this weekend some of my college friends that use to live in the Philadelphia area came to visit...it proved to be very knowledgeable for us, they showed us a new cool town we need to go to and they showed us the much needed shortcut into the city to avoid the always trafficy highway. we went to dinner at maggianos and had family style. it was soooo yummy. ryan had never been and was thoroughly impressed. i think we came home with over 10 boxes of food. granted some boxes had 2 raviolis in it, but still. i even had some tiramusi left over. so i left the house with the intentions of going to dinner and coming home. well my friends were going into philly to meet up with some of their old friends at a bar. and ryan couldn't say no to that, even though before we left for dinner he was saying how he could just sit on the couch the rest of the day... so we went to a bar and we got there pretty early- since both me and my friends wife are in 'non-drinking' conditions, we got to slurp down water with lemon- very fun :) the bar was nice but a few hours after we got there i started to get uncomfortable because i was dressed in my running sneakers, jeans, and a long sleeve t-shirt and this bar was turning into quite the trendy place. i dont think besides me anyone was wearing less than 3" heels and leaning more toward the hooker scale than the pregnant lady scale. i felt so out of place every time i had to go to the bathroom. luckily my friends had stayed up until 3 am the night before and were tired too and wanted to go home so we didnt stay too late. but on our way out i saw that the bar had put up ropes and people were waiting to get into this bar- they must have been aghast when they saw me come out and they were waiting in the freezing cold to get in! ha ha ha

Survivor Update #4

Did anyone else feel bad for the fans team? they were absolutly killed this week in both challenges. i wonder if thats why they are going to mix the teams up or if it was planned all along. I really think ozzy has gills too-- either they dont show him come up for air or he just doesnt... i'm so glad he got the idol- because he definately has a target on his back.

301st post

Wow- my last post was my 300th post! thats crazy. i wonder what % of those posts are survivor results :)

this weekend we went to portville to see the new baby- here are LOTS of pics of her and the trip, but mostly teagan.

The drive up was horrible- we hit a snow storm in scranton and had to drive about 35mph for a hour- we saw lots of cars in the ditches, and alot of them turned around in the road. i wonder how fast they were driving to manage that.... once we hit the NYS border though the road were a million times better. they actually plow and salt i guess. we made it though...just took longer.

We went and saw the baby- last wednesday when the baby was born i had said to ryan "oh we have to wait 4 more months until we get to see our baby..." and after this trip I think I am going to need those 4 months to prepare... So much to learn. luckily sarah and jr are keeping a little "tip" list for us. and they will be able to answer alot of questions since it will be so new to them. Plus it seems that EVERYONE has advice to give the new parents...so i dont think we will be lacking in that :) And i think i will take every baby class they offer at the hospital.

I was so upset they voted off Yau...its very funny though how much more open the favorites are this time about who they are voting off. and i think they should have named this veterns vs fans or something, because name 1 person who considers Jonathan or Eliza a "favorite"? I can not stand Jonathan. my favorite line so far has been cirie talking about amanda and ozzys ozzlets. :)

baby tigers and fondue

yesterday ryan and i went to a pet expo to see some baby tigers and look at pet stuff. i was alittle disappointed in the baby tigers. i was picturing a little play area with the tigers running around and maybe even we'd be able to pet them. instead it was a cage inside a roped off area with a dog cage inside. two fat men sitting beside them eating food or reading a paper. looking VERY uninterested in the adorable baby tigers.














we then went to the melting pot for dinner. it was very good- we got there 5 minutes after it opened and were told they were completly sold out for the night but we could eat in the bar if we wanted to. so since the bar was empty we decided that was fine. the food was good, very overpriced though. we paid $92 for the 2 of us for a dinner with no leftovers. we got the fiesta cheese appetizer, the main meal - 1 lobster tail, 4 pieces of filet minon, 4 shrimp, 4 ravioli, 4 pieces of chicken, pork and beef tenderloin. We also got salad and some veggies. the dessert was amazing- i took pictures of it all. but really they make a killing at the melting pot- you pay for the setting. cause if you think about it they dont have any cooks to pay, they give you raw food to cook yourself. i think if i went back i would go for just appetizers or dessert. The one perk was they forgot to add all the beer ryan drank so that saved us some money :).

i just realized that i have the incredible hulk as my only player left...i dont think i am going to win... he is pretty annoying i think. now that my 'fan' is the only person i have left i really want the 'favorites' to lose the immunity challenges. why is it they are only doing one challenge an episode??

winter warning

this weekend K&NO came to visit- we had a good time. we did a whirlwind tour of philadelphia on saturday and then went to the king of prussia mall. we went to the cheesesteak sub corner in south philly. and while i was trying to find a parking spot i accidently bumped a car. no damage was done but it was nerve wracking all the same. i dont think i could ever live in a city. we saw the liberty bell, the rocky steps, and betsy ross's house-which we didnt pay to tour but you can. We ate at the cheesecake factory...yummy. i got the keylime cheesecake and it was soooo goood. next time i am going to try the tiramisu cheesecake i think. We went to the sanrio store there- and when we were leaving a store manager ran out and stopped 2 girls who were leaving at turned them around and took them to security. i think they were sticky fingers.... i wanted to go into urban outfitters and see if they had the linus blanket for the baby...but we got to go eat before i could and i forgot to go after we ate. i'll have to look online to see if i can order it.

murphy did not get along well with katie (NO's pug) i dont know if its the breathing/grunting that she does all the time or what but without being provoked murphy would attacked her. it was very stressful. murphy hasnt done that since camping in rollins pond i think.

its so funny today there is a 'winter weather warning' because 1 inch of snow *might* fall.... atleast the ground is frozen right now...

does anyone else think that JFP is the most bizarro person? what was that last night? the funniest part of the episode was when Yau-man pushed JFP into the boat inorder to get the immunity idol. that was the best.

wreckage hunt

well in my efforts last night to find some good damage like the ones i have been seeing on the news i only saw one area with some apparent damage. i did alot of double takes with houses that i thought could be but there was actually nothing wrong- it was their normal house/yard. the one area that did have damage was crazy because only one house in the middle of a bunch of them had damage. all of the sudden there was metal scraps and pieces of trash (i assume the house) strung out along the road- a car that had looked like it was droppped in the middle of a field after hitting a bunch of things. but just that one house was damaged. i also found out today that the town i was staying in was in the predicted path of the tornado- only i was sleeping when that happened so i didnt know. luckily the weather people were wrong...

back to the safety of PA today...

tornados

Well i am in tennessee again this week for work- and i had no flying adventerous (but i still need to fly home) but last night there were tornados that went by just to the north of where i am staying. I woke up size to golf ball hail hitting the roof at the hotel. scared me a bit- we never lost power or anything though so that was nice. But right to the north of me lost power, tornado came through destroying houses, killing people, and started a fire at a natural gas plant. People are saying it looks like a war zone. I'm going to try and find some wreckage after work. (is that awful?) i do feel bad for these people but i want to see some of it. i dont think i have ever seen the wreckage from a tornado.

It's a Girl!

we found out yesterday at our ultrasound that we are having a girl....i'm so excited!! this means i can have all the hello kitty stuff i want... well ryan asked that i don't go overboard with hello kitty, that he is having anxiety over it... but we will see :)

going green

as most of my family knows i am all about going green...(they are way in the red zone)...well last night ryan and i made our first batch of laundry detergent...i'm going to test it out tonight. i'll let you know how it works. and if anyone is interested the recipe is on the simple dollar website. (oh yeah its alot cheaper than buying detergent too) it reminded me of making homebrew...which also reminded me we havent made a batch for probably a year- our last batch i think was our irish stout for st pattys day.

me being pregnant has helped out finances because we buy ALOT less beer...i dont think i drank THAT much...but maybe i did...or ryan is drinking less but i find that unlikely cause i feel like he drinks an awful lot.

scrapbook away...

i'm so excited this weekend i got my scrapbook area set up...well almost set up...a good start anyways. i went and got a 6 foot table and a storage organizer to be my scrapbook area. i have unpacked 3 boxes of stuff and i think i have everything. its so hard because i dont know exactly what i have so i dont know if i am missing a box. i still cant find my container of homemade cards. which is really making me mad- but atleast now i can make some new ones.


















we also painted the laundry room and moved a shelf in from the garage. it looks nice. while moving the shelf from the garage we rearranged and got my bug inside. i am soooo happy about that. it hurt me a little everytime i came home and saw my bug in the rain or snow... so now its safely in the garage. still not running though... it was about 40 degrees and sunny today. very nice. ryan and i were commenting on how we never would be doing something outside in january back in portville.

adventurous morning

i'm currently in tennessee on business... i flew out this morning and it was awful...besides having to get up at 5:30am...i left with 1 hour to get to the airport, 1 hour to get to my gate. when i got to the first highway from my house traffic was backed up all the way to the toll booths. it took me 30 mins to get 5 miles b/c of an accident. so i got to the airport in 1:15 minutes, took 15 minutes to find a parking spot- then i went to the electronic check in- checked in, hit "0" bags to check in... went up to security line it wasnt too long so i thought for sure i'd be okay. i take my sneakers off, get some of my stuff in the bins to go through the xray machine and i hear this woman yelling "ma'am...ma'am that wont fit as a carry on you have to check that" talking to me about my suitcase. i looked at her and said i cant go back and check this or i will miss my flight. she didnt seem to care about that- so...i run back down the stairs in my socks- back to the machine i left 10 minutes before to see if it will let me add a check in luggage...and it gives me the error - cant check in within 30 minutes of departure see a ticket agent. so i finally get someone to explain that i have to rebook- that i wont make my flight. i was soooooo mad- almost in tears because i was soooooo close. so i go to tticket counter, put my sneakers back on...and rebook a later flight which isnt a direct flight and i am 3 hours later than my original plan. oh well i guess. more miles for my card. oh and i was charged $25 for that change. agh. what was worse was the lady next to me had thought her flight was at 9:20 in the am - and she was very early for it- but it actually was at 7:25 and she had missed it....

slow week

nothing very exciting has been going on here in PA- we have been resting still. i dont think we have done anything with the house since before the new years guests. last night we did sell our fridge on craigslist. we had quite the experience trying to sell that fridge. first person was a scam artist, the second person made 2 appointments and never showed and never emailed me about not showing, the third person also missed an appt and never called/emailed. we had this person coming to get it last night and we were taking bets on if they actually were going to show. luckily they did and we have some more room in the garage.
we have been very lucky buying things on craigslist though- we bought a nice crib and dresser for the babys room and a desk for our computer. i'm looking now for another desk for my scrapbooking/card making stuff. i need to get that organized- i have had to *buy* cards recently and i dont like it. :)

this weekend we are headed to syr for sarahs baby shower. murphy is so excited to go- he has never been to a baby shower before.

one more person...

we will need one more person for the survivor pool- i have 9 so far, so if anyone knows someone who wants to play...
and we will draw the names 1 fan and 1 fav for each person. winner takes all. it will be cool to see this one.

linus went to the vet on friday and she didnt think it was anything yet...but i have to keep an eye on it and if it gets bigger, redder, or discharges i will have to take her back to be sedated and a sample taken. so hopefully it heals up.

Linnie Loo Hoo

Linus has this weird pink mole on her lip/mouth. i'm taking her to the vet tomorrow- i'm alittle concerned- do you think it looks normal??

RENT

We took the train into the city on saturday to see RENT. we left our house with more than 45 minutes to get to the train station and we just needed to grab some lunch and get cash. we never thought we would be running to the train practically jumping on it while still moving. quite an adventure but we made it. luckily too cause it was fun not to have to worry about directions or traffic. It took alittle over an hour to get there. then we have probably 10 minute walk to the theater. it was the artsy area of town. lots of theaters and such.






















The show was very good- i had seen the movie before and I thought the show was similar but better. it was amazing what they did with such a simple set- it was background and then 2 (beer pong) tables and some metal foldup chairs. for every scene in the whole thing. i was surprised at how many children were there watching. i dont think i would have taken my children.

2008!!

i cant believe its 2008 already... new years eve was pretty laid back- besides for the cranium game that got alittle too stressful for me. some people cant just relax and have a fun game... becky, carrie, ryan and i played cards - BS and world war. it wasnt too bad being around a bunch of drunks, it was quite humorous. not like the football game was. well i should say 1 drunk - RB. at 9:45 am when she said she was on her 3rd beer i should have stopped her or atleast slowed her down. because in the 3rd "inning" there was no stopping her, it was far too late. she got soooo loud and wouldnt stop calling me (and the woman sitting in front of us) a b*tch and taking my picture (and the woman sitting in front of us). Then when we got to the truck to leave in the pouring rain she was like "i need some more beer for the ride!" when i wouldnt let her she opened a bottle of wine and preceded to try and get ryan and i to drink it. after about 30 mins she passed out...

monday we got to go see renoir at the museum of art- which was pretty cool. and we went to the irish pub for lunch.

i have done nothing but lay on the couch since all our guests left. its been very nice. and luckily tomorrow is friday again. we are going to take a train into philadelphia saturday and see "rent". i am very excited.

xmas

today i am back at work...i don't like working the day after Christmas i have decided. driving back last night from syracuse ryan and i were like- ewww we have to go to work tomorrow. oh well not too many people are here so its pretty laid back- and i'm blogging so its not like its too hard. but i didn't even get to unpack all my presents and enjoy them. last night we got home about 6:30pm. First to find that our fence was not completed while we were gone...like it was promised. on our trip back home ryan made a list of all the things that had to be done before our guests arrive this weekend. a LONG list i should add. so my thoughts of vegging on the couch for the night were out the window. we worked until about 9 pm and then went to bed. i did accomplish alot though. the house is starting to come together.

christmas was lots of fun. ryan and i are the reigning 90s trivial pursuit champs. we played for about 4 hours and my stomach still hurts from laughing so hard. alot of lounging around happened over the weekend. nothing wild and crazy. i got to see the final episodes on sex in the city which were very good. i got everything i wanted for christmas. and for the record becky got more presents than anyone else this year. more than dad and ryan and cath put together...ha ha ha

busy weekend

This week I accomplished soooo much. First off I slept about 21 hours so I am feeling much better. I recovered our dining room chair cushions, made my cookies, finished my Christmas cards, wrapped my Christmas presents, painted some furniture, and helped Ryan with the bathroom. The bathroom is almost done- we went to the hardware supercenter twice yesterday, once in the morning to get some supplies for the day. Then with 2 hours before survivor we decided to get the mirror up in the bathroom. But when we opened the box the mirror vanity we bought was broken. So back in the car to the hardware supercenter to return the mirror. As we were putting the new one in the truck I said to ryan we better check this one to make sure its not broken- and sure enough it was broken too! They were all out of the size we wanted so we had to get a smaller one- we checked that one BEFORE we bought it- it actually was not broken broken but ryan is going to have to pound part of it together. so that did not get done before survivor. we got the shower done though and the vanity in.


Saturday night we went to a concert in new jersey. We saw lifehouse, simple plan, and avril lavigne. The concert was fun- lifehouse who I wanted to see the most was good- they didn’t really entertain though- they played their songs then left. Barely any talking to the crowd. They played well though. Simple plan was the most entertaining. They were all spazzed out. And their songs were good. Avril had some good entertaining qualities- dancers and such- but her band so overpowered her singing...a little disappointing. It was full of teeny boppers too...thank god they served beer or I think Ryan would have wanted to leave after the first act. I cant get over the cell phones and kids though. I think every 10 year old girl had one- and they texted during every band. Not sure why they went to the concert. Some kids even had blackberrys. Unreal.

another update already - the final one

Luanne won survivor! I was hoping anyone but Todd was going to win. I don’t know why be half way through the season he rubbed me the wrong way. And just annoyed me ever since. I don’t think that Denise would have won if Amanda had voted Todd off and brought Denise to the final tribal council. I don’t think too many people had really bonded with her. And its not like the jury was a bunch of mothers that can relate to her story. I think Amanda would have won then. Oh well...at the end when Todd won- Ryan said I think I am always pissed at the last episode of this show. The person that deserves to win never does.

sick

i have contracted a terrible cold this week- it sucks i have coughing fits like i cant remember ever having before. i cant sleep and it only seems to be getting worse.
and to top it off ryan tries to slave me every night into doing stuff around the house. i just want to go to bed at 6pm.

this week has also been door decorating week at work. there is a contest at work where you decorate your door in a winter theme and today is the judging. i hope we win. we went with my idea for 'a charlie brown's christmas' i drew a bunch of the characters and we got a branch for the tree. i'll post some pictures i took today. a little peanuts trivia...

something i have noticed since moving here-not sure if they have these in other places- but i never noticed them in any of the places i have lived before. they are two houses that are connected but they are not owned by the same people. like a duplex. but the only duplexes i knew of- one person owned and rent the other half out. anyways i think they are bizarre. even more bizarre is now at the holiday time- only one side will be decorated. all out crazy lights on the roof and the yard- but the other side of the house - NOTHING completely BLACK. i will never understand those houses.

bathroom renovation weekend

We started working on the bathroom saturday morning. yesterday we got the dry wall patched and the first coat of mud. 2 more to go. we also got the lanoliem in. we worked until 7pm. its a lot more work than you would think. i also got a bookshelf painted for our spare bedroom- so i now i can start unpacking our books.
i feel like this is my "adult" house...where my yellow, blue and red painted stuff just doesn't belong. so i am painting most of my bright blue stuff "greige". not so sure how i feel about it. almost like i am being forced to grow up... i WILL hang my hello kitty shower curtain...i dont care.

today we are putting the shower in, ryan is currently at the hardware store because "there was a chip in the base"- he did not cause it. alittle delay in the progress of the bathroom but atleast the hardware store isnt a 45 min drive like it was in portville. its only a 5 min. drive.

we hope to have this bathroom done by the time our 50 guests arrive at new years.

in recogonition of the jewish holiday tonight i made potato pancakes for dinner, and they were yummy. i used my pampered chef cutter which was nice because i think i had only used it once before.

i also would like to clarify that I am helping ryan do the bathroom---he is not doing it alone... jees.

tonight we put the ceiling fan up, but not wired...ryan is trying to figure out the wiring tonight and hopefully we will finish it tomorrow. i prepped the floor for the lanoliuem. luckily the floor under the carpet was in really good condition so we dont have to replace it.

we got the puppys christmas picture taken...it turned out okay. patty and murphy look so cute- linnie not so much. but thats linus for you. i can post once i get my xmas cards out. i dont want to ruin the surprise.

operation bathroom

this weekend we went to lowes to pick out our new bathroom- we have to gut and redo the whole master bath. if you saw beckys pictures it was the blue tile bathroom- so we spent over 3 hours at lowes getting everything. then sunday ryan started the demolition. i think he had fun with it. i had to run to IKEA to return some stuff and when i got back our porch was full of the bathroom. everything but the vanity was out- which came out once i got there. so now the bathroom is ready to be put back together. i cant wait- its going to be so nice. all the Pics



saturday night we went out with my friend from highschool's cousin and her bf- who lives probably 3 minutes from us. we went to a mexican resturant which was very good- then we went to a bar that had alot of different beers- kind of like blue tusk- but they serve things other than beer. and they served food. It was alot of fun- they are so nice. We got to see an i-phone in person- they are the coolest things ever. my next phone that i pay for will be an i-phone.

We also got our couch fixed on saturday- the technician came to our house and now it looks and works soo much nicer. he also found the armcovers- after 7 years of using the couch i found the armchair covers and the instructions on how to use the couch! i didnt even know you needed directions.

unbelievable

thats the only way to describe the survivor episode last night. i was so fuming that james did not use one of his TWO immunity idols! idiot! i was mad, but i think ryan was even madder at him. i cant wait to see him at the end in the jury...i like what he said in the end though. it was so true.
i'm wondering how next week will go with trying to get todd off, i'm not sure that will work.... i am officially out of the running

thanksgiving exhaustion

i am so tired from my week off in portville... yesterday i slept 9 hours at night- took a 2 hour nap and still wanted to go to bed early. in between sleeping i dragged myself around the house putting up tape for ryan to paint a bedroom and hallway. (it looks very nice) cutting the hedges by the road, shopping for things, making dinner, and eating ryans leftover birthday cake... yummmy. thank god we came home saturday to give me a day to sleep. i wouldnt be very useful at work if we hadnt.

the week was fun though. the surprise 30th birthday party for ryan was a success. he was shocked...he had no clue. it was fun. Alot of people came so that was good. i think 3 pieces of cake were eaten though so we have alot leftover. i told ryan we can freeze it and eat it on his real birthday.

shopping friday morning wasnt as successful. I didnt get the GPS i was suppose to. i did get a cheap bluetooth though. so now i have to shop everyday for the gps. target had a good sale yesterday but when i went they were all sold out. the woman told me to call everyday to see if any came in.

i'll post my pictures once i upload them...becky tooks tons for me at the party.

trips

I am in syracuse this morning- it has been a driving weekend. friday night we drove 7 hours to portville (7 because ryan left his wallet at work and we had to go back through traffic to get it) then sunday morning i drove to fayetteville to get the beds and dresser my parents are giving me. today i will be driving back to portville. then i shouldnt be driving again until next saturday. pheew.

penn state game

well the penn state- temple football game yesterday was fun. it never rained, thank god. funny ryan story:
on the drive down we ran into a little traffic and ryan was getting all bent out of shape because... he wanted to get there before kickoff... and he wanted to see them practicing... and he didnt want to miss any of it. he wanted me to get everything ready, the blankets, the camera, everything. so when we got there we were ready to go. Game kickoff is at noon, we parked at 11:10 am. there were two couples parked right behind us and i get out and quickly get my hat, mittens, scarf on and come around the other side of the truck to find that ryan has started chatting with the two couples next to us. apparently one was in a buffalo bills jersey... then they offer us beer and i expect ryan to be all oh no we have to go. but he takes one! and then two and three. amazing what beer does to him! so then its 11:55am and we still are tailgating... then we have to run to the stadium and rush around to get our lunch and we missed the first two touchdowns of penn state.

they ended up killing temple 31-0. it was a good time though. its the same stadium the eagles play in. most of the fans were penn state, so i felt bad for temple- since it was their home game.

saturday

unpacking update: we bought a nice desk off craigs list today and have our computer off the cardboard boxes. we also got our router working which took alot longer than it should have. our downstairs is almost all unpacked. our upstairs is a disaster.

today we are going to the penn state-temple football game. the weather is always looking out for me when i go to football games...i think its a sign to not go to football games. today is going to be rainy with a high of 45 degrees.

finally they got rid of that john robert..he really annoyed me. i'm thinking i have a good shot with the guy who has both immunity idols and the ability to win any physical indivdual immunity. lets hope i'm right-

moving

so the movers came on friday (they were ~2 hours late) and it took them almost 6 hours to unpack us. and thats just moving the boxes and furniture in, not unpacking the boxes. we have way too much stuff. and its a fact that our garage in portville was ALOT bigger than our new one. my poor bug is sitting outside in the rain until we can get some room in the garage. its been very overwhelming to unpack...i find myself doing a little, then sitting down. :) ryans parents came to visit this weekend also. rick cut down 4 trees and trimmed the branches off 2 more. our yard looks great now- he also weeded the garden. yvonne helped unpack alot. and we got the dining room painted. i will take some pics of the new house and share them.

so exciting...and i am very happy that i can now go to bed early tonight. i'm hoping to be asleep by 10pm.














since everyone else was posting their halloween costume pictures i figured i would put mine up...ryan and i were 70s people for halloween- well i was a red sox fan too. since we went to a sports bar and the red sox were playing.

well dad escaped another week...that was the worst 'finding the idol' i have ever seen. i really am liking that todd though...i think he is very smart. and we had our first victim tonight- carrie has been knocked out of the contest.

busy bees

we have had a busy weekend so far...last night we went to applebees for dinner...then we caught up on our shows. this morning we woke up early and went to the gym for our orientation. they have the coolest thing i have ever seen in a gym. at all the treadmills and ellipticals they have a mini tv/dvr player. you can bring in movies and watch them! then the circuit machines have a little computer on them and you have a code number that you punch in and it tells you what the settings and weight should be and how many sets to do, etc. makes sure you are doing the reps slow enough. and then it keeps track of everything you do so at the end of a week or month you can see how much you did. amazing. makes me want to go to the gym.

then we went to the home show and got lots of cool free things, bought an american flag for our new houses flag pole. Got ryan an eagles hat. then we went to the king of prussia mall and ate dinner at the cheesecake factory. so yummy. now we are settling in for beers and a red sox win. tomorrow we are going to the lake with murphy, our only friend. I think i am going to go to a craft show too while ryan watches football. looks like they have some pottery classes nearby that i might check out.

oh when we were leaving the mall i saw a melting pot resturant, so i cant wait to hear if its good from the boston girls and i am going to make ryan go.

painting

I finished my painting last night of our house in portville. i took some pictures and should be able to get them online tonight. i also went and bought a new canvas for my next painting. i think i am going to paint one of ryan and i. i figure we have all our puppies so that is logical. not sure when i am going to start it though. i have to find the perfect picture.



ryan and i went to the gym this week for our health screening apt. yeah i love it when you are told you are in the 'obese' weight range...i think i need to get serious about diet and exercise. maybe the most frustrating is ryan who eats 3 times as much as me is only 2% over his ideal body fat percentage...and everything else is in the excellent range. ugh.. hopefully it will be the motivation i need.

Woke up this morning to find the red sox had won!! i had to go to bed at 11 and they were up 4-1 so i thought it was safe to go to bed. i was nervous this morning though waiting on sportscenter for the MLB scores to start streaming.

Very disappointed in survivor last night, they are so dumb to try and vote off james...my favorite part was though when the one team thought they were just going to be given 2 players from the other tribe, never thinking that they would also have to give up two players. i was amazed by how dumb they are.

fayetteville bound

i thought once we moved that the travelling would end...but it seems like we are always packing or unpacking. we are going to a fake purse party and apple picking and we are going to watch the red sox game. its a jam packed weekend. oh and i forgot that we need to go to ll bean factory store. we are almost all packed up for the weekend. Once we get our house though we will not be leaving until thanksgiving- so everyone is going to have to visit us.

Ryan and i joined the gym this week, i get a free membership from the place i work. they are so far a wonderful company. we have all sorts of contests and they are all cash prizes. there is a world series pool right now...and a halloween decorating contest. so fun.

portville bound

well tonight we are headed back to portville to visit and to get some things we forgot at the house...and buy a cinnamon broom (anna if you could let me know where you got one).

today we are going to have our new house inspected. this is the only part of the house buying that would stop us. so hopefully there are no major problems with the house.

survivor was on last night and i was shocked they voted off leslie and not the girl who couldnt even lift the sword, did anyone else notice that they did freeze frames of everyone chopping the final rope but with courtney she was moving soo slow that they didnt even have to freeze frame it...oh and the yankees lost not a good night for ryan.

red sox game

watching the red sox game...i think i'm going to paint tonight too.

we got the house! we have the inspection on friday and then i'm not sure what else needs to be done before we close. we've been looking into costs of having a fence put in. i think its going to be costly. we are going to be very tight on money once we buy this house and not having sold our other house.

tomorrow i am heading to baltimore again for work. it will kind of suck driving 5 hours total- but shouldn't be too bad.

Visit

So mom, dad, and becky came to visit this weekend. our first vistors!!! of many we hope... it was a whirlwind though! it went so fast. Saturday we went to look at two houses - one ryan and i both like and then one i really liked. both 4 bedroom, one had alot more character but needed alot of work. if you check out beckys blog you can see all the pictures- she took alot. (and tonight we put in our official offer) we hope to close by halloween. that would be so nice.

after the house looking we went into philadelphia and went through a real sketchy area...luckily we made it to the philly cheesesteak area and they were fabulous. (dont listen to becky) then it was off the traditional site seeings. we went to the visitor center and got alot of maps and things. then we saw the liberty bell and the alchoies in the group wanted to go to the city tavern. where they proceeded to get bombed. its hard to site see with drunkards so we went to ikea instead. what a store. it will be nice to go there when we get into our house. i'm not sure we would buy any furniture or big things though. its pretty contempory styled. We did see some covers for the pink chairs in our living room. then we went out to dinner and then vegged out on the couch. we wanted to play cards but i forgot all my change - so we watched tv.

it was so nice to see my patty poo...she is sooo much smaller than i remember, i think b/c i have only been around the big oaf for 2 weeks.

wow it has been a while since i updated...its been a very busy week. i started my new job- actually that part has been slow. but i havent been able to internet like i used to at my other job. i'm getting a blackberry for work- so cool i have always wanted one. ryan and i have picked out a house we want. now we either need to wait until our house sells or have two mortgages.

employed!

I am employed!! i got my job offer officially today. so excited. i start monday. such a relief. i went shopping today to celebrate. i went to the king of prussia mall- it is AWESOME. i had so much fun there.

someone looked at our house again yesterday- we are crossing our fingers for an offer. hopefully we will hear something today but i doubt it. i am not impressed with our realtor at all. she doesnt email back- she cant get our house straight with who is coming to look at it. i bet we get an offer and she forgets to call us.

well this is my third day *off* as you would call it. and i must say its a little boring, i dont have very much to do but watch tv and walk murphy. i have been to the mall and target but since i dont have a job i cant spend money. i had an interview on monday and will hopefully get an offer this week.

last night we went to trivia night...apparently you are not suppose to call people to get answers. the winner won 2 tickets to a phillies game next week. we did not win. we came in 5th place. but it was alot of fun. next week it will probably only be ryan and i so maybe we can meet some people.

One bad thing about trivia is its in a bar and in PA you can still smoke in the bars. which is awful. i had smelly hair and clothes last night.

i'm going to go find the dog park today and take murphy. i might take a drive to king of prussia just so i know what outlets are there.

North Wales

Well i made the trip to PA last night... it wasnt a bad drive - friday night traffic is alot better than sunday night traffic thats for sure. we watch the red sox/yankees game. not fun- i was all celebrating when out of no where the yankees score 6 runs in one inning. dummies. those red sox better win tonight.

Leaving work wasnt very sad- leaving my linnie was though. i cried the whole drive up to drop her off at grammys. linus must have been sooo confused. i think she is much happier now though- she has mindy to play with. all week she would sit there and look at me like - 'C'mon and play with me! like murphy does' so now she has a friend. Her bark collar is working wonderfully too. shes a different dog. if only pattys was working...i'm surprised becky hasnt mentioned it on her blog- but patty must be immune to electrical shocks.

the apartment is nice- i got all unpacked today. its kind of surreal though- since i'm down here with no job- not sure what the future holds. hmm. could be fun. the pool is closed too. i was very dissapointed.

recap

the weekend was a good one. ryan got home friday night and we watched thank you for smoking. pretty good movie- i was surprised by all the stars in it, i had no idea who was in it. then saturday we cleaned alittle bit- went and did some shopping in olean - went to the irish festival and drank guiness and watched the little kid dancers. we saw a couple people we knew, but we couldnt stay long because there was a penn state football game to get back to. sooo then we spent the rest of the night watching football - most of sunday too. well just the bills game. a player got hurt pretty bad- they think he may not walk again. terrible. the bills lost too. they are kind of bad.

ryan left last night with murphy. linus was sad this morning i think- she misses her brother and sister. maybe ryan too. anyways i have alot of packing and cleaning to do this week. i move down friday.

Friday

well its friday- this week went pretty fast i think.

Linus came home yesterday- and her breath smells WONDERFUL...she was at the vet for a teeth cleaning. she had to have 6 teeth extracted. i was very surprised, she had some plaque on her teeth and her breath was bad- but not as bad as pattys is. anyways she is all better now. tonight i am putting the shock collar on her to stop her barking. i didnt want to put it on last night, thought it would be too tramatizing. hopefully it works.

i heard from the place i interviewed with and it sounds good- i should get an offer the monday i go down to PA. soooo that means i should have a week off. it will be so nice. esp since there is a pool at the apartment. i dont think ryan is excited for me to not be working... ha ha.

quiet night

tonight is a very quiet one, i am home alone without even a fourlegged friend. its very strange. we left the patty poo at grammy and grampys in fayetteville and then ryan has murphy in our new apartment. And linus is staying the night at the vet.

It will be a short work week luckily...i am so looking forward my last day at that place. i had an interview tuesday that went well and it was a place that i WOULD work at so i hope i get an offer.

The new apartment will be nice. and anyone who wants to visit will have a bedroom...so dont be shy!

monday

well its monday again. i have two more mondays here though - after today that is. very exciting.
this weekend was alot of fun. friday night we watched flags of our fathers, which was pretty good. except for the portrayal of the 'drunk indian' i didnt like. but i love adam beech.
saturday we went to ryans parents and swam and cooked chicken. murphy was a bad boy though he tried to eat lucy- he must have mistaken her for a chicken - they do look similar. he had her in his mouth. she is fine though- not even a little scratch. she'll think twice about growling at him i bet. well maybe not.
then we went to the portville football raffle and we won $50. that was so exciting because we have never even come close. then we went to carries aunts for a party. played a little beer pong. goodtimes

sunday we had an open house and a big fat 0 people came to look at the house. so depressing. and i detailed my car- its like new inside.

i'm working the 10-7 shift at work this week- its making me nervous because last time i worked 2nd shiftish hours was the week september 11th, 2001 happened. i was home with my new baby puppy patty thinking i had changed the tv station to some movie where planes were crashing into the WTC. craziness.

hair

i will put up my hair picture once i get a good one- i dont like the ones you take yourself. i think i look like ugly betty now though- if only i had braces. esp with my new glasses. i think i might cut the bangs a little shorter too they are kind of long.

finally friday...the weeks go very long now that i know i am done with this job- and everyone on the floor is asking me when i am leaving. i *think* i have 3 more weeks left of this lovely job.

tomorrow ryans parents are throwing us a family going away party. they are going to cook chicken. should be yummy. i'm so excited that we dont have to travel anywhere until sunday of labor day. and our months are pretty clear for the rest of year. whoo hooo.

Job hunt

Well I am still on the job hunt- but I got the most exciting call last night. A woman from Tiffany's and Co. called about an engineering position. I was soooo excited. Wouldn’t that be the coolest thing ever?

Unfortunately my bubble was burst this morning when I called them and the position is in east NYC. So there is no way I could commute that far. But I can dream

The wedding had alot of firsts for me to see at a wedding and as the 6th wedding this year i really didnt think i could still be amazed... But first off was the seating, it was in a circle and the only seats left were the ones behind the table where the ceremnoy was to take place...so i am in ALOT of pictures i bet. Next was the 'butterfly release.. first thing in the ceremony was a butterfly box that was opened and a bunch of monarch butterfly came out. some however did not make it, it was sad to watch broken wing butterflys suffer. and most of them had to fly over us to get out from under the tent. not cool.

next was similar to the sand sarah and junior did, but it was white and red wine. that they mixed and each drank...pretty cool.

they served bully hill felicity- one of my favorites AND they had a cigar roller and we all got cigars as favors- VERY COOL.

well our camera that has been on its last leg according to ryan for 3 years is finally not working at all. i'm pretty sad, i loved that camera. and it took way better pictures that beckys camera...ha ha ha. so today we have to go camera shopping and hopefully be able to find something reasonable. i want to get a zoomie kind. the ones that professionals have. i dont like the miniature ones. and i know i wont get a nikon. we will probably get another kodak so that i can use all the batteries and cards i already have.

today we are off to rochester for a wedding tonight of one of ryans fraternity brothers and then tomorrow another wedding in seneca lake for one of my college friends. should be a good time.

job search

is going nowhere and fast.

i'm getting pretty sick of interviewing too. i have had about 4 different recuiters calling me today and some of the jobs i have zero interest in but since i need a job i am lying and telling them i like the job. and then the ones i have interest in ryan doesnt like the location. oh its very very frustrating.

i shampooed the carpets today- well three of them. i think they look better, the few stains we had aren't gone but you can hardly see them. I vaccuumed before i shampooed but there was soooo much dog hair that came up with the shampooer. it was gross.

tomorrow i am going to PA for an interview monday. i'm very excited...if i could just get a job i dont think i would be so stressed. and the less interviews the better because i feel like we have been asking ryans parent to watch our pups everyday.

tonight we are going to breadstix for some beers. should be a good time. i dont want to be out late though. i'm sick of bars. i definately dont want to go bar hopping. ryan said we wouldnt- but i would put $$ that we will.

We buried St Joseph tonight too. should bring us a buyer :)

we got back last night about 6:30. it was quite an adventurous weekend. we never stopped going while we were there. and it was soooo hot. i'll post up the pictures separate. i think i took over 200, so i will have to trim them down. but i have the actual wedding pictures up. we went and saw the empire state building, the statue of liberty, WTC ground zero. we shopped at the street markets in soho. i got everything on my list. and it was all so cheap. the purse i got for $10 though was CHEAP, a piece of metal already loosened up and scratched me. i guess i got my $10 worth.

once we got home though we had to get to work- the house goes on the market today and i had to do some painting last night. i think the basement is ready. now i have to live neatly until we sell. i will hate it.

NYC

we are leaving for NYC today after work- i am getting pretty excited...i have never seen (up close or been inside) the statue of liberty and we are going sunday morning. hopefully we wont miss the wedding although i think becky is hoping we do, so she can say 'i told you so'

we get to try out my new GPS too.

I finished harry potter tuesday night. it was SOOOO good- i liked the book but i was a little sad that they are all over now and i dont have another book to look forward to. it had a very good ending. and it tied most of the loose ends up. i think i need to reread them ALL now though and will understand it much better. i would but someone packed all my books and i think my national park passport. so now when i got to the statue of liberty i cant get it stamped. who could that be???

tomorrow i should be getting the last harry potter book :( i'm sad its going to be over soon. and i cant believe all the people who are trying to ruin it on the internet. the woman on the radio station said when she gets it she is going to read the last pages to see what happens. i dont understand people like that. why would you want to ruin it?

so while becky and my mom are cleaning i will pretend to be in ireland and i will read my harry potter.. ha ha ha

its official!!

Ryan has accepted the new job!! so we are moving.

i'm pretty excited!! cath and becky are coming down this weekend to help 'declutter' the house to make it more marketable. we started this week already. its amazing how much 'stuff' i have.

i got a call today from a head hunter with a job prospect...so cross your fingers it works out. it seems like a good company to work for. and its in the direction we wanted to live.

we decided too to get the girls a lion cut for the first time ever, i will be sure to put pictures up. i hope they dont look too silly.

we got back from camping yesterday morning.

it was a good time, but i did not sleep well on the cots in the cabin. and we froze two nights pretty good. the weather was really great though, we had 4 good beach days and 1 rainy day. we got to see a mother bear on her second to last day on earth. the park rangers shot her out of a tree 30 feet high, it took 4 shots to get her down and then one more when she was on the ground. they had gotten 4 of her 5 cubs and are going to rehabilitate them before putting them back into the wild. she was a bad mom though- she was raising hoodlum bears that break into campers cabins and eat their coolers.

i also have some old pics from july 4th and around that time.

concert

well the concert this weekend was alot of fun. first we went to eat dinner an hour and a half before the concert thinking we had plenty of time. but we went to the hard rock cafe and there was an hour and a half wait. so we had to go to another resturant, cant remember the name. atleast it wasnt the food court in the mall. the concert was cool, first they sang the chasing cars song together, and then faith sang for about an hour. then they sang another few songs together and then tim sang for about an hour. then they ended it playing a few more songs together. it was pretty good.

saturday we drove home and did some work around the house- then we went to a BBQ. ryan was suppose to be the DD, but of course we decided to stay out and get a cab home. it was pretty fun- but i was exhausted sunday. we did alittle more work around the house. and some more tonight. the basement is looking so much better with the trim up.

wedding weekend

another wedding weekend is over. tht was the last one that either ryan or i was in, so that is good. i had a very good time. we went up friday morning and ryan golfed with all the boys. i was a little hesitant about hanging out with the bride and grooms family for the day since i only know the bride. but Jeffs sisters and mother are so welcoming. it reminded me of the browns :) i had a very good time with them- we went to lunch at pizzeria unos. jeffs sister has a one month old boy. he was such a good baby i thought. there are some pictures of him in the album. friday night we went to the rehearsal dinner in a park with dinosaur bbq food...it was very familiar. :) then we went out...maybe not a good idea for the groom, as he was alittle hung over saturday- as was i...surprise surprise. the wedding wasnt until 5:30 luckily.

oh i have been pretty tired since the big trip this weekend, and i think knowing we have another trip this weekend to rochester doesnt help.

luckily for luanne and becky i didnt have an night terrors this weekend. actually i dont think i slept long enough straight through to dream.

so i think we are going to be moving to philly. its not official yet but ryan is leaning towards that. whooo hooo. i will have to change the title of my blog to perceptions from philadelphia, ha ha ha

more dreams

well the last two night have had terrible nightmares...the kind where i freak out and try to wake Ryan to save me...but he doesn't wake up..well last night he did but the first night he just rolled over. he can sleep through alot. My first nightmare was that like 1 foot men were around our bad poking me with daggers...and last nights nightmare was a huge metal rusty crane was trying to hit us. for that one at least i got off the bed out of the way and woke Ryan up. i wonder what they all mean. any suggestions? (besides I'm crazy)


philly was very cool, we know nothing yet so i am not sure if we are moving yet. but i will be sure to update. this weekend i am off to syracuse then boston for hopes wedding....should be a good time

philly

ryan and i are in philly. checking out the area...hopefully we will move here soon. i like it alot and i am hoping that ryan will decide he likes it too. we actually are about 45 minutes north of philadelphia, so its not IN the city but its close. it was so hot today, so humid.

we watched knocked up tonight- it was frickin hilarious! definately recommend it to everyone. and just a warning its not for children.

tomorrow we are going to see the king tut exhibit in phila then we are heading home to our pups. i bet they are missing us terrible. apparently their aunt S is up flashing our neighbors though.

well this weekend was quite eventful.

First off ryan played in the alumni football game and they won 26-0. it was pretty sad showing on the A-L team. Ryan sent some kid off in an ambulance with a dislocated hip. I've warned him that his karma is bad right now. then we went to the always eventful post game party. we proceed to drink all the losing teams beer and then we went to a bar. we sang karoke- it was too fun because the whole bar was sing sweet caroline, and i yelled into the microphone - go red sox!! and those idiots got mad at me...little did they know they were singing the red sox song. ha ha ha

we ended up going to some guys house in the woods (way more in the woods than my house) and stayed there until 4:30! i was drinking the best wine ever too. we got a ride home with bird and went through the woods to get back to our house. it was an insane evening/morning.

needless to say i felt wonderful sunday morning. then ryan made me go to Darrins daughters 1st birthday party. i actually did have fun. but i would have loved to sleep in my bed all day long.

i didnt have to babysit last week...too bad.

the weekend went off without too many problems...we all had some good laughs. luckily we caught lots of things on the video camera... i am so tired though. thank god we had today off too to recuperate. Cath, dad and becky left yesterday afternoon and after that we just sat on the couch until we went to bed. it was so nice to see all the family again. hopefully it wont take so many years in between for it to happen again.

this week ryan is preparing for the football game and i might be babysitting for our neighbors all week. should be interesting...

finally friday...finally friday

wells its not really friday but its the friday of my work week. i have tomorrow off. so exciting. its so freakin hot here today though. i hate heat.

i broke my bug tuesday night- right after i got the dumb car to idle while sitting in my driveway i took it for a drive. and i didnt bring my cellphone or anything. we i got probably 1-2 miles from my house and it just wouldnt accelerate anymore. so i pulled over and then it wouldnt start. i had to walk home. then later ryan took me back and we dragged it home. not fun.

i have to get home tonight and vaccuum again, i never thought a lab would shed more than the poms, but he does.

Crazy weekend

Well I got my bug back Friday after work. It was so exciting the thought of having it back and I imagined it running like a gem. Not the case though. I picked it up and pulled out into traffic and it stalled. Then an ambulance was coming so I had to pull over again and it doesn’t idle. It just stalls. I made it home after stopping at Sprague's for some fish fry. We went to birds new house for a bon fire, picked junior up on the way. Drunk junior I should say. He sat in the back of the bug complaining of carbon monoxide poisoning, clunking noises, and that the bug made his truck feel like a Cadillac. (mind you the bug is 20 years older than his truck). It was quite humorous. Birds house is very cute.

Saturday I slaved around the house cleaning and cleaning. Let me tell you I hate cleaning. Then we went to the bottle return place to take back the bottles/cans from the bachelor party. Mental note: don’t wait over a month to return bottles. They were all moldy and disgusting. Then we went to a benefit in Olean for a kid Ryan graduated with who was in a horrific car accident. Then to a going away party for one of ryans friends who is going to Afghanistan next week.  Oh while at the benefit ryans parents were dancing…well his dad was kind of whipping his mom around and it was to music…but he flung her around and she fell, landed on her wrist and broke it! I have the whole thing on video too…

Sunday I had to work, then I was back to cleaning…while ryan golfed. So not fair.

Cath left today- we got so much done this weekend, all the wedding favors done, planted all the plants- then overnight some of them died. Danced at the PC...went to breakfast at spragues... i had to cover all the plants tonight because its going to be in the twenties overnight.

bug

I took my bug to the mechanic on Monday night, Tuesday I called them and they said they were just getting to look at it, but they had some guests. Apparently there were some mice in the car the got out at the mechanics. She told me they were very cute, but that they probably did a lot of damage. SOOO Wednesday I called and they had to redo a lot of the wiring ($$) and that I needed a new ignition switch ($$). Plus she said - you know the floor is rotting out right? So I have the body shop quoting me now on what it would cost to replace the floor panelling. I am going to have more $$ into this than I spent for it.

Happy Birthday Murphy!

It was Murphys first birthday on sunday....and only grammy called to wish him happy birthday...some people are so rude. i cant believe he is already 1, it seems like yesterday we got him. This week we are getting him neutered too. i cant wait for the incessant peeing to stop. i should take a picture of our backyard, he pees on every post of the fence and the grass is dead at every post.

This weekend was cinco de mayo...so fun. we went to a bbq and then went out in olean, i hadnt been out in olean in a long while.

I also had my bug (**cry...i dont have to specify which one anymore**) taken to the mechanic, i hope to have it running soon.

Cath is coming to visit this weekend to help plant my garden for the big wedding. should be a good time...hopefully the weather is going to be good this weekend.

Well i was glad to see alex finally go...i was alittle nervous that they were actually going to vote for Yau-man. And with that becky is out of the game also. We stayed up for Greys last night too...i think we have a new show to watch now...it wasnt really a greys episode it was just a ploy to get you hooked into another show. Addisons show. not sure the name yet though.

well the night was successful i suppose....i was puking the next morning so i must have had too much fun :) ***Disclaimer** never take advice from nurse sarah when you hung over...following her advice can lead to more puking **
i'll post the pictures so everyone can see the fun we had. I made $20 from becky cause she paid me to ride the bull at daisy dukes. That bar was much sleazier than the first time we went. but it was a good time.

sunday was a wash i didnt get anything done. tonight i looked all over our house for the lawn mower key...to no avail. i dont know what we are going to do but we've lost both keys.

i've gotten a terrible cold from ryan. he had it all last week and lucky me got it this week. i cant breathe through my nose at all. it sucks.

last night i woke myself up screaming at ryan to get an imaginary spider that was apparently trying to get me. I had pulled the covers up over my head and then crawled off the bed yelling. poor ryan... i was so mad at him because he was trying to tell me there was no spider but i hadnt realized i was still in my dream.

this morning we laughed about it :)

busy monday

well today was a very busy monday- i was awoken to ryan telling me that murphy had had diarrhea in his cage last night and it was all over the office. I didn't really see how i could help much...ya know push him out of the way and clean it myself, then puke cause it was soooo gross, then he would have to clean that up too... so i stayed warm in the bed. well then ryan yelled at me. It was a great way to start your week. Poor murphy did not have a good night. I'm not sure what got him so sick.

then i took the girls to the groomer, they look so cute, their butts all trimmed short.

Tonight we had to finish cleaning the poop and give murphy a bath. I took all the easter decorations down and we cleaned the basement up a bit, and got some of the ceiling up. Lots more to do this week though for the big vistors. Cath and Mike are coming down thursday for the shower.

i got so many of my pots back this week, i will post a few pictures. there is one that i really like that i will use as a cereal bowl.
my class was done last week... it's kind of sad. i really enjoyed it. i still have to glaze about 5 more pots.
this week we are trying to get our basement ceiling finished, we only have one more section. i will post some of those pictures when we are all done. then this thursday we are heading up to syracuse for easter. cant wait! we have lots of shopping to do. i decided that ryan needs a nice good pair of Doc Martens. so we are going to go get him some. and we are going to the japenese rest. for sushi that becky just highlighted. looks yummy.
it has been beautiful weather here this week today it was almost 70 degrees and by tomorrow night it is suppose to snow.
