, swimming, door prizes- (well i didnt win anything) but they were giving away xbox systems, laptops, nintendo DS, $100 gift cards...it was crazy. and we got to play bingo :) the best line was when we were leaving (*note: where i work is about 75% indian, dot not the feather) ryan said "i feel like we are in India"

i got a facial and pedicure for my birthday present - which i went on saturday to get. the facial was pretty cool- i had never done one before. i learned i have alot of congestion in my pores. And need to use lotion every day. they used this cool powder sunscreen on me too- i want to find some of that to buy.

my birthday is coming up next week- Sarah and Jr are coming to visit for the weekend- should be a good time - they havent been since new years i dont think. it will be cool to see audrey and teagan together...not that audrey does much but cry and sleep but anyways...

i have no idea what i want for my birthday...(except i know i dont want a new computer monitor) any ideas?

July 4th weekend

Our guests just left from the holiday weekend...it will be an adjustment now not having a helping hand with the baby- she requires some 'hold me time' to fall asleep that having extra people really helps with, so you can do anything. And of course all the other work grammy did was very helpful. Her and Ryan were responsible for the garden and cleaning of the house. We actually didn't leave the house very much- but i had a very good time-

Audrey was born June 18, 2008 at 4:02pm, she weighed 8 lbs 1 oz and was 20 3/4" long.














I think she looks just like her dad..this is a picture of him when he was a baby.














Labor was not fun as to be expected but its all over now and we have a healthy little baby girl. we got home from the hospital friday afternoon and things havent been too bad. Ryan had researched how to introduce the baby to the pups and so far so good. the only pup interested in linus - Hopefully it wont be long until she is not obsessed with her.

well there has been 24 hrs of no new groundhog stories...thank god. I took linus to the vet and it cost $100 to have her looked at, shaved and the wound cleaned, and some anitbotics. All in all 15 minutes of the vets time. they picked the right business. this morning she wasnt acting normal, she didnt even want a biscuit when i offered her one- i'm hoping by tonight when i get home she will be back to normal.

i had an ultrasound this morning and the baby is estimated at 8lb 13 ounces. i'm hoping that they are way off. especially since i have atleast a week to go. i'm putting money on june 27th to deliver. Ryans guess is June 22nd.

dogs vs groundhog round 2

well if sundays attack/killing wasnt enough excitement for the dumb groundhogs then yesterdays better have been.

i got home from work and let the dogs out- i checked the right side of the yard (where the previous attack happened) before letting them out and it was clear. i watched the poms run about looking for the goundhogs and then saw them both sprint over to murphy on the left side of the lawn. The big fat mother groundhog was in the fence! and murphy was surrounding it- then all 3 of them were. I was TERRIFIED that one of my dogs was going to get very hurt. i was screaming at the top of my lungs at them. i didnt know what else i could do. well screaming did nothing- the dogs all ignored me. i panicked (surprise, surprise) i was running into the house and back out screaming for them to stop and let the thing go- the groundhog was screeching and the whole gang of them were moving toward the house. i was honestly thinking it might try to run into the house to escape the pack of dogs. i threw our lawn chair out toward them to try to break it up. nothing. meanwhile i think i was screaming the whole time. the pack was moving a little to right of the yard - where the ground can escape - if it makes it alive. well in my last ditch effort i throw our other chair at them and it separates murphy and linnie from patty and the groundhog. enough space that the groundhog gets a few feet away and darts toward the fence. patty runs along barking at it like an idiot. the groundhog escapes- not sure with what damage.
then i ran inside and lost it. hysterically call ryan who probably thought something had happened to the baby or something.
well linus has some battle wounds- a cut on her muzzle and fang marks on her side. i bet she was the only one who actually bit the groundhog though. we called the vet after some research on the internet knowing full well they would just want us to come in so they can take $. i think linus will be fine. we cleaned the wounds with peroxide and bag balm and she didnt even wince. but i am taking her today to get a rabies booster shot and have her wounds checked out. this wont be cheap.

and i bet the baby crawled into my ribs and will never want to come out now into our crazy madhouse.

karma gets even dogs...

heat makes dogs kill

there are always stories about people going crazy and killing during hot hot days- like it makes people crazy or something- i think (hope) the same is true for pomeranians. Yesterday we had a crime committed in our backyard. This weekend it was 95+ on saturday and close to 100 on sunday. Saturday while I was in the kitchen I noticed the big fat mother groundhog in our fence. i opened the window and yelled at it to get out. it did listen to me and left the fenced in yard. Well sunday afternoon about 1pm Murhpy and Linus were sitting by the back door (shade was pulled) so i let them out thinking they hadnt been out in a while. for some odd reason i watched them as they ran out the door to the corner of the yard right where the groundhog had left our yard the day before. As I was saying to ryan isnt it weird they run right over there i see a little baby groundhog running for its life to the fence and jumps through it. then i see linnie dart to the right and out of my sight. i see 2 more baby groundhogs running from the yard to the fence. both of them make it out. then i look over to see linnie and there is something brown in her mouth! i started screaming at ryan- oh she got one! she got one! ryan ran outside and had to pry her away from the poor dead groundhog. he disciplined her pretty good- hopefully it helps. i doubt it though. luckily the big mom wasnt in the yard too or linnie would have had her hands full. i bet murphy would have gotten involved if that happened. Murphy was just watching her in disbelief i think.

Classes

With the upcoming birth of our baby Ryan and I have been preparing by taking some classes that the hospital offers. It was when my niece was born that I realized soon I was going to have a newborn to take care of only I knew absolutely NOTHING about babies. so i looked into the classes that were offered and signed up for all of them that applied to us.

so far we have completed the CPR and first aid for infants- that class was good except that i think they really try to scare you and basically call 911 if anything happens was the message we got. We did learn how to do CPR though. Hopefully nothing we learned in that class we ever have to use.

we then took a 4 week childbirth class. There were 8 other couples in that. we toured the birthing center at the hospital, learned all about whats going to happen, they showed lots of videos on birthing that i chose not to watch, learned about breathing for pain control, pain meds, c-sections, shaking baby syndrome- NOTE to all - shaking a baby violently can do serious damage to their brain and could kill them. Soooo basically I learned WAY too much and now i am terrified. that class made it all too real. Ryan has taken on the 'coach' role and he is very serious about it - its kinda cute.

Last night i went to a breastfeeding class- which I thought was actually very informative and didnt totally gross me out.

We have one last class on newborn care to take next weekend and then she can come- we will be educated :)

unfinished projects

well we didnt finish the garage this weekend, we ran into a few snafus... Saturday morning ryan started bright and early while i slept in. about 10 am it was time for me to help steer the bug out of the garage. so the garage was pretty much empty by 11am. Thats when the painting was to start- but that was the first problem- we tried to use the spray painter ryan got for christmas- after a trip to lowe's we still couldnt get the sprayer to work- so we gave up with that and ryan started to paint with a roller. Painting wasnt finished until about 6pm. Ryan then started building his bench and got alittle done and then gave up for the day.
sunday it took all day for the bench to be built, so by sunday night we had very little done. but we were invited to a party of one of ryans coworkers so we went to that. The coworker of ryans is vietnamese but lived in cambodia most of his life. when we got there i had a corona handed to me..if only :) and then after that a steady stream of cambodian food- i ate some curry soup - the broth was very good, a little spicy but yummy. when i noticed ryan pulling things out of his mouth and putting them on his plate i decided to stick to the broth. turns out it was chicken in the soup- bones and all. and the chicken had been killed that morning at the asian grocery store nearby. too much information and freshness for me. i was "full" soon after that came out. ryan thought it was cool- he had some chicken wings after that- he said they were very good. i wouldnt know.
ryan proceeded to drink alot- so monday morning he was alittle slow getting back to work.












monday we organized as much as we could and then went to a nearby lake to take the dogs for a walk and have a picnic. the park was beyond packed though with lots of dogs - so it wasn't that relaxing...

its so strange not to have a survivor update to post.. but it never fails i have a house project to report on. this weekend we are going to tackle the garage. the plan is to remove everything- paint the walls and ceiling and then unpack and organize it all back in. and all this in 2 days. we want to have monday to relax but we could always finish monday. and i am not suppose to lift heavy things- so ryan is going to be very tired by monday.

i'll be sure to post the before/after pics.

Tonight we are going to see Iron Man... after getting such rave reviews from becky i want to see it...and i have always loved RD jr too. i havent been to a movie since last year i bet. with netflix i just put them on my queue when they start advertising them in the theaters and before you know it they have been released and delivered in the mail. so much thriftier :)

NYC

This weekend ryans parents came down to visit and go to a NY Yankees game...since the stadium is closing this year...so we paid 4X's the face value of a ticket and took 3 trains/subways to get up to the game- walked a million and 2 steps to our seats. we literally were the very last row of the stadium. the nice part about it was you could stretch your legs into the steps...but i held on the my seat the whole time- it was quite high and scary...and i only went to the bathroom once- thank god it was a quick game. i was not treking up and down those steps more than once. The game actually was alot of fun- there were no drunks that could spill beer on us either- it was literally impossible. the guy sitting in front of us had come all the way from alaska for the game. note to anyone going to yankee stadium- they dont let you bring in backpacks- we had to check our backpacks at a bar across from the stadium and put anything we wanted into a plastic bag...at the phillies stadium i could have brought rolling luggage if i wanted...
The yankees didnt win but it was an exciting game- lots of runs. i was so exhausted by the end of the day though- we did alot of walking around after the game too. i think i'm still sore.

we took the subway to the WTC and got the best view of ground zero- the subway runs/ran right into the bottom of the building. it made me realize that people were probably in there when the buildings collapsed though. scary.

SOLD!!

We finally only own 1 house!!! so exciting!!! our house sold today... thank god- i was starting to panic about it...thinking it would never sell. we didnt make any money on it and we put alot of money/work into it- but oh well. atleast its no longer our problem.

RIP Portville house

This weekend was another road trip- this time we went to portville for my baby shower. It was alot of fun. I got soooo much cute stuff. I havent really gotten to really look at anything yet though- we didnt really have a lot of room to bring stuff back and ryans parents are coming down this weekend for a yankees baseball game so they are bringing our presents. so it will be like the shower all over again this weekend. :) Sunday morning we made breakfast for the mothers on mothers day. it was yummy.

Last night we got home about 7 and had to quickly plant a bunch of rose plants and other plants. We finished just in time to start watching survivor. needless to say i am very tired today at work.

OMG!! Two more people out...this is a record. i was sad to see James have to leave. He really is a geninuine person who you just wanted to win the money. And finally the idol has been played- that was exciting not knowing if she found- i didnt think she had the way she was playing it up so bad. housework

finally got the "we have alot to do to our house before the baby is born" bug into ryan. This week he has been painting our bedroom- it looks so nice- i love the color its making it look very classy. he is doing one wall a night though so pictures wont be up until next week. tonight we have yard work to do instead of painting and then cath and mike are coming to visit so it will be 3/4 done when they see it. i can start decorating the walls he has finished. this weekend while ryan and mike are golfing, cath and i will be slaving in the garden. hopefully not in the rain too. it will be nice to have the outside of the house looking complete. We only have one more room to paint after the bedroom and then the spare bathroom to update and we should be ok. Besides actually finishing unpacking our stuff. i only have 51 more days till this baby is born- its crazy how fast it has gone.

Cleveland

Well this weekend was one of ryans friends wedding in cleveland. we drove to cleveland saturday morning (left at 4am!) got there in time to walk the dogs and get ready for the wedding and go. (oh dog owners- FYI red roof inn is pet friendly.) the ride actually wasnt too bad- i was expecting to be uncomfortable for the whole 7 hours but i didnt pretty good- i was actually able to sleep alittle too. ryan drove 5 of the 7 so that helped too. the wedding was a catholic ceremony and lasted a little over an hour. then we had 3 hours before the reception so we went back to the hotel walked the dogs again and i took a little nap. Then we went to the wedding which was at the brides family business- they own a catering service and a banquet center- so it was very nice. i think someone said 400 people were there. the dinner was good- but the cookies and cake were the best! by 10:30ish i was ready to go- my feet were hurting and everyone was pretty drunk so there was lots of dancing- i managed to get ryan to go home about midnight. but even then the party was still going strong. i wonder what time it ended- i bet the sun was up. because they own the place there was no time limit...

the next morning wasnt so pleasant...we got up about 9am and were on the road by 10- we had to make an unexpected stop for ryan...too much beer :) luckily him and his friends never got into the shots or liquor.

oh ryan also says next time we move its going to be to ohio- we stopped at a cvs to get some bandaids for my new shoes and he wanted to get some beer- well in ohio they sell beer, wine, liquor and champange in drug stores! he was so excited...

Half way through the episode i was liking Natalie- but by the end of the episode i was thinking shes a little too cocky and a little coockoo - talking about taking Jasons jugular and flossing with it.

Phillies-Mets

Saturday we went to the Phillies-Mets game. We went down extra early so that we could walk around the stadium and watch the warm ups and batting practice. it was cool- it reminded me of when I was little and we would go to the syracuse chiefs games and get autographs from the baseball players. One home run from batting practice came within 100 feet of me and that was enough- scared the crap out of me. I saw where our seats for the red sox game will be- very good seats. I want to go early to that game too because then atleast i will know the players that are warming up. I dont know any mets or phillies players. It was a beautiful day too- 80 degrees and sunny.

The downside to the day was our section. We got up to our seats and it was pretty much empty- and it was 5 minutes before the game started. It soon started to fill up with Mets fans. And not just mets fans- but mets fans who had taken a bus to philly and apparently started drinking the second they got on the bus. 'obnoxious drunk new yorkers' was used about these people numerous times throughout the game. About the 3rd inning the first fight broke out. And two people were escorted out of the game. I think every inning after that the police and security were up in our section. i had some beer spilled on me...a drunk guy almost fell on me as he was passing by my seat, a drunk man was in the womens bathroom- claiming it was a 'uni-sex' bathroom. The attendants from our section were pretty rude to everyone because of the crowd i think. i had to show my ticket everytime i left and came back. People were warned that no 'cursing' was allowed- and one drunk kid behind me was told to sit down and watch the game or he would be kicked out. so the kid sat down right behind me and complained for about 30 minutes on how he couldnt stand up. How he was going to talk to that attendants manager. meanwhile this kid was slurring every word out of his mouth and when the phillies scored yelled 'its only 1 point'... so as a manager i would definately listen to what unfair treatment this kid was getting.

first blister of the summer

well since we have had 2 days now of 80 degree weather i officially consider it summer. yesterday i walked the poochies and got my first blister. another sign of summer. i would think by now my feet were tough enough to not get blisters but it never fails every summer i get terrible blisters. My flowers are all blooming too and we mowed the lawn already.

i think the weather down here is really different from western NY and CNY for that matter. i hope i like it. I'm not a fan of the heat heat. I actually really like winter and snow... i hate rain and unbearable heat.

This weekend we are staying at home...whoo hooo. tomorrow we are headed to philly for the Phillies-Mets baseball game. Should be a fun time. We are going early too so we can watch warm up and things like that. And we also just bought tickets for a yankees game in May. Its a mad rush to go to yankee stadium b/c its the last year. i personally have no desire to go but ryan and his parents want to. i figure since he has been to countless red sox games i shouldnt put up too much of a stink. but i am not that excited about it. the only cool part is that we are going to take a train from NJ to the city so that will be fun.

Well they got ozzy....i didnt think they did the way they showed the vote results. i liked how they showed ozzy right before tribal council saying how jason was 'outwitted and outplayed and thats the game' and then he was! ha ha ha. i wonder if he will be so mad still by the time jury comes around. i think that cirie should win- she is the mastermind.

long hours in the rav

Well this weekend i spent 14.5 hours in the car. Friday night we went to portville. good murphy story that night. ryans mom made us a quilt and was showing it to me on the bed. murphy had jumped up on the bed and was sniffing all over the quilt. i said to him "murphy this is for the baby" and he immediately lifted his leg and peed on the new baby quilt! thats what he thinks about her apparently. I was so shocked i could barely even yell at him. I screamed in disgust because he practically peed on my hand and he jumped off the bed and ran out of the room.

saturday i went up to buffalo for a shower and bachelorette party for my friend, and some shopping in between to kill time. It was a good time. i wont be able to make the wedding so i am glad i got to go to this.

sunday we went to see the baby- got a few pics of her, i took most of them on ryans camera so i dont have them. i took a video of her in her swing for auntie B. hopefully i can figure out how to post it. its very exciting...

baby shower

This past weekend we headed up to f-ville for my baby shower. It was so much fun- we
played lots of fun games. i have been waiting to play the diaper game where you put melted candy bars in a diaper and you have to figure out what kind of candy bar it is ever since i saw it on girls next door. it was as fun as i thought it would be! And i got to see so many people i havent seen in forever. we got the cutest hello kitty stuff too. things i didnt even know they made. ryan was thrilled. the best though when i was showing ryan and junior a hello kitty stuffed animal that lights up and has a song- and junior states matter of factly- "thats going to scare the shit out of her" :)

oh we watched pans labyrinth last night too. that was really good, strangely gruesome at times but good- however i had no idea it was all in subtitles. ryan loves when i pick movies.

Well becky is out now...alittle surprised they voted ami instead of erik- but i think they have a better chance with winning challenges with erik over ami- even though they go into the merge next week. I must say i have never seen such honesty in tribal councils before this season. its kind of weird. i laughed so hard at the preview for next week with eliza telling jason that his 'immunity idol' is JUST A STICK. and it was classic when james was opening the beer bottles with his teeth...and ryan said he used to do that in college with his frat brothers. oh how his mother would be so happy to know she spent her savings on his braces and he bit off beer bottles with his teeth afterwards.

no survivor update

no survivor this week!!! i'm shocked...i wonder if because so many people have quit or had to leave that dont have enough episodes now. so they took a week off. oh well i watched basketball last night anyways. i just love march madness even though my team didnt make it this year. its always fun to do the brackets. alot of my teams are out already though. i think i only have 2 of the final 4 left. I think ryan wins every year out of him and i. next year...

this will be a nice quiet weekend, our last one until mid may. we have trips planned for most weekends of april and beginning of may. we are going to go see stop-loss tomorrow night i think. other than that just finishing up. we have to paint one more thing in the bathroom and then you can see pictures of it. its soooo nice now.

i forgot what a 'normal' vet visit is like. I have been going to a vet in portville for the last 2-3 years where you dont need a 'wellness' visit to get the annual shots. its like a lunch line to get shots on certain nights. just go in with 1-3 of your dogs and he gives them the shots they need, barely even noticing the dog- and poof you are done. cost is very low like $40 maybe. well we took linus to the vet last night to get all her shots and they want a poop sample, bloodwork for heartworms (which we should have been doing but anyways), her shots, and a checkup. $160!!! and we have 2 more dogs to take... i'm going to have take a loan out for our pet care.

work/rest weekend

we were suppose to tackle alot of our house projects this weekend- mainly the bathroom and the basement, maybe the garage if we got to it. but ryan came down with a terrible cold thursday so we rested alot too. i was actually more motivated than him which is very unusual. but the abthroom just needs a coat of paint and it is done. I cant wait to have a toliet paper holder again. the basement was half organized. i think i unpacked 15 boxes though. so i feel pretty accomplished.
i'll post pics of the bathroom once its done but here is the basement - the part i organized atleast.















the weather has been beautiful here- today is sunny and i dare say warm. the mud in the backyard is almost dry too.

Survivor Update #7

Surprisingly survivor was on wednesday night...making today feel more and more like a friday. poor carrie- both her people are gone not from tribal council but by their own accord or injuries. i'm glad they voted tracy and not ozzy. i wonder if ami and tracy could have pulled off the blindside ozzy. this might have been their only chance... i dont see erik actually voting for him though. other than that it was a pretty boring episode. they didnt even show the two who were on exile island.

American Idol

Is anyone watching american idol this season?

i find that david archuleta is creepy and annoying...does anyone else? i dont understand why the judges LOVE him. i cant even watch the tv when he sings anymore because of that annoying thing he does when he licks his lip every 2 seconds. i told ryan last night that if he makes it to the top 10 i wouldnt go see the tour.

short week

I have a short week this week- friday off. i dont think i have had good friday off before. not too much planned except for some house projects to be completed. ryans parents are coming to help too. and for easter. Atleast our guest rooms in the house havent been wasted :) when we bought the house i was thinking that it was way too big (well i still do) and that we were going to have all this room and no one would actually come visit us. but last weekend we had a bunch of people stay for st pattys day, two weeks before that my friends came to visit and now this weekend too.

St Pattys Day was fun. It sucked pretty bad not being able to have a beer though...or 15 of them like i usually do :) i guess i should look at the bright side of not having a hangover the next day. i was hoping someone would have a hangover so i could laugh at them...but i think i am the only one who gets the terrible terrible hangover.

Finally got rid of him...I was very glad to see Chet go. what a wuss-bag though. I wish they had shown us him telling his team not to vote for Ozzy but to vote him off instead. I also liked how Jonathan had already won the million dollars in his head- but because of his injury he wouldnt be able to finish the game. hello does he know there are still 13 people in the game?? its not like he was down to the final 4 and had to leave the game. i almost thought he was going to stay in even though he could die. Its funny that James is stuck with all the girls.

another trip

well i am in tennessee again this week. i'm hoping this will be the last time before the baby is born. no issues getting to tn, and hopefully there will be no natural disasters either. i slept the whole flight- i'm afraid i might have been snoring :) but oh well. i have been snoring alot lately. i think its a pregnancy thing. atleast ryan hopes so....

This might be a record that after only 5 episodes someone is out....actually i think carrie once might have had the first and second person voted out. but it still sucks. i was torn too- because i can not stand Joel or Chet so I wanted either one of them to go- more so chet since i had Joel but oh well. i like how a few people wrote down "truck" instead of Joel. Chet is so unbelievably useless. He can talk to chickens though. And the fans camp was such a joke- it was funny how impressed they were with the favorites- like it takes going out on survivor one time to know not to put your fire pit in the oceans tide. helllloooooo....

tiramusi

this weekend some of my college friends that use to live in the Philadelphia area came to visit...it proved to be very knowledgeable for us, they showed us a new cool town we need to go to and they showed us the much needed shortcut into the city to avoid the always trafficy highway. we went to dinner at maggianos and had family style. it was soooo yummy. ryan had never been and was thoroughly impressed. i think we came home with over 10 boxes of food. granted some boxes had 2 raviolis in it, but still. i even had some tiramusi left over. so i left the house with the intentions of going to dinner and coming home. well my friends were going into philly to meet up with some of their old friends at a bar. and ryan couldn't say no to that, even though before we left for dinner he was saying how he could just sit on the couch the rest of the day... so we went to a bar and we got there pretty early- since both me and my friends wife are in 'non-drinking' conditions, we got to slurp down water with lemon- very fun :) the bar was nice but a few hours after we got there i started to get uncomfortable because i was dressed in my running sneakers, jeans, and a long sleeve t-shirt and this bar was turning into quite the trendy place. i dont think besides me anyone was wearing less than 3" heels and leaning more toward the hooker scale than the pregnant lady scale. i felt so out of place every time i had to go to the bathroom. luckily my friends had stayed up until 3 am the night before and were tired too and wanted to go home so we didnt stay too late. but on our way out i saw that the bar had put up ropes and people were waiting to get into this bar- they must have been aghast when they saw me come out and they were waiting in the freezing cold to get in! ha ha ha

Did anyone else feel bad for the fans team? they were absolutly killed this week in both challenges. i wonder if thats why they are going to mix the teams up or if it was planned all along. I really think ozzy has gills too-- either they dont show him come up for air or he just doesnt... i'm so glad he got the idol- because he definately has a target on his back.

301st post

Wow- my last post was my 300th post! thats crazy. i wonder what % of those posts are survivor results :)

this weekend we went to portville to see the new baby- here are LOTS of pics of her and the trip, but mostly teagan.

The drive up was horrible- we hit a snow storm in scranton and had to drive about 35mph for a hour- we saw lots of cars in the ditches, and alot of them turned around in the road. i wonder how fast they were driving to manage that.... once we hit the NYS border though the road were a million times better. they actually plow and salt i guess. we made it though...just took longer.

We went and saw the baby- last wednesday when the baby was born i had said to ryan "oh we have to wait 4 more months until we get to see our baby..." and after this trip I think I am going to need those 4 months to prepare... So much to learn. luckily sarah and jr are keeping a little "tip" list for us. and they will be able to answer alot of questions since it will be so new to them. Plus it seems that EVERYONE has advice to give the new parents...so i dont think we will be lacking in that :) And i think i will take every baby class they offer at the hospital.

I was so upset they voted off Yau...its very funny though how much more open the favorites are this time about who they are voting off. and i think they should have named this veterns vs fans or something, because name 1 person who considers Jonathan or Eliza a "favorite"? baby tigers and fondue

yesterday ryan and i went to a pet expo to see some baby tigers and look at pet stuff. i was alittle disappointed in the baby tigers. i was picturing a little play area with the tigers running around and maybe even we'd be able to pet them. instead it was a cage inside a roped off area with a dog cage inside. two fat men sitting beside them eating food or reading a paper. looking VERY uninterested in the adorable baby tigers.














we then went to the melting pot for dinner. it was very good- we got there 5 minutes after it opened and were told they were completly sold out for the night but we could eat in the bar if we wanted to. so since the bar was empty we decided that was fine. the food was good, very overpriced though. we paid $92 for the 2 of us for a dinner with no leftovers. we got the fiesta cheese appetizer, the main meal - 1 lobster tail, 4 pieces of filet minon, 4 shrimp, 4 ravioli, 4 pieces of chicken, pork and beef tenderloin. We also got salad and some veggies. the dessert was amazing- i took pictures of it all. but really they make a killing at the melting pot- you pay for the setting. cause if you think about it they dont have any cooks to pay, they give you raw food to cook yourself. i think if i went back i would go for just appetizers or dessert. The one perk was they forgot to add all the beer ryan drank so that saved us some money :).

i just realized that i have the incredible hulk as my only player left...i dont think i am going to win... he is pretty annoying i think. now that my 'fan' is the only person i have left i really want the 'favorites' to lose the immunity challenges. why is it they are only doing one challenge an episode??

winter warning

this weekend K&NO came to visit- we had a good time. we did a whirlwind tour of philadelphia on saturday and then went to the king of prussia mall. we went to the cheesesteak sub corner in south philly. and while i was trying to find a parking spot i accidently bumped a car. no damage was done but it was nerve wracking all the same. i dont think i could ever live in a city. we saw the liberty bell, the rocky steps, and betsy ross's house-which we didnt pay to tour but you can. We ate at the cheesecake factory...yummy. i got the keylime cheesecake and it was soooo goood. next time i am going to try the tiramisu cheesecake i think. We went to the sanrio store there- and when we were leaving a store manager ran out and stopped 2 girls who were leaving at turned them around and took them to security. i think they were sticky fingers.... i wanted to go into urban outfitters and see if they had the linus blanket for the baby...but we got to go eat before i could and i forgot to go after we ate. i'll have to look online to see if i can order it.

murphy did not get along well with katie (NO's pug) i dont know if its the breathing/grunting that she does all the time or what but without being provoked murphy would attacked her. it was very stressful. murphy hasnt done that since camping in rollins pond i think.

its so funny today there is a 'winter weather warning' because 1 inch of snow *might* fall.... atleast the ground is frozen right now...

wreckage hunt

well in my efforts last night to find some good damage like the ones i have been seeing on the news i only saw one area with some apparent damage. i did alot of double takes with houses that i thought could be but there was actually nothing wrong- it was their normal house/yard. the one area that did have damage was crazy because only one house in the middle of a bunch of them had damage. all of the sudden there was metal scraps and pieces of trash (i assume the house) strung out along the road- a car that had looked like it was droppped in the middle of a field after hitting a bunch of things. but just that one house was damaged. i also found out today that the town i was staying in was in the predicted path of the tornado- only i was sleeping when that happened so i didnt know. luckily the weather people were wrong...

back to the safety of PA today...

tornados

Well i am in tennessee again this week for work- and i had no flying adventerous (but i still need to fly home) but last night there were tornados that went by just to the north of where i am staying. I woke up size to golf ball hail hitting the roof at the hotel. scared me a bit- we never lost power or anything though so that was nice. But right to the north of me lost power, tornado came through destroying houses, killing people, and started a fire at a natural gas plant. People are saying it looks like a war zone. I'm going to try and find some wreckage after work. (is that awful?) i do feel bad for these people but i want to see some of it. i dont think i have ever seen the wreckage from a tornado.

It's a Girl!

we found out yesterday at our ultrasound that we are having a girl....i'm so excited!! this means i can have all the hello kitty stuff i want... well ryan asked that i don't go overboard with hello kitty, that he is having anxiety over it... but we will see :)

going green

as most of my family knows i am all about going green...(they are way in the red zone)...well last night ryan and i made our first batch of laundry detergent...i'm going to test it out tonight. i'll let you know how it works. and if anyone is interested the recipe is on the simple dollar website. (oh yeah its alot cheaper than buying detergent too) it reminded me of making homebrew...which also reminded me we havent made a batch for probably a year- our last batch i think was our irish stout for st pattys day.

me being pregnant has helped out finances because we buy ALOT less beer...i dont think i drank THAT much...but maybe i did...or ryan is drinking less but i find that unlikely cause i feel like he drinks an awful lot.

scrapbook away...

i'm so excited this weekend i got my scrapbook area set up...well almost set up...a good start anyways. i went and got a 6 foot table and a storage organizer to be my scrapbook area. i have unpacked 3 boxes of stuff and i think i have everything. its so hard because i dont know exactly what i have so i dont know if i am missing a box. i still cant find my container of homemade cards. which is really making me mad- but atleast now i can make some new ones.


















we also painted the laundry room and moved a shelf in from the garage. it looks nice. while moving the shelf from the garage we rearranged and got my bug inside. i am soooo happy about that. it hurt me a little everytime i came home and saw my bug in the rain or snow... so now its safely in the garage. still not running though... it was about 40 degrees and sunny today. very nice. ryan and i were commenting on how we never would be doing something outside in january back in portville.

adventurous morning

i'm currently in tennessee on business... i flew out this morning and it was awful...besides having to get up at 5:30am...i left with 1 hour to get to the airport, 1 hour to get to my gate. when i got to the first highway from my house traffic was backed up all the way to the toll booths. it took me 30 mins to get 5 miles b/c of an accident. so i got to the airport in 1:15 minutes, took 15 minutes to find a parking spot- then i went to the electronic check in- checked in, hit "0" bags to check in... went up to security line it wasnt too long so i thought for sure i'd be okay. i take my sneakers off, get some of my stuff in the bins to go through the xray machine and i hear this woman yelling "ma'am...ma'am that wont fit as a carry on you have to check that" talking to me about my suitcase. i looked at her and said i cant go back and check this or i will miss my flight. she didnt seem to care about that- so...i run back down the stairs in my socks- back to the machine i left 10 minutes before to see if it will let me add a check in luggage...and it gives me the error - cant check in within 30 minutes of departure see a ticket agent. so i finally get someone to explain that i have to rebook- that i wont make my flight. i was soooooo mad- almost in tears because i was soooooo close. so i go to tticket counter, put my sneakers back on...and rebook a later flight which isnt a direct flight and i am 3 hours later than my original plan. oh well i guess. more miles for my card. oh and i was charged $25 for that change. agh. what was worse was the lady next to me had thought her flight was at 9:20 in the am - and she was very early for it- but it actually was at 7:25 and she had missed it....

slow week

nothing very exciting has been going on here in PA- we have been resting still. i dont think we have done anything with the house since before the new years guests. last night we did sell our fridge on craigslist. we had quite the experience trying to sell that fridge. first person was a scam artist, the second person made 2 appointments and never showed and never emailed me about not showing, the third person also missed an appt and never called/emailed. we had this person coming to get it last night and we were taking bets on if they actually were going to show. luckily they did and we have some more room in the garage.
we have been very lucky buying things on craigslist though- we bought a nice crib and dresser for the babys room and a desk for our computer. i'm looking now for another desk for my scrapbooking/card making stuff. i need to get that organized- i have had to *buy* cards recently and i dont like it. :)

this weekend we are headed to syr for sarahs baby shower. murphy is so excited to go- he has never been to a baby shower before.

we will need one more person for the survivor pool- i have 9 so far, so if anyone knows someone who wants to play...
and we will draw the names 1 fan and 1 fav for each person. winner takes all. it will be cool to see this one.

linus went to the vet on friday and she didnt think it was anything yet...but i have to keep an eye on it and if it gets bigger, redder, or discharges i will have to take her back to be sedated and a sample taken. so hopefully it heals up.

Linnie Loo Hoo

Linus has this weird pink mole on her lip/mouth. i'm taking her to the vet tomorrow- i'm alittle concerned- do you think it looks normal??

RENT

We took the train into the city on saturday to see RENT. we left our house with more than 45 minutes to get to the train station and we just needed to grab some lunch and get cash. we never thought we would be running to the train practically jumping on it while still moving. quite an adventure but we made it. luckily too cause it was fun not to have to worry about directions or traffic. It took alittle over an hour to get there. then we have probably 10 minute walk to the theater. it was the artsy area of town. lots of theaters and such.






















The show was very good- i had seen the movie before and I thought the show was similar but better. it was amazing what they did with such a simple set- it was background and then 2 (beer pong) tables and some metal foldup chairs. for every scene in the whole thing. i was surprised at how many children were there watching. i dont think i would have taken my children.

2008!!

i cant believe its 2008 already... new years eve was pretty laid back- besides for the cranium game that got alittle too stressful for me. some people cant just relax and have a fun game... becky, carrie, ryan and i played cards - BS and world war. it wasnt too bad being around a bunch of drunks, it was quite humorous. not like the football game was. well i should say 1 drunk - RB. at 9:45 am when she said she was on her 3rd beer i should have stopped her or atleast slowed her down. because in the 3rd "inning" there was no stopping her, it was far too late. she got soooo loud and wouldnt stop calling me (and the woman sitting in front of us) a b*tch and taking my picture (and the woman sitting in front of us). Then when we got to the truck to leave in the pouring rain she was like "i need some more beer for the ride!" when i wouldnt let her she opened a bottle of wine and preceded to try and get ryan and i to drink it. after about 30 mins she passed out...

monday we got to go see renoir at the museum of art- which was pretty cool. and we went to the irish pub for lunch.

i have done nothing but lay on the couch since all our guests left. its been very nice. and luckily tomorrow is friday again. we are going to take a train into philadelphia saturday and see "rent". i am very excited.

xmas

today i am back at work...i don't like working the day after Christmas i have decided. driving back last night from syracuse ryan and i were like- ewww we have to go to work tomorrow. oh well not too many people are here so its pretty laid back- and i'm blogging so its not like its too hard. but i didn't even get to unpack all my presents and enjoy them. last night we got home about 6:30pm. First to find that our fence was not completed while we were gone...like it was promised. on our trip back home ryan made a list of all the things that had to be done before our guests arrive this weekend. a LONG list i should add. so my thoughts of vegging on the couch for the night were out the window. we worked until about 9 pm and then went to bed. i did accomplish alot though. the house is starting to come together.

christmas was lots of fun. ryan and i are the reigning 90s trivial pursuit champs. we played for about 4 hours and my stomach still hurts from laughing so hard. alot of lounging around happened over the weekend. nothing wild and crazy. i got to see the final episodes on sex in the city which were very good. i got everything i wanted for christmas. and for the record becky got more presents than anyone else this year. more than dad and ryan and cath put together...ha ha ha

busy weekend

This week I accomplished soooo much. First off I slept about 21 hours so I am feeling much better. I recovered our dining room chair cushions, made my cookies, finished my Christmas cards, wrapped my Christmas presents, painted some furniture, and helped Ryan with the bathroom. The bathroom is almost done- we went to the hardware supercenter twice yesterday, once in the morning to get some supplies for the day. Then with 2 hours before survivor we decided to get the mirror up in the bathroom. But when we opened the box the mirror vanity we bought was broken. So back in the car to the hardware supercenter to return the mirror. As we were putting the new one in the truck I said to ryan we better check this one to make sure its not broken- and sure enough it was broken too! They were all out of the size we wanted so we had to get a smaller one- we checked that one BEFORE we bought it- it actually was not broken broken but ryan is going to have to pound part of it together. so that did not get done before survivor. we got the shower done though and the vanity in.


Saturday night we went to a concert in new jersey. We saw lifehouse, simple plan, and avril lavigne. The concert was fun- lifehouse who I wanted to see the most was good- they didn’t really entertain though- they played their songs then left. Barely any talking to the crowd. They played well though. Simple plan was the most entertaining. They were all spazzed out. And their songs were good. Avril had some good entertaining qualities- dancers and such- but her band so overpowered her singing...a little disappointing. It was full of teeny boppers too...thank god they served beer or I think Ryan would have wanted to leave after the first act. I cant get over the cell phones and kids though. I think every 10 year old girl had one- and they texted during every band. Not sure why they went to the concert. Some kids even had blackberrys. Unreal.

another update already - the final one

Luanne won survivor! I was hoping anyone but Todd was going to win. I don’t know why be half way through the season he rubbed me the wrong way. And just annoyed me ever since. I don’t think that Denise would have won if Amanda had voted Todd off and brought Denise to the final tribal council. I don’t think too many people had really bonded with her. And its not like the jury was a bunch of mothers that can relate to her story. I think Amanda would have won then. sick

i have contracted a terrible cold this week- it sucks i have coughing fits like i cant remember ever having before. i cant sleep and it only seems to be getting worse.
and to top it off ryan tries to slave me every night into doing stuff around the house. i just want to go to bed at 6pm.

this week has also been door decorating week at work. there is a contest at work where you decorate your door in a winter theme and today is the judging. i hope we win. we went with my idea for 'a charlie brown's christmas' i drew a bunch of the characters and we got a branch for the tree. i'll post some pictures i took today. a little peanuts trivia...

something i have noticed since moving here-not sure if they have these in other places- but i never noticed them in any of the places i have lived before. they are two houses that are connected but they are not owned by the same people. like a duplex. but the only duplexes i knew of- one person owned and rent the other half out. anyways i think they are bizarre. even more bizarre is now at the holiday time- only one side will be decorated. all out crazy lights on the roof and the yard- but the other side of the house - NOTHING completely BLACK. i will never understand those houses.

bathroom renovation weekend

We started working on the bathroom saturday morning. yesterday we got the dry wall patched and the first coat of mud. 2 more to go. we also got the lanoliem in. we worked until 7pm. its a lot more work than you would think. i also got a bookshelf painted for our spare bedroom- so i now i can start unpacking our books.
i feel like this is my "adult" house...where my yellow, blue and red painted stuff just doesn't belong. so i am painting most of my bright blue stuff "greige". not so sure how i feel about it. almost like i am being forced to grow up... i WILL hang my hello kitty shower curtain...i dont care.

today we are putting the shower in, ryan is currently at the hardware store because "there was a chip in the base"- he did not cause it. alittle delay in the progress of the bathroom but atleast the hardware store isnt a 45 min drive like it was in portville. its only a 5 min. drive.

we hope to have this bathroom done by the time our 50 guests arrive at new years.

in recogonition of the jewish holiday tonight i made potato pancakes for dinner, and they were yummy. i used my pampered chef cutter which was nice because i think i had only used it once before.

i also would like to clarify that I am helping ryan do the bathroom---he is not doing it alone... jees.

tonight we put the ceiling fan up, but not wired...ryan is trying to figure out the wiring tonight and hopefully we will finish it tomorrow. i prepped the floor for the lanoliuem. luckily the floor under the carpet was in really good condition so we dont have to replace it.

we got the puppys christmas picture taken...it turned out okay. patty and murphy look so cute- linnie not so much. but thats linus for you. i can post once i get my xmas cards out. i dont want to ruin the surprise.

operation bathroom

this weekend we went to lowes to pick out our new bathroom- we have to gut and redo the whole master bath. if you saw beckys pictures it was the blue tile bathroom- so we spent over 3 hours at lowes getting everything. then sunday ryan started the demolition. i think he had fun with it. i had to run to IKEA to return some stuff and when i got back our porch was full of the bathroom. everything but the vanity was out- which came out once i got there. so now the bathroom is ready to be put back together. i cant wait- its going to be so nice. all the Pics



saturday night we went out with my friend from highschool's cousin and her bf- who lives probably 3 minutes from us. we went to a mexican resturant which was very good- then we went to a bar that had alot of different beers- kind of like blue tusk- but they serve things other than beer. and they served food. It was alot of fun- they are so nice. We got to see an i-phone in person- they are the coolest things ever. my next phone that i pay for will be an i-phone.

We also got our couch fixed on saturday- the technician came to our house and now it looks and works soo much nicer. he also found the armcovers- after 7 years of using the couch i found the armchair covers and the instructions on how to use the couch! i didnt even know you needed directions.
